Evening everyone, i thought i would pop on before my programme starts, is anyone else watching The Night Manager? Well i have sorted all what i need for my Easter baking and my shop was delivered tonight, as well as our family roast on Easter Sunday is all sorted except for fresh veg. All March birthdays sorted now as well so i have a break until May then it all starts up again :D I had £10 left on my M&S gift card so treated DD1 and i to a meal deal tonight seen as DS is housesitting for his friend for a couple of weeks, so it has been nice to have an easy night.

04624181 i have been thinking of you and if everything is ok, hope it is! Its so very quiet on here at the moment and i havent been able to get on every day either

VULPIX ooh i find my DW invaluable for saving time :) glad you havent had any pain the last few days i have had twinges last night and tonight again  it comes and goes, can your pain be like this? Sorry DH has injured his back it used to be the other way round when i was with exH i spent 29 years looking after him and his back but whenever mine was bad i got nothing because no way could it have been as bad as his!

MRSINVISIBLE oh boys and their growth spurts, i was forever buying DS jeans and trousers as within 5 mins they would be ankle swingers!! Glad you have your tickets booked the way time is flying it will be here soon enough. The kids and i have a Whats App group we use for photos and messages you will love it when you are used to it :)

    Hi,

I'm not feeling marvellous myself today.Am still in bed.Had to practically row with the receptionist yesterday to even get a phone appointment with a nurse.I know it isnt her fault but I know I am ill,I don't do attention seeking.Feels like I am getting pancreatitis again to me.So am doing what they would do if I was in hospital.Starve and water only.

I MUST do some painting in the kitchen today,it is dragging on too long. I love renovation, bringing buildings back to life. The bungalow we went to see is a no.It is being sold by a charity and they will not accept anything but the asking price. You would be in effect buying a building plot,so not worth what they are holding out for.

I have decided that applying for a full time job with a 2 hour commute is fantasy. Before i started falling to bits yes,but not now.

I will stick with my little house renovation job,I can do it as and when and fit it round my health.Luckily Mr V just goes with the flow, but has no interest so just lets me get on with it.Have done 5 houses in 5 years,Always looking for another one.I only buy places I would live in myself and only houses with parking.Doesnt matter what state they are in,I have a fantastic builder.

You all lead such interesting lives,I love this thread.

Health is a theme for this thread,we all need putting in a sack and shaking up!

    Vx

I think that most GP receptionists think they are gate keepers to mystical beasts and therefore will only allow people that meet their personal standards access! ;DH was once passing his GP and thought he was having a heart attack. The receptionist checked his notes (with all his heart issues) and told him to take a seat as she could squeeze him in for 2 hours time! Thank god it wasn't a heart attack!

I'm glad you've managed an appointment with the nurse.

    Your renovations are inspiring!

Right, I need to get motivated and bought a new Fitbit, managed to get on our old account and found Hayley and Lyndsey (you will know who you are). What I cannot remember is our old page, can anyone shed any light before I search our old threads of about 2 or 3 years
Apart from that, nothing to report here. This Christmas will be extremely low key, unless I do get motivated

My fit bit is chucked uncharged in the dtawer! It is tempting to reboot it. Good luck with yours!
Evening everyone, its still really quiet on here, i havent been on as i have been so tired and couldnt even be asked to pick the laptop up. Today i actually left the house and picked up Thumpers cargo pants i ordered for christmas and while i was in asda i got some more beauty bits for the girls pamper hampers again for christmas, two each of which were half price so more money saved. I popped to HC to spend my gift card i wanted to get a plastic bit to make the pouring cakes but they didnt have any they said they are only sold online so i was a bit peeved at that, i have also added to my penny a day savings i have over £40 so far, is anyone else still doing it? I bought two gift cards for my N & N birthdays but its not as easy as i thought the shops either havent got anything suitable or not in the amount i want to spend so i might stick with it for their birthdays and go back to money for christmas. My diet has gone awol the last few days since DD1s birthday which i am mad at but i will get back on it. Hope everyone is ok xx

PEPPAPIG aww bless you its very easy to think we are feeling better than we actually are and by overdoing it is the only way to realise no, this is going to take time! Its good that you had a blub with the nurse it probably relieved a lot of tension that you had built up, and she is right it takes a good while to get the anaesthetic out of our systems and it is still early days. I know what you mean about turning a blind eye when you are ill but you know you are getting better when things start annoying you :D

VULPIX i hope you start feeling better soon and that your bloods result come back quickly and it can be dealt with. I hope you are feeling a little better today! Well done on all the painting! Yes i decorate a little for Easter, just in the LR and the DR table. I usually put them up on the Thursday before Good Friday and then take them down on the Tuesday after Easter Monday, obviously leaving the flowers until they die.

NEWTHRIFT hi and hope you are well :)

PINKSTEPS sorry i cant help you on the fitbit group x

I stopped the penny challenge the day I went into labour. I'm tempted to start again and just top it up to what it should be by now!

I don't ever remember a winter when so many people have been poorly, tired out etc. Best wishes for a recovery to all who are suffering still, even at the start of Spring. I have not really been well (kind of low level stuff but debilitating nonetheless). Every time I see my grandchildren, I seem to pick up yet another virus. Starting, on my doctor's advice, to take multi vitamins, so fingers crossed.

Despite being under the weather, I don't think I have ever been busier with family and friends. I have put on half a stone and all I can see ahead is yet another meal out or family get together. First world problems, I know!
Anyway, re Christmas, I think my daughter in law is hosting this year, for the first time. She is Hungarian so I am hoping we will be treated to something a bit different. Her mum, who lives with her, is a brilliant cook! So, although I have been saving since January, I won't have quite the same outlay this year. I have also decided to cut back on gifts for my grandchildren as they already exist in a sea of pink/blue plastic "stuff". By this Christmas, their ages will range from just turned 1 to just turned 8 so plenty of toys can be passed on and re-used. I know that the older ones will still be looking to see if Santa has visited Grandma's house and left them anything (my fault, I have overdone it in the past and they expect piles of gifts now - they don't know that I have been collecting bargains all year long, lol). So, now I need to think of how I can play it. The youngest two won't have any awareness of that tradition so it is the 5, 7 and 8 year olds I need to think around.

Still, plenty of time to work something out but I would welcome any ideas of how I can "let them down gently" this year, for their own good, lol. I already save money for them and money means nothing to them anyway (yet).

I noticed you were inactive, probably as long as I was, felt awful as I joined my old account and some were still going strong!

Fiesty re Drs receptionists. They must have a dreadful job but fgs! I was asked if I had been to the chemist and then what was the matter with me,i said i didn't know thats why I wanted to see a Doctor. She said I could phone back in 3 days and there might be an appointment for 1st April !!!! I said I couldn't be ill to order and she very reluctantly gave me a telephone appointment with a nurse. No wonder A&E is clogged up with non emergencies.Nice to see you posting, how old is Miss Fiesty now?

More painting done,Need to touch up a few places then its done.A bit of glossing and it is complete.I have painted the brown UVPC french doors and a window, what a difference that has made.I love DIY but I am so slow these days.

Whitesatin, could you do the shoebox appeal with them.Give to less fortunate children and Santa will only leave them one gift at your house as a thank you for their help?

Free its time for the community brave vibes to be sent out to me,injections under the knee caps on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The joiner has been today, put amtico floor in the bathroom, door catches, trim, just finishing off.Starting to take shape now.

I need to decide on a menu for Friday as the family is coming then.

vulpix, I very much like that idea. I will talk to their parents and see what they think. The children are very good at thinking about the needs of others and do like to get involved in helping where they can. Thanks.

Terrible news about the attacks in Brussels , what on earth can make anyone think that type of act will progress their cause ?

DD had her pre op assessment yesterday all went well so just waiting for a date now then its all over.I went into the shop [WH Smith] at the hospital and it cost £2-68 for a bottle of Sprite and a packet of crisps ! I will take stuff with me next time.

Christmas wise -I am looking for something for my dad then they are done and I can deliver them next month. Some one earlier asked if it was for last year or this , its 2016 pressies I will be taking there. I will also drop off all birthday/Fathers day and Christmas cards off at the same time.:D

  • Hi all, i've had another busy week with house stuff, I went to visit my mum as it was her birthday and we've just been to Center Parcs for the weekend. What with all of the house stuff going on I don't think I thought about our Center Parcs trip until the day before when I had to pack! It was a lovely break though and Wiggle is so much more into everything now which is lovely. I haven't caught up yet so hugs to all that need them. x

I managed to buy a Christmas present whilst at Center Parcs in one of the gift shops, a quirky fox pen for my BiL's girlfriend to go with a notebook i'm going to get her as she writes for a living. Other than that no Christmas things going on, just getting prepared for Easter. We actually don't have any plans with family this weekend as we just spent the weekend at CP with DH's parents and my parents are coming down on the 30th to babysit as it's our wedding anniversary, so it's just the three of us. I think i'll do a roast chicken dinner as we don't like lamb. Anyway, I hope you're all as well as you can be and i'll go and catch up!

Afternoon everyone, i have been baking this morning for DS works bake sale tomorrow, i have made Twix Brownies and Creme Egg Rocky Road, not sure if the Rocky Road will work though as i think my scales are playing up, i thought it was too much chocolate so tried to compensate by adding more golden syrup, we shall see in a couple of hours if it has set grrr i will be so mad as DS spent £20 on the ingredients :eek: just to make two flipping things! I have a few things to bake for our Easter weekend but seriously thinking in future it is cheaper to buy ready made, i just wish i didnt enjoy and associate baking with Easter and Christmas so much!

FEISTY i actually just stick notes in the penny challenge as i never have change/money in my purse, so i just draw it out once a month but it is still a fab/easy way of saving for me. Hope you, Mr and Lil Miss Feisty are all well and looking forward to Easter

WHITESATIN hope you are feeling better now, i do know what you mean about the sea of plastic, i love the saying Something They Want, Something They Need, Something to Wear, Something to Read and have started going by that now for Thumper

VULPIX ooh sending lots of brave vibes out to you today, i hope it goes well and isnt too painful for you my lovely! How are your pains? You are doing so well still decorating and not feeling well, im afraid nothing is getting done around here :(

CHRISSY it is getting more and more frightening all these attacks going on! Glad DDs pre op went well. One of our local hospitals only has a Costa inside it so you can imagine the costs of eating and drinking there!! Thats after the cost of parking

PRINCESSKITTY ooh glad you had a lovely time at Center Parcs, hope it gave you a lovely break away from everything. How is DHs back?
