Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Thank you Natty for last week's thread
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner
DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!

I'm in next week
Thank you for the thread abossy and natty.
I've only got 5 things in my ironing basket, so will def have it cleared by New Year's Eve even if I add a few more bits.
I never do laundry on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day my mum and gran always said you washe d someone in or out if you did so I've never risked it. Having said that I've never yet seen a certificate stating death by laundry or it being a valid method of conception so I'm probably erring on side of caution or just being plan lazy.
Just watched strong man, going to play Mario kart now till home land comes on (just so we keep possession of the TV)
Got sis her family and mum round tomorrow so will tidy in the morning and do a buffet of sorts.
CY just seen the flood warnings for York, I hope you and yours stay safe and dry.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi all
Thanks Bossy.
Very stressful day. The decision to drive into York to collect parents from the station was not a sensible one. My Dad hates coming home from York by bus or train but I wasted most of the day giving them a lift home.
The pictures of flooding are hard to take in. My heart goes out to anyone affected. Funny how things turn out eh CY.
We are out visiting family tomorrow so wont do much flying. I got rid of my ironing basket years ago, I only ironing things that need it and try to deal with it as soon as the washing is dry. I do need to sort the fridge though, it looks very messy with bits of leftovers and bottles of booze stuffed everywhere.
We are short of fruit and veg so I need to stock up and make a list. That might be Tuesday.0 -
Hello Ladies (and gents?) Please may I come back?
I had another break down and cut myself off from everyone and everything. I now feel strong enough to attempt sorting myself and my home out.
The girls and I are having a late boxing day dinner at my parents tomorrow as my youngest has been working over Christmas (lots has changed) so won't be working on the house til we get back.0 -
Good evening, Please count me in for this week.
Monday - a bit of everything!
Let chickens out to roam and feed animals
Rehoming - find a convenient spot and gather up all the new and existing items that need a home. Spend 10 min sorting into piles according to which room they will go to. Maybe pop them in old carrier bags and enlist some help to "deliver" them to the right homes!
Check online sales to see if there is anything that I need (presents, stationery, food)
Dust and deweb all through downstairs
Sweep or vac too
Tidy your tree or xmas decs - are all the chocs eaten? Can you dust around / under?
Sort through the fridge - any leftovers that need to be binned? What do you need between now and new year?
Close chickens away before it gets dark
Organise new diary
Wash up any dishes sitting around kitchen (looking rather untidy at the moment)
Wipe down all the kitchen counters and the sink
