04624181 we overlapped in posts this morning, congratulations!!! :T
oh and Cherry no, not yet it's Saturday!! :eek:I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Cherry - I only started lessons because I thought I should, I have absolutely no need or desire to drive when (if!) I pass! I'm not even thinking about how much the whole shebang has cost me so far... no chance I could afford a car after all this anyway!
Can I just say how impressed I am with how everyone in this thread keeps up with the conversation?! It never fails to amaze me.
I've just drawn the curtains for the night and lit a candle... definitely feeling autumnal now.0 -
Happy Anniversary Newthrift. How lovely to get flowers at work.Lucky girl.I have been to Matlock today. There were some nice fluffy Christmas PJ's @£12.Mr V at work at the mo.Will ask him the name of the shop n let you know.
I have decided that I do not need a Christmas train.I had one years ago and got rid of it so I do not need another one.The Christmas tree for the porch...
FF,lol at Jamie Oliver crush.Just to make you jealous I have had a hug and kiss from him.He is much bigger in RL than he seems on TV.Grim the lack of sleep.I was that soldier. It does get better, honest.
04624 congratulations.Well Done on the new job.So nice to do something for yourself and get paid too.
Peppa hope you are feeling better still. It is only to be expected,it is a stressful time you are going through. All this waiting for bloods and treatment. It is stressful when things are out of your control. Not much longer now,I hope.x
Kaya.Be positive,You can do it.Go girl.
Cherry it feels like time stands still when you are waiting for solicitors, arg!
Ellie, god luck if thats what you say.I am not the best at expressing myself but the sentiment is there.
Free I forgot to say you did well with your early visitor.Hope you are well.x

HIYA:j
Sorry I have been absent I hope you will forgive me when you find out why......
I HAVE A JOB!!!!!
I have not worked in nearly 7 years. When my daughter was 3 and had started school nursery it was always my plan to get back into working with children but then my spinal problems arose. 3 years 2 spinal operations and a car accident later I am starting work today!!
Its a midday supervisor at my daughters school. I am SO excited! I have been filling paperwork in, looking for certificates and generally preparing myself.
Will try and catch up properly tonight with a nice cup of tea. Just wanted to let you all know im still here
:j:beer::T Congratulations lovely! :T:beer::jWoo hoo, congratulations 0462, well done you, hope you have a fabulous first day and lots more lovely days afterwards - and wages yay!
PINKSTEPS I do hope the guttering gets done soon so you can get on. It's bad enough feeling poorly without the frustration of jobs needing to be done. Well done on your Christmas prep, I've got lots of ideas but not much action!
ELEGANTELEPHANT welcome to the thread. Apologies if you joined earlier and I missed you but I'm sure I'd have remembered your name lol.
KAYA just take driving as it comes, it's not really natural to start with because you're constantly thinking about changing gear, potential hazards, not stalling etc but honestly it does all become much more natural as time goes on and you'll find it much less stressful. I can't believe how long I've been driving now - I passed my test in 1977!!!!
WHITESATIN, NIC, VULPIX I'm limiting myself to some glass tree baubles - either the new Cath Kidston robin ones or the house ones that M&S have. Nothing else, I really want to cut down on clutter so ahead of Christmas I'm having a major clear out and sending everything I no longer actually need or use to the charity shop!
MURIE have you started your snow challenge again? I bet you still finish before me. Still looking at kittens and dogs but making no headway lol. Doing ok, had a bit of a meltdown last night but think I must have needed it as I do feel a bit brighter today. I have my 'look good feel better' session this afternoon, it's about looking better to feel better (obviously) and apparently I get lots of posh freebies so I'm looking forward to that. I might buy myself some flowers too! I do need to find a way to relax and stop stressing about the small stuff - I'm hoping the decluttering will help clear my mind too.
FEISTY I'm surprised you can function at all being woken up multiple times every night! Good luck with the return to work. Positive vibes to DH.
I've almost finished doing up DGD's dolls house so just need to find somewhere to hide it now! We've told everyone that anything she gets for Christmas this year is going home with her - we're all out of spare room!
I think I need to stop looking on the local FB vintage and hand made sites too, I'm buying more than I'm clearing out at the moment.
Thank you
Cherry, solicitors are the worst! We almost lost our house as the solicitor wasn't doing their job and blaming the other side. We then found out from our lovely estate agent that it was our solicitor causing the hold ups and lying! Keep on to them daily, it's a pain, but worth it
Newthrift happy anniversary! Lovely husband getting you flowers
Vulpix, I am VERY jealous lol[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Morning,
I am sat in my car while DD does a bit more independance training this time in Tesco .
I think we had a prowler last night the dog went ape just after 1am couldnt see anyone but theres some kind of sticky residue on the shed lock fortunately the dog sounds like a rottweiler not the dumpy terrier he really is
Christmas wise we sat and wrapped everything up yesterday. A mamoth task but its done. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well done your little dog Chrissy.I am not knowledgeable in the ways of burglers, sounds decidedly dodgy what they have done to the shed lock.
I am in awe of your Christmas wrapping.
Your daughter is doing well.I do similar with our DD2.She insists on keeping her purse in her bag until asked for money then undoes the bag, undoes the purse and counts out the money. You can feel the queues impatience.lol at them. She went to her Grans on the train by herself on Saturday. We put her on this end and she was met at the other end.She even said she got up and moved because a group of young people were being too noisy.Yay.
Just came on to say the shop is The original Factory Shop. They have a website. Also where my son lives in Banff,Canada they had their first proper snow yesterday.

Oh Chrissy, glad Charlie scared them off but if I was the burglar I'd just be thankful that you never got hold. We've had burglaries all around but thankfully we have three houses in a row with dogs so they start each other off and sound like a pack of wolves at times, much to Mr and Mrs snobby neighbour on the other sides annoyance.
Have you finished in Tesco car park yet, hope it's all gone well.0 -
Morning all
Nothing too Christmassy going on here...I've got saved baskets in Matalan and a few others still waiting for discount codes. I bought a new handbag for myself yesterday though since mine broke, nice little treat for myself - I blame payday!
Kaya I'm looking forward to getting out the winter boots, I've also got a super soft snood that I can't wait to get out tooI struggle to keep up with the conversations too, I have to write it in a notepad as I read lol
Cherry keep on calling the solicitors - they will hate you but you're just making sure they do their job in a timely mannerI'll keep an eye out for an asos discount
Vulpix thank you! I'm really nervous but whatever happens happens
Chrissy did you just say you've wrapped all of your presents  I haven't even bought wrapping paper yet for this year lol glad your dog raised the alarm...this is just adding to the reasons I need a dog! Hope the independence training went smoothly
I've got a corporate go karting day tomorrow and I'm really excited!!! Will probably end up with some form of injury knowing me though lol
Hope everyone has a nice day and those with lurgies are on the mendI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Cherry – Hope the solicitors get a move on!
Kaya – Good luck with the lessons. I love driving and we have just recently had another car (we just have 1 between us) that will be family proof should any small feet arrive on the horizon…admittedly where we live now and where I grew up (only 10mins away) you have to drive otherwise you can’t get far.
Vulpix – Thank youI’ve just had to google where it was in Matlock as I didn’t realise the factory shop was there, but I know where it is any may go tomorrow. I will have a look where that is in relation to where my brother is (on the edge of Toronto I can’t spell the place haha).
Chrissy – Hope DD’s tesco shop went ok. That would give me the jeebies, glad that you dog scared them off, but does sound suspicious with the lock… Also well done on all the wrapping!!!
Ellie and Kaya – Don’t worry you get used to keeping up. I make myself notes on Word then copy it over when I post. Otherwise if I’m on my phone reading I have to make the odd notes as I can never remember everything!!
Ellie – Enjoy the go karting tomorrow, fingers crossed for no injuries.
Well I did a bit more reading last night. From what I can remember;
omo glad the move went well and lovely to see you post.
free sounds like you did alright with your early visitor
peppa fingers crossed all treatment will be done before christmas x
Princesskitty Hope little one is feeling a bit better.
I purchased some christmas cards the other day, all on offer, as I couldn't find any that took my fancy in the Jan sales. I feel very behind with shopping but we have my goddaughters christening this weekend and I am making the cake and 50 cupcakes  so I'm a bit side tracked with that at the moment.
I did manage to bake my Christmas cake last week and it smelt sooo nice in the kitchen. Noticed the nights are starting to draw in now, which means It's definitely time for my autumn/winter yankee candles to come back out and the summery one to go away.
Thanks for the anniversary wishesChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0
