04624681 CONGRATULATIONS on the job !!
Kaya- I second what elliew says- just remember to breathe and you will be Ok x
Feisty- happy sewing!
Whitesatin/Vulpix- that's a massive decision for a christmasaholic- keep strong girlies!
its the time of year when all those nasty little germs are breeding away like mad trying to bring us down with bugs galore- I always get get the multi vitamin stash out around September.
Newthrift- congrats on your first year of marriage- before you know it you will be at 30 like we are- the tine just goes by so quickly its scary!
I did a little bit of Christmas crafting yesterday for Connors advent calendar so I did feel quite festive.
Peppa/Mrs I- you Ok?lovin' this site!

Woo hoo, congratulations 0462, well done you, hope you have a fabulous first day and lots more lovely days afterwards - and wages yay!
PINKSTEPS I do hope the guttering gets done soon so you can get on. It's bad enough feeling poorly without the frustration of jobs needing to be done. Well done on your Christmas prep, I've got lots of ideas but not much action!
ELEGANTELEPHANT welcome to the thread. Apologies if you joined earlier and I missed you but I'm sure I'd have remembered your name lol.
KAYA just take driving as it comes, it's not really natural to start with because you're constantly thinking about changing gear, potential hazards, not stalling etc but honestly it does all become much more natural as time goes on and you'll find it much less stressful. I can't believe how long I've been driving now - I passed my test in 1977!!!!
WHITESATIN, NIC, VULPIX I'm limiting myself to some glass tree baubles - either the new Cath Kidston robin ones or the house ones that M&S have. Nothing else, I really want to cut down on clutter so ahead of Christmas I'm having a major clear out and sending everything I no longer actually need or use to the charity shop!
MURIE have you started your snow challenge again? I bet you still finish before me. Still looking at kittens and dogs but making no headway lol. Doing ok, had a bit of a meltdown last night but think I must have needed it as I do feel a bit brighter today. I have my 'look good feel better' session this afternoon, it's about looking better to feel better (obviously) and apparently I get lots of posh freebies so I'm looking forward to that. I might buy myself some flowers too! I do need to find a way to relax and stop stressing about the small stuff - I'm hoping the decluttering will help clear my mind too.
FEISTY I'm surprised you can function at all being woken up multiple times every night! Good luck with the return to work. Positive vibes to DH.
I've almost finished doing up DGD's dolls house so just need to find somewhere to hide it now! We've told everyone that anything she gets for Christmas this year is going home with her - we're all out of spare room!
I think I need to stop looking on the local FB vintage and hand made sites too, I'm buying more than I'm clearing out at the moment. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
04624681 congrats on the job, that's my main role as well.
Hope all ae well, I've been round mils, dropped off some birthday cakes for her lunch group and got suck into doI some cleaning and sorting for her, so after work I'll need to at catch up here.SPC~12 ot 124
In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
peppa- no haven't re visited the snow craft challenge yet, I may change my mind altogether yet and do something else.
If you are feeling a bit better this morning then the meltdown was probably overdue and can only have been a good thing. Try to enjoy the session this afternoon and make the most of the freebie treats. Flowers are always a good way to brighten yourself up I think so go on splash out.
What sort of de stressing ideas are you considering to focus on (apart from decluttering)? One of the lovelies on here may have some suggestions.
Mrs Money penny- busy as ever xlovin' this site!

I’ve got a bit of a head fog at the moment so sorry if none of this makes sense, I think I misspelled most things when typing – thank goodness for spell checker! I haven’t come out in a cold like Wiggle but I’ve definitely got a virus of some sort, the back of my throat and nose isn’t sore but it is uncomfortable and I’m mega tired! I would like to stay in this afternoon but I’ll have to see how Wiggle behaves. It’s not easy as DH works from home so if Wiggle has a meltdown like he seems to be doing a lot lately then the sound travels right up the stairs!
nic I’m afraid I don’t know anything about private car reg’s. I hope you haven’t got a cold!
Lazysheep you’re so good at supplying us with lists/web links when we need them – thanks for always helping us out!
GTQ I have the same problems with my ears, have had it since I was 16. It’s such a pain! I hate it if it gets to the stage where they need syringing, sometimes it seems to happen no matter what I do. I’ve just had hopi ear candles and they were really good at helping the wax out! I hope your arm gets better and you won’t need to go to the doctors.
Kaya I was a bag of nerves before my driving test but on the actual day I woke up quite calm. I had a nice bath in the morning to help keep me relaxed. I think in the back of my mind I knew that I knew how to drive and it got me through it. I know it’s easy to say but try not to think about it too much. Get some nice treats for afterwards, whether you're celebrating or commiserating! You will be fine either way. Good luck!
whitesatin as much as I love Christmas I don’t want to buy loads of stuff this year either. You just end up with tonnes of stuff! Or you have to get rid of stuff you’ve already got, which I find really hard with Christmas stuff! Although I will be in a new house this Christmas so i'm sure i'll end up having some nooks and crannies that need a new decoration!
newthrift wow I cannot believe it’s been a year since you got married!! I remember so clearly you keeping us all up to date on all of your prep! Happy anniversary, I hope you had a lovely day.
Fiesty thanks but Wiggle still has his cold, although he’s generally in good spirits. I REALLY need to use my sewing machine, I literally bought it about 2 years ago and have never used it! Great idea looking on YouTube for videos. There’s a lady not far from me that does lessons around her kitchen table with tea and cake which I LOVE the sound of, but she can only have 5 people on each course and I keep missing out. She’s releasing some more course dates in October so I’m hoping I can finally nab a space!
04624181 congratulations on your new job! :T That’s great news! I hope it all goes well, it’s good it’s in school hours too.0 -
Someone mentioned on here a little while ago (sorry can't remember who) a Christmas card swap, i'm not sure how it works but happy to take part. x0
-
Thanks for all your kind wishes and advice for my driving test - I'll do my best!
Elliew8 - totally agreed on the autumn front! It's actually quite humid here in Brighton today but it's nice and overcast too - I'm so ready to be back in boots and coats now!
Princesskitty29 - that's the thing, I know I know how to drive, I'm just so worried I'll get flummoxed by something silly on the day! I'd be absolutely fine if it were just me on the roads, it's just responding to other people's crazy behaviour that I sometimes struggle with!
Can anyone recommend any nice autumnal films to watch/books to read? I want to throw myself into the season0 -
046 -Good luck in new job
Kaya - I will swear to my dying day that I hit the kerb when doing the turn in road, as this was a failure, I just went through the motions to get through it. Imagine my shock when he told me I had passed! I think I relaxed as I thought I failed.
PrincessK, not heard of those candles before, will invest!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Hello
I still need to read a bit further back but I have read though the last couple days so feeling slightly more up to date.
0462 - Congratulations on your new job
Nic - Private plates are so lovely but it does take a lot of persistence to find one that you like for the price you want to pay. I suggest weekly visits on the website. We found one but then decided to hold off. Fingers crossed you find a nice one
PK - Thank you, we had a lovely meal and a relaxing evening at home opening cards. Plus I got a beautiful bunch of flowers which he had delivered to me at work (turns out he had to come up with a lie to keep me at the office between 1&2pm for the delivery :rotfl:) Hope whatever bug you have gotten goes away soon.
pinksteps, free & mruie you are testing my will power with all the lovely cakes you keep posting:cool: (IG)
Haven't looked at the Christmas areas online much yet but I did see a list of whose got things out (sorry I can't remember who posted it off the top of my head) and I plan to have a scroll later.
Need to find some PJ's my SIL but not sure what style she prefers so going to ask the question then get searching.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi,
I have loads to catch up on. Been feeling a bit dizzy the last few days so found it difficult to read all the posts I missed.
Solicitors still very slow regarding the house. Calling them every day now to hurry them along.
Am going to buy the OH lots of clothes from ASOS for Christmas as he never really spends on himself and desperately needs new shoes / coat etc. Just waiting for a discount code.
Peppa - Glad to hear you've put your foot down regarding the spare room
04624181 - Congrats on the job, sounds great
Feisty - oh no, what a shame about the jam. I always have cooking mishaps and hate the waste it causes. Does show how much work goes in to baked / cooked gifts though.
kaya - good luck with the driving test. I'm starting lessons after Christmas - out of necessity. I have no desire to drive and think I will hate it. I can totally understand you wanting to pass as soon as possible, it's so expensive when you add it all up.
ellie - How did the surgery go? Has it happened yet?0
