I gotta ask....what is the BD??

Depression, "The Black Dog" - a term first used, I believe, by Winston Churchill. So if someone has BD, we all try and throw sticks to send it away.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Today has been a bit of a strange day I feel like I have been lazing around but I have still managed to get a reasonable amount done.

Today I have ordered a new set of drawers for dd whilst saving £76 (paid £48.99 RRP £124.98. I have also got my diary organised for most of January including work stuff. Also I have paid the phone/internet bill. I pottered around (including outdoors) and made my toots list. I relaxed and watched "We bought a Zoo" whilst DH made me a cuppa and made the dinner.

Monday - a bit of everything!
Dust and deweb all through downstairs
    Sweep or vac too

Tuesday - kitchen and dining room
Back to the kitchen - pick a cupboard- empty it and wipe the shelves. Only put back what you need. Can anything be ditched?
    HHI

Wednesday - Bathrooms & PC / Study area
    HHI

    Thursday - living room
    Dust and vac all around
Ironing challenge! Hands up who's finished?

Friday - Happy New Year! Join in only if the mood takes you!
Declutter a drawer or shelf, or encourage someone else to...
Decide on a few healthful meals to introduce to the menu

Now that my list has been updated I think I will be able get the rest of my list finished tomorrow.

Completed all my list today, with multiple :coffee:, which, being decaff, did not keep me awake all day! I raised a mug to you, FBO

I trump your goldfinches by one female sparrowhawk, Narc0. Not in our garden, but she was sitting on the same pole at about the same time on Christmas Day (when we were on our way to DS2) as when we passed her this morning on our way to the railway. Obviously uses it as her breakfast bar!

DH has had a lovely day playing trains, despite almost losing his voice, but the main thing is that his blood pressure appears to be behaving better and he's not getting the lightheaded spells.

I am regretting having collected so many bits of paper with information to go on the family tree, without ever having filed it properly before (I started 50 years ago). I need space in my cupboard and order on my shelves...

    Welcome, newbies, to the madhouse.
Glad to hear that Jack Russell is OK, LW, and thanks for setting Ted on the BDs.

    See you all tomorrow x

Phew. I think it's bedtime... Only got about 4hrs sleep last night due to partying :o but a good time was had by all.

This afternoon was mostly playing tea parties with the kiddies. DS had us chuckling when he put DDs dressing up shoes on and was tottering about in little plastic heels and a butterfly clip in his rather short hair. Lol. But all the teddies enjoyed their picnic ;)

We've also done a lot of reading tonight and have planned a bit of homework for the weekend - they only had reading and times tables for DS so nothing too taxing. We might make some charts too. And I need to plan my weeks - I've moved their swimming lessons so our routine is now muddled.

We will also need a few bits for the fridge - so might pop to @ldi on Sunday. Other than that it's a weekend at home with heavy rain forecast :(

  • hello

im been looking at flylady for a few years now. Ive just got little bits from the website but that's it. So as its the first of January im going to really follow it properly.
In the past because its in the usa, I don't get the emails at the right time or as I cant get online first thing every day, I miss the follow each day bit and just give up.

im looking for fellow flyladies to help me keep on track.

    Welcome mum2boys83.

We follow Flylady principles but not the American e-mails - instead we have lists which are drawn up by our excellent leaders Bossymoo and Natty. You will find them in the first post of each weekly thread.

The word "fail" does not exist in our little community. We just do what we can off the lists and know that the rooms will all come around again next week, when we can have a go at the things we've missed. Some of us even work off our own lists and never do as we're told!!! There are no lists at the weekends, so jump in and join us on Monday on the new thread (there will be a link from the end of this one). And please post frequently so that we get to know you.

    Happy New Year everyone.

Sorry I have not posted more this week. Events overtook with work and my Dad being taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack - false alarm thank goodness.

Anyway, I made excellent progress here yesterday as my parents had my 2 DS's (8 and 7) for the day and DH really stepped up to help for a change. Maybe 2016 will be our year of pulling in the same direction. Yesterday we did:

6/7 loads WM, tumbled / dried and mostly away
    2 x HHI
    2 x DW
    2 hours gardening and tidying
    Swept all through the downstairs
    De cluttered 2 rooms
    Cleaned 1 of the cars

    Today, my aims are:

    DW
    Finish washing (4loads?)
    Put away underwear
    HHI
    Clear kitchen
    Change both boys bedding

I hope you all enjoy your Saturday x
