Evening everyone, well the Creme Egg Rocky Road did set phew!!!! So that and the Twix Brownies are all cut up and put into tins and DS can pick up on his way to work in the morning, its so weird him still not being here i feel as if i have gone back a few years to when he was at Uni :rotfl:Tomorrow i want to concentrate on cleaning right through and baking a Chocolate Fudge Cake and some Jaffa Cake Cupcakes so that i can relax and feel like i am having a lovely Easter break.
LINZ congratulations my lovely, when is baby due? I dont blame you getting everything sorted before baby comes
VULPIX hope you are ok after your injections and not in too much pain!

Oh Linz,how lovely,congratulations.x
Knees done.It was horrible but actually not as bad as my ankle which I have had done previously. They are stinging and just feel bruised at the moment, she said to take it easy for a couple of days. She also said I had small delicate kneecaps, well! that'll be the only thing about me that is small and delicate then!
Free, cooking and baking is not cheap but is so much nicer than ready made.I love cooking too,I look on it as my hobby.I don't drink or smoke or go out much so it gives me pleasure to make good food for my family.I am going to whizz through with some cleaning tomorrow and then make a creme egg chocolate cake. Will put chocolate ganash on top.Youngest will make some crispie cake nests, she finishes school early tomorrow.I have decided to do a bacon and chicken pasta dish as a full dinner will be too much if I am supposed to be taking it easy.We will put some Easter decs up that I have found when unpacking stuff from the move last year. Some wooden eggs from Poland, some blossom with little wooden decs and a little basket with 2 fluffy chicks in.
Free, where is your son? have I missed something?
I have sold 4 things on eeeebay tonight and made £70 for the spends pot for Canada.Must take more photos and stick some more on.I have also sold some bits on fb too.it all helps.I dont do the savings like you lot do but we do save all our copper, that gives us about £20 a year.
Going to the first car boot of the year on Sunday if it's fine.I pick up bargains for gifts and sometimes stuff I sell on at a profit, that's how I make my pin money.Gives us little extras we wouldn't have otherwise.
No decorating for me 'till after Easter now.
Have a lovely break everyone Vxxx:0 -
freespirit oh I know what you mean, I love baking but sometimes it's so much more costly than buying ready made! I'm planning to make some chocolate hot cross buns (I hate raisins/sultanas!) but I know the ingredients cost way more than buying ready made! Although we should still keep baking, it's something we enjoy doing and most of the time it tastes a lot better and it's lovely giving people something you've made yourself. I'm like vulpix, I don't spend much on other things so it evens out. Your bakes sound amazing, I wish we could have them virtually!
Thanks for asking about DH's back, he hasn't seen a physio for a couple of weeks and he's feeling it. I think he needs more treatment but he probably won't get any now until we move. He is doing better in terms of being able to pick Wiggle up etc, but he does need to be careful! How is everything with your DD?
linz congratulations on the pregnancy! I hope it all goes well for you. Good idea to get organised, you'll feel a lot less stressed by the end of the year.
vulpix glad your injections went well, i'm sure you're glad they're over! Take it easy and let them recover.
Not sure what i'm going to be doing today, all of the toddler groups have stopped now for the Easter holidays so I have a free day. It's looking a bit grey outside though! I've got to pop to town to get some food so that'll keep us busy for an hour or so! I'm looking forward to putting my Easter tablecloth on the table tomorrow and I have some light up eggs to put somewhere, I did have grand plans to make some decorations but what with all the house stuff I haven't got around to it! I'll make more effort next year when we're in our new house. I hope everyone has a good day today. x0 -
Congratulations LINZ, that's lovely news.
VULPIX well done on getting through your injections, hope they give you a long period of relief from pain once they e settled down.
FREE your bakes sound amazing. DH makes a fab plain cake but I don't bake at all, much to the relief of those that know me although I do make a splendid apple crumble.
PRINCESSKITTY glad you had a lovely time at Center Parcs. When you're in your new house you'll have the Woburn Forest one just up the road. I've only been there for the day spa but it was great.
CHRISSY, hope DD gets an op date very soon.
FEISTY I would think the little one will be making sure you take quite a few steps each day!
I'm doing ok, trying a new painkiller regime today as the iboprofen are now giving me indigestion. Very disappointed though that I'm not fit enough to have DGD in the Easter holidays like I usually do. I'll still see her at least once but it's not quite the same.:(It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Ooo all the baking sounds amazing!!
thanks for the congrats, ive word out to be due around 10th november so nee to have everything dun in case i have to have csection again! Xx0 -
Congratulations Linz, I've been busy baking today for the Easter weekend. I've made a batch of Easter biscuits as I'm not keen on the shop brought ones. And I have also made chocolate chip muffins some white and some milk chocolate. I can guarantee they will be half gone by Saturday:rotfl:
Not a lot going on Christmas wise except making endless lists from budgets to potential gift ideas. I'm saving up survey and cashback to spend on gifts that I will get throughout the year, that way I can save some money. In the middle of last night (midnight) due to fibro pain I did come up with a few good idea for gifts for my mum, She is a fan of jack vettriano so I thought I could get her one of his artwork pictures and frame it, for her main present. Just have to do some measuring up and decide what size to get, but I will get that nearer Christmas. I had a word with a friend and we both agreed to only buy each other cards and not presents this year for Christmas as we both can't afford it. We decided to meet up for a coffee and a cake and exchange cards instead, so one less person to buy for.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Evening everyone, i didnt get everything done on my list today, i felt rotten as i didnt sleep too well last night with pain again and tabs didnt seem to work as well as usual or knock me out, although i never stopped but hey ho i will just do the last bits tomorrow, however i cleaned enough to put my few easter decs up and out, i wasnt very happy with how my cake came out, i made a chocolate fudge drip cake, but the drips just dont look very tidy, it was 3 cakes put together as well so took a lot of time and effort
i just hope it tastes good. DS said my baking sold really quickly at work so that has cheered me up
VULPIX well done you! How long will these injections last? I hope you feel relief asap. DS is housesitting for his friend while she is on a delayed honeymoon and looking after her cat. How did your cake turn out? Were you ok standing so long with your knees? Well done on the ebay sales, it all helps doesnt it??
PRINCESSKITTY yes i am the same with baking as you and VULPIX it is a hobby, and i dont spend on going out either, i just love baking for the kids, always have done! I hope DH can rest his back a bit this weekend, and glad he can pick Wiggle up now. DD2 finally got her results back on Monday, it wasnt good, she has a lot of wear and tear on the discs at the bottom, 2 of them are bulging out, and he thinks where she is compensating for the scoliosis curve at the top of her back she now has a curve at the bottom and thinks this is the main cause of pain to her lower back. He has offered her injections again but also mentioned about her going back to Oxford to see about having her back straightened, this is a big op so she really has to think about it and the consequences.
PEPPAPIG mmm i love making apple crumble, glad you are feeling better and better each day, there will be plenty of time to be with DGD when you are fit and well, DD2 has put Thumper into nursery another day a week so that i only have him one day from after Easter as she is so worried about me being in pain and i feel terrible a) i will really miss having him and b) the extra expense for them, but on the other hand i dont want to keep letting her down
LINZ aww that is quite nice you can get the first foggy few weeks out of the way
TREASUREQUEEN i hope your biscuits turned out nicely, i am needing just 50p for a £15 payout atm on surveys, i sympathise with you with the fibro i hope you are in less pain tonight

hi have been reading but not posting as l have done nowt Christmassy. However l have bought easter rabbits for the nibs, andsox with bunnies on them for the baby.
Gosh, injections into kneecap spaces sounds like torture, V, you are very very brave!
Freespirit, your DD seems to be between a rock and a hard place, with her back problems hope something good happens for her!
Peppa, know what you mean about not being able to have DGD, it sucks! hope the new meds work well and quickly.
Linz congratulations, what lovely news.
Fave niece has just been with baby, spent a lovely morning with them, so looking forward to having her every Tuesday when mummy goes back to work! That's the plan, anyway.
DD got another bleeping form to fill in for ESA, Do they really think that a hereditary, degenerative condition is going to get BETTER? l wish!!! just more hoops and hurdles to negotiate.
More washing to put out too so off l trot. have a lovely relaxing painfree family friendly easter xxx0 -
Peppa it was the Woburn Forest one we went to. We actually went to see the progress of our new build before going there and it took us less than five minutes! I'm sure we'll go there again though as you could literally be anywhere and we won't have the long journey either side! I do hope your new painkiller regime works for you, I know it must be hard not having the grandnibs around like usual, but I do hope you really enjoy the time you do spend with them.
Treasurequeen time is usually so much more precious than gifts, so it's lovely you're going to spend some quality time with your friend for Christmas.
freespirit oh gosh I can imagine that is a very big decision for you DD to make. I imagine she would be out of action for some time if she went ahead with it? Lots of things have a knock-on effects in the body don't they? You just don't realise what's going on sometimes! Glad to hear your cakes sold quickly, they sounded delicious! I'm sure your chocolate fudge cake will taste great, but I know it's disappointing when they don't look like they're supposed to even after making lots of effort!
mrsinvisible I hope all the hurdles and hoops are out of the way for your DD soon! What a pain for her.
Wow what lovely weather today! I popped to a friends house this morning as she was having a little birthday get-together and we were out in the garden which was nice. I put my Easter tablecloth on this morning and have filled some jam jars with yellow carnations to go in the middle. I've hung some light up eggs around the noticeboard that is near the table and that's the extent of my decorations! We're off out this afternoon to take Wiggle on a train for the first time! We're just going to a nearby town for an hour or so, it's a 20 minute journey each way, hopefully he'll like it!0 -
Evening everyone, its been a lovely bright day here today, i felt very spring like this morning, and that is from a person who sunshine doesnt affect
I popped out to get some fresh veg for our family easter lunch on sunday and bought some beautiful spring/multicoloured tulips today, they look gorgeous on the table with the other easter bits. I only got one thing done off my cleaning list today, the body just wasnt willing so will try again tomorrow, I will be on my own as DD1 is going to London for the day.
MRSINVISIBLE thankyou re: DD2, oh your poor DD i just dont understand why they do it, where does the common sense go?? From what i heard on the news and in the budget it seems it is only to get worse, they should be ashamed of themselves
PRINCESSKITTY mmm i have just had a slice and it is very nice, sending some over virtually to youaww i hope Wiggle enjoys his train journey and you have a nice afternoon out
