    Morning :)

ClaireT13 - That must have been a worry with your Dad!!

Not much on my list today...am planning on a trip into town this morning if the kids ever get out of bed!

Just HHI and paperwork to do over the weekend, and general washing/tidying.

Have a good day all x

    Morning ladies

A busy day planned here - tidying up another corner of my bedroom, which appears to have been used as the general dumping ground since Christmas, then on to the list.

Happy to report that my peanut butter laced mouse and rat traps have despatched two little squeakers and one mighty fat rat (in the chicken food store) since their introduction. Nothing in the house yet though, so thinking it may have been a rogue mouse doing a rekkie who got lucky finding SS's chocolate stash on the floor of his bedroom.

Taking the skids back to the train station this afternoon, then a bit more tidying. I didn't manage to clear my ironing pile for NY, but quite pleased with my progress.

Managed to choose, plan, order and put down a deposit on a new kitchen and sofas for the lounge and middle rooms, plus got cracking deals on a new WM and TD in the sales, which are being delivered on Thursday. Grandma's funeral on Friday, so I won't be online then as I've got the epic Sussex round trip...

Nice to see some new ladies joining in the fun :j
  • Well done with the bargains Dizzy Imp, I hope the funeral goes as well as those things can.

Ooo dizzy where did you decide on for your kitchen? I'm having a new one this year and started planning- although my savings plan doesn't come up till June, but redundancy money money might be a factor before then!!! I have never had a new one so quite excited but also a bit "where do I start?"

Welcome mum2boys xx we post the list on the first post of the thread each evening for the following day and you might want your own daily list too - packed lunges if applicable, hoovering after pets and so on. We don't add jobs like washing up too - and try to be as inclusive as we can bearing in mind everyone's home / circumstances are different xx

Bossy - We started by having it all ripped out after the flood :rotfl: had an actual blank canvas which meant we could plan for exactly what we wanted. I had an "essential" list (a double sink and a dishwasher) an "important" list (more work surface) and a "would like, if at all possible" list (drawers rather than base cupboards) then looked at styles online to narrow down where to visit. It is quite exciting being able to choose what you really want, so have fun!

Our house was built in 1505, so we've plumped for an antique oak wooden kitchen with granite workspaces to keep in with the look of the house, but I'm having thoroughly modern appliances, a new range cooker and a big American fridge freezer. We have a separate utility room at the other end of the house, so my WM and TD will go in there. We will get a big chunk of the cost from our insurers, but we are adding things to the spec, and will have to pay for those. Not sure whereabouts you are, but we only went to The Kitchen Depot in Shrewsbury and were so impressed that we didn't look anywhere else. Very competitive pricing and lots of kitchens to choose from :T

Oooh. There I was thinking we had a new year exercie routine as well:D

Welcome mum2boys83. We are definitely not as draconian as the american flyers seem to be, but we seem to get things done. At our own pace.

LW Glad to hear Jack no 1 is OK. That must be a relief.

Dizzy Ooooh. New kitchen. Slightly envious, although I had a new kitchen about 5 years ago, and that was amazing. Just a few things I'd tweak, but it's not happening so I just have to get on with it.

Bossy My one piece of advice would be to draw it out first. Lots of times, and think about the niggles in your current kitchen. Look at how other people's kitchens work, and make lots of wish lists. Then cut them down to reasonable/possible/affordable (I did away with the inbuilt butler) :rotfl:

    Morning all.

Lazy day yesterday after my shower, but that's mainly down to enjoying the peace and being able to get at the TV to watch stuff I want to watch before DD comes home tomorrow. I did take the dog for a walk. We weren't out as long as usual but it was dark & raining so he had me speed walking most of the way :rotfl:

Not so lazy a day to be had today though. I need to find DD's bus pass for school then I'm walking into town to get it renewed as she's back in school Monday, bank to pay in a cheque as other branches close at 12 today (find my paying in book as well then, which I hope is where I think it is), and I'm going to have a mooch around the few shops I bother with. I'm hoping the rain that's forecast all day will put some shoppers off!

WM is on with a load from before new year which I forgot about, phone is charging and if I wait until about 10.30 the rain should go off so I'm going to potter getting my stuff together and purging expired coupons from my purse. First job, finding the bus pass!

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Morning all. I got everything done that I planned yesterday and had a nice day with DD and her partner. Am seeing them again today as we're going to York - which folks is open for business!

Today, I've done the dailies and had a walk with the dogs.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Doing well today so far:

    HHI
    DW load and unload
Clear kitchen sides of all paperwork that has just been dumped
    WM
Trip to post office and supermarket

DH called on the way back home from work and he is popping into IKEA to get us a big whiteboard for the kitchen to keep us organised and the finishings for the laminate floor we just laid in the playroom. He isn't normally this helpful but I'm not knocking it!!

Cup of tea next I think and carry on!

Hope you are all having a lovely day x
