Evening everyone, have had a lovely day with DD1, its her birthday today, she loved her presents, we just had a lazy day together as her brother has bought her 3 nights out to see comedians and the first was tonight, so they went a bit earlier so they could eat out before the performance begins, so i have had a quiet night tonight! I ordered a pair of cargo pants for Thumper for christmas today from George, saving me £2 so just need to wait until they are ready to collect, that is his oufit and pjs all bought at sale prices now.
VULPIX i hope you are feeling a little better tonight, arent some drs receptionists so rude, we have one at ours and i dont know how she keeps her job, she is the most horrible person ever, someone put on our local village facebay page last night that they had had an accident with their thumb and been to hospital and had it seen to but since then it has gone septic and he just wanted a bit of advice, apparently not one person had time to look at it nor could he sit and wait at the end of surgery so this stroppy woman just told him to go home or to a&e again SERIOUSLY this is what a&e do not need!!! I bet if someone had looked at it, it would have taken 5 mins to say what he needed to do. I do hope whatever you do works for you, i have membership of the sack as well atm :rotfl:
MRSMONEYPENNY i hope you are well x
PEPPAPIG i know i just dont want to add to her stresses atm she has enough without the worry of care arrangements, but i wouldnt have been able to look after him properly so it was best, but it is the third time this year i have let her down and that upsets me a lot, how are you feeling now? Are you beginning to feel back to your old self?
SPEKYSQUAREHEAD hi and welcome to our thread, i am glad we have helped already, it really is the best way to buy throughout the year and try and get most of it in the sales, you sound as if you are already getting there

Feeling much more like my normal self thanks FREE. I've got pain on one side and I can't decide if it's because I've reduced the pain meds too soon or if it's new/got worse. Back on pain proper meds for next few days and if no better will have to see doc. Things around the house have started to register again (e.g. DH's inability to stack dishwasher properly) so I must be feeling better lolIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Peppa it takes ages for the anesthetic to be out of your system, much longer than you expect it to.The trouble with feeling a bit better is the temptation to over do it and not have enough pain meds.I did just the same when I had my spine op.The consultant said it would be a 6 month recovery and at 5 months I now know what he means.I felt great after 3 weeks but looking back and comparing to now I realise I tried to do too much.Try and take it a bit easier.xxx
I have been painting, for days! Not quite the colour I was expecting but heck I'm not doing it again.Got the biggest wall to do and the woodwork, should be finished next week.
I have an appointment tomorrow for bloods, given reluctantly by the triage nurse, also a follow up appointment in 2 weeks.I hope it's just me stressing.Trouble is I have been ill for most of the last 5 years and i think I am a bit paranoid now.Deffo got bad pain tho,not imagining it.
Do you decorate your house for Easter? If so when do you put them up?

Sorry i'm abit AWOL again at the moment!
I will read back properly hopefully over the weekend but flying in to say hello and hope that everyone is ok!! Peppa excellent to see your home and posting, big hugs to you!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Thanks NEWTHRIFT.
VULPIX I think you're right. Had a lot of pain this morning - found where it's coming from though cos I touched it by accident and nearly went through the roof! Blubbed a bit with the nurse this morning (not like me at all but it's a bit of a vulnerable day today). She said much the same thing and I'm to take the pain meds, rest and remember that two weeks is very early in the process. Hope the blood tests throw some light on your pain - if so I bet it'll make you want to wave them in front of the unhelpful receptionist and nurse! We don't decorate for Easter - I did do a small Easter tree in the window last year but I gave it to DD a few months back so won't be doing it this year
JJ sorry I forgot to say when I posted the other day, lovely to see you posting but sorry to hear you're still suffering pain. Hope your mini-relies will keep your spirits up.
Welcome to our lovely thread SQUEAKYSQUAREHEAD, you're def in the best place for a fab Christmas on a controlled budget.
Nothing Christmas related going on here at the mo although we're well into the birthdays again. Fortunately we get April off then they all start again with three in May including my gorgeous and much loved DGD who is going to be seven. Where does the time go?It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Right, I need to get motivated and bought a new Fitbit, managed to get on our old account and found Hayley and Lyndsey (you will know who you are). What I cannot remember is our old page, can anyone shed any light before I search our old threads of about 2 or 3 years
Apart from that, nothing to report here. This Christmas will be extremely low key, unless I do get motivated0 -
Evening everyone, its still really quiet on here, i havent been on as i have been so tired and couldnt even be asked to pick the laptop up. Today i actually left the house and picked up Thumpers cargo pants i ordered for christmas and while i was in asda i got some more beauty bits for the girls pamper hampers again for christmas, two each of which were half price so more money saved. I popped to HC to spend my gift card i wanted to get a plastic bit to make the pouring cakes but they didnt have any they said they are only sold online so i was a bit peeved at that, i have also added to my penny a day savings i have over £40 so far, is anyone else still doing it? I bought two gift cards for my N & N birthdays but its not as easy as i thought the shops either havent got anything suitable or not in the amount i want to spend so i might stick with it for their birthdays and go back to money for christmas. My diet has gone awol the last few days since DD1s birthday which i am mad at but i will get back on it. Hope everyone is ok xx
PEPPAPIG aww bless you its very easy to think we are feeling better than we actually are and by overdoing it is the only way to realise no, this is going to take time! Its good that you had a blub with the nurse it probably relieved a lot of tension that you had built up, and she is right it takes a good while to get the anaesthetic out of our systems and it is still early days. I know what you mean about turning a blind eye when you are ill but you know you are getting better when things start annoying you
VULPIX i hope you start feeling better soon and that your bloods result come back quickly and it can be dealt with. I hope you are feeling a little better today! Well done on all the painting! Yes i decorate a little for Easter, just in the LR and the DR table. I usually put them up on the Thursday before Good Friday and then take them down on the Tuesday after Easter Monday, obviously leaving the flowers until they die.
NEWTHRIFT hi and hope you are well
PINKSTEPS sorry i cant help you on the fitbit group x

Hello peeps, very quiet here of late.I don't always have anything to say but think I should make a bit of an effort.
Nothing Christmas happened for me recently.I have only been to the supermarket,I did buy a couple of mugs.We have a dishwasher in the new kitchen.I have resisted one for years.I don't like lots of clutter and now find we run out of mugs before the bloomin thing is full and ready to go on.6 new mugs in the last few weeks, see how we get on.When they are all clean they won't fit in the cupboard now!
Could you hear the swearing? Me n MrV emptied one of the sheds yesterday, chucked loads out, brought missing stuff into the house,re jigged and replaced it all.We were going to do my shed which has all my gardening stuff in with Mr V's carp shoved in front so it falls out when you open the door!He hurt his back, dosed him up and made him rest.He has been going to the gym recently and it has been twinging, but he is hobbling now. Can't help but secretly notice that I dragged myself round, went to work, raised kids, kept a house etc for24 years with a bad back.He is of course totally disabled and has to sit groaning in his chair and watch telly. To be honest he has gone to work today but it is a sitting down job, bless him.
My stepson and his cousin are visiting today.need to get on and find homes for all the stuff in the kitchen out of the shed.He has asked for banoffee pie.Result no cooking.I love cooking but not when I am pressed for time.
No abdominal pain for the past few days.I am beginning to wonder if it is psychosymatic.
Have a nice day folks xxx:0 -
good morning, l cant believe how long it is since l last posted, but l have missed so much! did a mega catch up, but have forgotten who did/said/celebrated/bought/went/so just say 'well done, congratulations and better luck next time' as appropriate. Seeds and plants seem to be all over the house just now, as it is still a bit cold to put them in the unheated greenhouse. Fortunately there is no one here to twine about it all!
I bought DGS 2 pairs of PJ bottoms for his Christmas eve parcel, just hope he doesn't get much taller this year. (he is 13 and already takes a size 11 shoe and a 13 trainer. Stands at 6 feet tall, so surely cant get much bigger?
Tickets booked for China in June, can hardly wait.
DGS gave the lawn its first cut of the year on Thursday after school, then went over it with feed to green it up a bit.
You seem to have horrid receptionists at some of your surgeries, we are so lucky, ours are all lovely, and try to be helpful but they cannot magic up appointments that aren't there. (They are good at saying they will get the doctor to ring you, and make sure they do) .
Sunshine again today, so l will do some more outside garden stuff after Skype.
Fave Cous sent her future DDIL round yesterday to sort out my computer and put a thing called what zapp on my phone, which l apparently need, and will love, for messages and photos. She omitted to show me how to do the photo thing so l will need more help.
Have a lovely Sunday, rest, take the meds and pamper yourself. xx0
