I'd act like you haven't even noticed

Not in a playground I'm ignoring you - way - but in an adult.....we're just aquaintances - way.

Was she ever really a friend-she sounds very hard work and about 13 years old.

She is hard work. I felt like I was walking on eggshells a lot of the time. I was trying to keep friendly because the boys get on so well. My 10 year old is really sad about it, but I have said to him to remain friendly and that I don't have an issue in them remaining friends. However, don't know if that will work the other way round.

They're training tomorrow, so will see what happens then.

  • Rather than de-friend them I've just set certain people to not receding their posts.

That way I don't receive the drivel that people think I should be interested in
  • I have found that when I was on Facebook a majority of my 'friends' were people I really could not stand but I was friends with them because they knew a mutual friend of mine if that makes sense.

I am so glad I have permanently deleted the site. I am not one of those people that moans about the website but stays on there because it is the only way they can keep in touch with that long lost second cousin in Outer Mongolia...

That site is so full of drama it's unreal. If I feel the need to have some depressing and ridiculous drama, I will just watch Eastenders.

Many children alter their date of birth to open an account. The 2 in question are 13 and 10.

Apart from the fact that I think it's a bit odd being Facebook friends with a 10-year-old, I don't see why you should de-friend them just because you had a fallout with their mother.

And I think you're taking the right approach by just ignoring her. Continue your life as if she doesn't exist.
  • My SIL fell out with my husband (her brother) and defriended us both (bothered?), but she also went on to her daughters' accounts and defriended my DH from them too, so don't be surprised if that happens. It may not have been their choice.

A 10 year old should not be using facebook anyway. 13 is also too young, imo, but at least it's not illegal.

I'm sorry your Christmas has been spoiled by this this but it demonstrates one of the reasons why I will have nothing to do with Facebook. As somebody else has said it reduces some people to the level of fighting in the kids' playground.

I divorced facebook years ago. I couldn't stand the sheer pettiness of it all.

leave the kids on as friends - my guess is that they will soon be unfriends on their mums orders. Once she sees that YOU are not going to play the FaceWars game.
