freespirit thanks for the cake!
I'm glad it turned out well.
Well we didn't make our train journey in the end as it was a bus replacement service! Not quite what we had in mind for Wiggle! So we went to the park in town which is on the river and it was lovely. We had an ice cream and Wiggle was loving running around and picking daisies. I almost cannot wait until tomorrow as I gave up chocolate for lent and am desperate for some! When i've done it in previous years I haven't been that bothered but this year i've really missed it!

Morning everyone! Sorry I have ben AWOL for a time, Ive had a bit of a sense of humour malfunction and haven't felt like posting, although I have been reading what everyone has been up to. Hugs to all that need them and big congrats to linz!!
Peppa- hope things are going ok? There will be plenty of time for looking after DGD- just get yourself better first x Hope the pain is a little more under control. I love apple crumble! DD is not a natural in the kitchen (asked how to cook soup the other day!!) but she does make a mean crumble.
Feisty- glad little miss F is doing well bet she's keeping you on your toes! Hopefully DH is managing a little better?
Vulpix- how are you managing to do all that decorating with bad knees and so much pain?? I take my hat off to you! DS has re decorated his room this week as he has had annual leave, he's done a good job - he now has a new man cave complete with a curve TV he has treated himself to!
Princess kitty- oh that's a shame about the train trip but Im glad you managed to take advantage of the good weather yesterday. Sounds like your house plans are coming along well.
Mrs I- your poor DD, I feel so bad for people in her situation who have to jump through hoops just to prove what should be staring these idiots in the face. I understand that there has to be some control on these things but if they took the time to read the individuals case notes then so much worry and anxiety could be saved.
Free- that baking spree sounds delicious! I agree it is way more expensive to cook from scratch but sooo satisfying in both the process and end result! I made DS a Star Wars cake for his birthday which cost an arm and a leg for the icing but was worth it cus it was unique to him. Are your meds helping any with the pain? I know it must be hard for both you and your DD that Thumper has to go to nursery one day extra, but it cant be helped so try not to worry about it x
I brought a a leg of lamb for Easter dinner for the men but as DD,mom and I don't eat it I thought I would get a turkey crown yesterday- that was the idea anyway! Went to 3 separate supermarkets and no turkey crowns to be had anywhere! Ended up in Iceland where there was one solitary HUMUNGOUS whole turkey sitting at the bottom of the empty freezer! I think it was only there cus no one could lift it out! In desperation I brought it knowing that most of it will not be used as we don't like the' wet meat'- dogs are in for a good dinner !
Off to take DD to work early this morning as the parking is £16 for staff on Saturdays (as opposed to £3 in the week) so she doesn't drive in on Saturdays.
Hope everyone has a good Easter even if the weather forecast isn't too good,
Take care xxlovin' this site!

thank you all for your kind words about DD, it really helps me get through the form filling! (soon be filling in the Chinese visa form too so a positive to look out for afterwards.
l am off to a money raiser for children on the autism spectrum this afternoon, with the Grandma sister, there will be a cake stall, and DGS has asked for any leftovers to be kept for him. (that's because his aunty will be baking for it and he l-u-r-v-e-s her chocolate cake). During the summer he cuts her grass every 2 weeks or so and is rewarded with a full one to himself! -it is supposed to last him a week, but it doesn't see the weekend out.)
The rain today is a disappointment, as l was hoping to get a bit of digging out of the way, however my back will thank the rainmaker and may make me see sense.
l bought a leg of lamb at Tesc@ from the reductions, l filleted it and cut it into my size portions and froze them, so one of them will be my easter treat.
Princess Kitty, did you know that traditionally, mothering sunday was the one day in lent that you can legitimately indulge in the thing you gave up for lent? l learned that from our lady vicar at bubs christening the other week. Wish l had known about it years ago.
My Grandad taught me the Sundays of lent were 'Tid, Mid, Miserey, Karling, Palm and Pasce egg Day' . I have never heard anyone else name them so have no idea what the first 2 are, heathen that l am!
l need a new black printer ink so will need to go out this morning too, better look out the mac and wellies. Off now on the great caffeine safari aka another cup of coffee.0 -
Evening everyone, well its a good job i have been on my own today i have been as miserable as sin, this pain is seriously getting me down, at this rate tomorrow i am going to have to paint a smile on this miserable gob!
On a plus side i managed to get my cleaning finished, table is all set, emptied the washing basket, finished the current book of Carole Matthews i was reading and started another one of hers, and watched a film. Went to make a Lemon Mousse and the kids had finished all the icing sugar and not told me
so will have to chuck the cream as the date is today. DD1 had a lovely day in London, but told me their tube was stopped for 20 mins as a suspicious package had been found at a station 3 stops up the line  it turned out fine but glad she didnt tell me until she got home otherwise i would have been worrying all the time she was there!
PRINCESSKITTY oh what a shame about the train....... typical! Ooh you are so good giving up chocolate and lasting, well done you, hope the easter bunny leaves you some tomorrow
MURIE yes you are right the cakes are unique when they are homemadeStar Wars sounds fab! The meds work sometimes but not all the time for some reason, i took some at half six and i am still sitting here in pain they havent made a bit of difference! I had to lol at the turkey, the shelves are empty down here, yesterday in tesco the only chocolate eggs they had left were the lindt golden bunnys, loads of them for some reason but not one other thing and DD1 tried to get me some icing sugar tonight and they were completely sold out of that as well!
MRSINVISIBLE aww i love your DGS treat off his aunty for cutting her grass, a whole chocolate cake at that age must feel like such a treat!

:easter_ba:easter::icotbaske:easter_os HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! :easter_ba:easter::icotbaske:easter_os
Wiggle usually wakes up at 5/5:30 everyday, my phone automatically updates during the night when the clocks change so I expected it to say 6/6:30 this morning but it said 5:30 - so we've technically been up since 4:30! One day this boy will lie in....
We were hoping to go to the family service at the church this morning but it doesn't start until 11, because Wiggle gets up so early he needs lunch and a nap around then so won't be able to make it. I might try and go to the earlier service on my own. I'm going to cook our chicken earlier in the day and re-heat it later, we always have our roast dinner for our evening meal as we like to eat as a family and Wiggle needs his lunch at around 11:30. But mostly today I will be doing this: :EasterBun
murie I hope you are feeling better about everything now? And I hope you enjoy your turkey and all the meals that will come from it!
mrsinvisible I didn't know that about Mothering Sunday! If I had I would have MASSIVELY indulged as Mothers day this year was quite stressful! I shall definitely remember this for future years.
freespirit I'm so sorry to hear you are still in so much pain, I wish the meds were working for you. I do hope you manage to enjoy today with your family. Your DD must have been relieved, it's sad but all these things that keep happening do put me off going into London at the moment, I have friends there so do go there from time to time. Thank goodness it was nothing more serious.
Well I hope you all have as lovely a day as you can and hugs to everyone who needs them. xx0 -
Happy Easter everyone! I hope everyone has a lovely day- even if the weather isn't too promising. There are big dark grey clouds lurking on the horizon- methinks another downpour is imminent! Last night the moon was so bright though our bedroom window, but it kept disappearing every 10 seconds or so- I had to get up to check it wasn't the aliens coming to visit as it was so bright then so dark suddenly!!
Enjoy the day (and the choccie if you like it and the Ester bunny brings you some xx)lovin' this site!

Good morning folks.
Peppa,I hope the pain killer problem settles down.I went through them all when I had my back done.Sometimes they made me feel dreadful,I am sure that that is what my abdominal pains stem from but GP says no.Your GD will enjoy you all the more when you are feeling a bit more like it.It must be lovely to have a grand child. My Mum has made my kids lives richer and I am sure you do too for your little one. It is still such early days for you in your recovery.
TQ,well done on night time light bulb moments.I broached the subject of just sending cards with an old friend last year. She agreed and turned up a few days before Christmas with a present anyway! Awkward cos there wasnt one for her under the tree!
Free, bloomin rubbish pain.Yes just fake it,thats what I do a lot of the time.I just think nobody would come to see me if I was a misery moaning old s-d.I think you will take a while to tinker with your meds and get on top of it.I will tell you what girl, you do loads. When you read your posts, you get plenty done.AND look at the weight loss,go you!!!!!!!!! What you have lost I think I have found half of it.
Can I stick my oar in about your daughters back?Do it,go for it,quick, don't even consider not doing it!It will not get better by itself, she can have a 2 4 1 deal and have both problems sorted in one go.Yes,it's a massive opp but short term pain long term gain.I had a bad back 24 years, remember sitting out so much with the kids.Throwing a cricket ball whilst sat on a wall!etc, etc. It would benefit her little family so much long term.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Mrs I ,I also cannot wait to get in my garden, bought a nice little drum stick primula yesterday in a lovely purple from the £ shop.I am just making a garden here so am sticking allsorts in.Saw a thing with Monty Don the other day and he said only have about 7 types of plant in the garden.I have stuck so much in in the last 6 months it will be a surprise what comes up.Tell me about China, who do you visit?
PK,You get about with your little man,all good for him.Loadsa stuff cancelled here this weekend because of the weather forecast. No car boot for me today! My kids didnt go on a train 'till they went somewhere on a school trip.Ashamed to say they never went on a bus either. You need a car where we live.
Murie, hope your cobwebs are being blown away. The pain thing,I just fake it.I honestly think I am addicted to pain i have had it so long.I keep myself distracted with my grand schemes and plans and work ten minutes sit down 20!
So to conclude the essay...
Family came Friday, lovely time had.Sent them all home with chunks of cake and crispie cakes in ice cream tubs. 60 days till we go to Canada.Yikes fatso.
Me n Mr V found ourselves alone yesterday so we went on a road trip to Llandudno.Had ice cream, came home and had a curry take away.I bought a new coat in a factory out let place. Was expecting to pay £75 (birthday money) got to the till, was the last one, couldnt find it on the computer so they charged me £20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now wait for it,Mr V is at work at the moment, his back is much better so he wants to empty the other shed.nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Have a lovely break folks Vx:0 -
Murie, l love the aliens moon trick!!!
Free, l know what you mean about the meds, l often wonder if the other meds l take are as unreliable, as l can only judge the painkillers and they only work sometimes!
Managed to get DGS his chocolate cake, and a selection of other traybakes and scones, took them up to his dads and watched his eyes pop, as l don't think he believed l would/could do it. He was busy building his 'airf!x' type models, there was paint everywhere. Fortunately his dad is as enthusiastic about the planes as he is so doesn't mind the mess.
Got the printer ink and got the printer to behave and print out the guide l need, so my weekend is pre-planned filling out DDs form.
l actually won a prize in the raffle, choice between a photoshoot and a chocolate egg, guess which won.
10 0clock already, l best had get up and do stuff, have a good Sunday everyone.xxx0 -
