  • SHORTANDSWEET - welcome to the thread. They really are a lovely bunch :-)

NewThrift - dont go into pinterest - you will never get back out!

Chrissy - can also confirm that the 3 for 2 in Argos is on soon *cough* employee *cough* - which means it will be manic! I'm just waiting to see what the must have toy is this year after Pie Face went mental last year!

White Satin - no idea about Xmas cakes but I wanted to say hello!

Free - dont get me started on that game! Apparently the new one is released in October and it focuses more on raising livestock!:eek::eek::eek: I spent a whole weekend in Southampton with him pointing out silage in the fields.....which is hay wrapped in the black PVC stuff that basically rots down and is fed to cows!:eek::eek::eek::eek: and there is extra downloads to get you more attachements and maps! :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
Its our 2 year wedding anniversary on the 26th.........whether we reach a 3rd will be debatable if he carries on! :rotfl:

nic - hope your head is feelign less delicate

pavlovs - thanks for updating the list

mrs-moneypenny - I dont know who Frank Turner is :( so ill run for cover now before you start throwing things at me - but I hope you enjoy your treat with your family either way :)

murie - I am the same! I get lost on MSE or sidetracked and then wonder where half the day went and why Im still in PJs! let alone brushed my hair!

Well Ive been to work today and was only commenting to my workmate (we both christmas temped there last year) that Im looking forward to Xmas because the shop is so busy and I like to be kept busy.
I am still suffering with this cold bug.....Im having nightmares too which isnt very pleasant and Im wakign up feelign horrid and dry mouthed so I think I am dehydrated - the heating isnt on and the windows open but because I keep getting hot sweats I think Im dehydrating in my sleep. Also saw every hour from 3am and then lost my rag at 5.25 knowing hubbys alarm was going to go off at 5.30 because he was working away in Swindon today. Either way not pleasant so going to make a point of having enough water before bed and taking a bottle with me......you can await the I got up XYZ number of times last night to pee post tomorrow.
    So Im shattered now.

I have also learnt that Day Nurse does not agree with me.......Im pretty sure I was hearing colours yesterday at one point which was rather freaky so wont be taking that again - paracetemol and hot orange all the way I think. That said workmate seems to have had a similiar cold bug last week so I think we are all sharing at the minute. Also found out today that our warehouse has fleas in it - not the pet type - but still :(:(:(:(

Also went in and saw the little milk crates today - we have them in our poundland.....so I will grab a few of those on Tuesday when Im paid for presents for mum and sister.

I think it was MURIE who commented on her sweets of choice- yes she is a bit weird in her tastes but shes a bit weird anyway.

Not much Xmas planning done today but I think I have an idea for my SNOW CHALLENGE - just need to get it done now
    Time to find me again
  • SHORTANDSWEET welcome to the thread. Laura Ashley have some nice bits on the Christmas page but the prices aren't very MSE. Saying that I bookmark the things I like and hope they are in the sales, and then I get them at reduced cost for the next years gifts.

the storm the other night was awful it went on for nearly three and a half hours. Everywhere was partially flooded and the back garden was like a bog. I have been kicked out of the lounge as the men want to watch a war film so I am on here whilst sipping my cinnamon hot chocolate. I decided to get the Christmas planner by busy b and whilst I was on amazon I noticed busy b have a new Christmas planner design out this year so I bought that design. I also got my mum the other design as she is always losing her lists and forgetting what she's bought and isn't very good with the computer. Cashed in my survey money so used that towards the planners. Worked out £8.50 each planner which is better value.

Decorating of the lounge is all finished now just got to add the decorative accessories and then its all finished. :j My new build home has been extended so looks like I will be moving end of November. So I am glad that ive got a few Christmas presents already sorted. Just a few more cards to get and then Christmas cards will be finished. I have got wrap, bows and gift tags left over from last year and what I bought in the sales.

Hello Christmas people, nice to hear from you all.

I have spent another day in the garden, just laying of stone slabs to do now.You are right Murie,I enjoy a project. It is all done whilst sat on my derriere.Paragardening! My friend is having a clear out in her garden and has offered me lots of plants.Yes please! Plants are soooo expensive.

I have not begun my Snow craft but I deliberately chose a very simple one this month.I am desperate to finish the garden before the weather breaks.I am so busy, birthdays n social stuff and hospital visits too.

    Love to all Vx

Its been a couple of nice days. Ŵent out with some friends last night. Had a lovely night with good chat and cocktails. Feeling a tad fragile today. But going out for a family meal later. I will be driving anyway as have the kids, thankfully as I don't think I could face a glass of wine.

my tesco had more reduced stuff. I got DS and DD1 little speakers for their iPods that look like a frog and a ladybird. And dd1 a selfie stick. Just fun things for their stockings. They also had kenwood food processors down from £30 to £5. I got the last one as a moving in gift for my sister.

Does anyone know how you get the wee Christmad tree badge icon? It's says you get it from using Megashopbot. I use it all the time but the badge hasn't even appeared. It makes me feel festive so I want one lol.

Send a PM to MSE Badger and ask for the Christmas badge with an explanation as to why you think you have earned one.

FREE glad you had a good time with Thumper, I never thought having grandchildren could be so much fun! Mind you I loved it when my own girls were small, I really missed it when they got too big to pick up and cuddle so now I get to do it all again even if the DGSs aren't that keen on big cuddles, at least DGD is. Re the pressie, I think I'd unwrap and check, especially as you know problems are being reported. I know it's a faff but better hassle now than problem pressie on the big day.

Loving the idea of paragardening VULPIX. I never really 'got' the whole Paralympics thing (probably because I see sport more as a punishment than a challenge) but now I really do, it's not really the sport is it, it's about doing what you want to do and overcoming the challenges to make it happen.

TREASUREQUEEN you're certainly going to be busy in the run up to the big day, best nail those pressies now lol. You and PRINCESSKITTY can compare moving stories. How lovely for you to be in your new houses for Christmas though. Have you decided where your tree us going?

Ha ha at your DH SAMMYKAYE, my DD lives those sort of games, to me they're just stress!

PRINCESSKITTY my DD has been to Butlins with the littlies for the last two holidays and she says the same, so much for the little ones to do. Eldest littley (4) Cali's it Butlins by the sea - think maybe he watches too many tv ads!

Well I've woken up with indigestion and a headache this morning. It's DH's birthday today and we're going out for lunch with the family so both had better disappear very soon if I am not going to be happy!

My Christmas books have arrived yay! They're:

    Debbie Macomber - Mr Miracle
Debbie Macomber - Dashing through the Snow
Abby Clements - Meet Me Under the Mistletoe
Sarah Morgan - Sleigh Bells in the Snow
Carole Matthews - The Chocolate Lovers Christmas
Jenny Colgan - The Christmas Surprise

Hope they're not all romantic mush lol, I like a good Christmassy story.

Have a happy Sunday everyone, back on tonight.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Morning all

Well I am feeling mighty organised this morning if I do say so albeit in some pain.
Im still full of cold and husband in his wisdom decided that now would be a good time for us to start working out together. So I have now done two days of lifting weights with my hubby....and to say my arms are feeling it is an understatement - so my shifts for the next few days should be fun being that a large portion of my job is lifting!
Also decided to get my weight in check and will be heading to my first slimming world class on Tuesday  I need to know I have to justify myself so I think it will help shift the pounds.

Also feel a bit better - Im not sure if its the cold/fever ---- but Ive been waking up dry mouthed and dehydrated feeling the last few mornings but Ive also had a few weird nights. I think it is some kind of sleep paralysis. I think Im awake, then I see a dark scary shadow of a man over me, and he reaches out to touch me but I cant move or scream and I can feel myself forcing it......I actually managed to make a 'MAH' sound yesterday morning and startled the hubby. Not pleasant at all but I didnt have it last night so Im hoping its gone and its from the bug. Very scary though.

Was good this morning though although not optionally! Went to make french toast for us all, and realised I had 4 slices of bread....1 slice for each of the kids, 2 for hubby and then I used the left over egg and had scrambled egg :T

Also have defrosted sausages to make a casserole with this morning with the intent of putting boiled pots on when Im home at 4 for tea tonight....

Vulpix - hope your gardening is going well

Treasure and Princess - I hope your settling in quickly and finding places for all your things....I told hubby next time we move house I want a bay window - for no other purpose than that I want to put the christmas tree in it!

Peppa - oh the book sound fab. Im not a fan of romantic mush either. Ill await your reviews! I want to start readign more - I think I am going to start with a few classics though first - I was given How To Kill A Mockingbird by a friend which Ive never read (not even in school) so I think I might start with that.
Sidenote - RE Games - hes even been talking about buying a flat cap!:eek::eek: which is quite ironic since he mentioned hats the other day and was wearign his friends straw trilby hat ---- and since a second wedding anniversary is Straw - thats what Ive brought him :rotfl:

Free - shopbot is a price comparison bot through MSE - thats how you get the Christmas tree badge on your profile.......

Spring - I have emailed MSE Badger as well just to enquire about mine! Thank you!

Right - am off to check my sausages and get this casserole made then on to sort out the mountain of clothes before my shift this afternoon

    Have a good sunday all

  • Hi all, I have tried to read back as best I can but I have caught Wiggle’s cold and we’ve had a few bad nights sleep here so I’m running a bit on empty and can’t retain everything! Sorry if I have missed anything. Wiggle has turned into a little monster in the last week, it’s like he went to bed one day a sweet, well behaved little boy and woke up a little monkey! He just doesn’t listen to anything we say and getting him to do anything is a mega battle! It’s really tiring and hard work when I’m not feeling well either, I’m dreading tomorrow a little bit as DH is going back to work! DH has taken him to his parents this afternoon though so I’m treating myself by catching up on here, having a foot spa and watching The Holiday!

I am a bit gutted about GBBO moving to Channel 4, now we get to see less of the programme and lots of adverts! I also love Mel and Sue and will really miss them. If BBC could come up with another show featuring all the same presenters it would be great but I’m not sure that’ll happen. Here’s hoping!

Right I’m going to have a little browse now at all of the Christmas sites some of you have kindly provided the links for.

    Welcome all newbies!

Treasurequeen What is your name on IG? I couldn’t see it at the start of the thread. I'm sure i'm probably following you but I can't remember what it is!

Peppa lovely idea re the shoe boxes, that’s such a positive thing to do. As I’m not far from you I’m happy to help in any way I can. I’m glad you managed to have your 8th chemo ok. Bless your DGD! I suppose Butlins is by the sea! :p

murie I’m sorry to hear about your DD and her BF, I hope you will all feel better soon about it. It’s so lovely of you to take him in like that.

vulpix sorry to hear about your DD’s BF’s Grandma. I always get really sad when I hear about older people who have passed away but my DH always reminds me that they are the lucky ones.

OMO good to hear from you! I’m glad to hear the move went well, I hope you are all settling in ok.

Clumsy sorry to hear you have a health problem, I do hope you feel better soon.

Fiesty good to hear from you, the chutney looks lovely! I love the idea of a PYO pumpkin farm! When we were driving to Bultins we went past a pumpkin field and it was a wonderful sight, I’ve never seen one before! I’m afraid I don’t know how long pumpkins last. I always feel bad as I end up throwing the pumpkin out after carving as I never know what to do with it. I couldn’t eat it as soup or anything like that, I might try and see if I can find a sweet recipe this year.

mrs-moneypenny good to hear from you, good luck with your teaching assistant course.
