Interesting to read everyone's solicitor experiences, I just wish they'd go at my pace and not theirs
Hopefully, (fingers crossed) going to get contracts signed and sent off today and hopefully we will exchange very very soon.
Going to pre-order Matt Haig's follow up to 'A Boy Called Christmas', it's called 'The Girl Who Saved Christmas'.
Also bought my first Christmas present, got the OH a desperately need winter coat so he's getting that as an early gift.
Gettingtherequickly - Sorry to hear you have shingles! I know it can be awful. Hope you recover soon.
Bonfire Bride - Welcome, we are doing the same with presents this year, will be a challenge but might make it more fun.
patentgirl - Welcome0 -
A great big Welcome to the newbies!
I got my John Lewis newsletter through the post yesterday and the Christmas shop is being launched on 1st October in stores. There are going to be lots of Instore demonstrations this year too. I will try and find out what and when they will be.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Morning,
I am sat in my car while DD does a bit more independance training this time in Tesco .
I think we had a prowler last night the dog went ape just after 1am couldnt see anyone but theres some kind of sticky residue on the shed lock fortunately the dog sounds like a rottweiler not the dumpy terrier he really is
Christmas wise we sat and wrapped everything up yesterday. A mamoth task but its done.
Oh dear, that really is a huge worry! It may be worth mentioning it to the community support police team? We also live in the middle of a row of dogs that set each other off, next time they are driving me mad I will try to remember they are a good burglar deterrent :rotfl:
Glad your DD did so well!Well done your little dog Chrissy.I am not knowledgeable in the ways of burglers, sounds decidedly dodgy what they have done to the shed lock.
I am in awe of your Christmas wrapping.
Your daughter is doing well.I do similar with our DD2.She insists on keeping her purse in her bag until asked for money then undoes the bag, undoes the purse and counts out the money. You can feel the queues impatience.lol at them. She went to her Grans on the train by herself on Saturday. We put her on this end and she was met at the other end.She even said she got up and moved because a group of young people were being too noisy.Yay.
Just came on to say the shop is The original Factory Shop. They have a website. Also where my son lives in Banff,Canada they had their first proper snow yesterday.
Vx
Aww bless your daughter! Teaching everyone a bit of patience is never a bad thing, so she's also providing a public serviceMorning all
Nothing too Christmassy going on here...I've got saved baskets in Matalan and a few others still waiting for discount codes. I bought a new handbag for myself yesterday though since mine broke, nice little treat for myself - I blame payday!
Kaya I'm looking forward to getting out the winter boots, I've also got a super soft snood that I can't wait to get out tooI struggle to keep up with the conversations too, I have to write it in a notepad as I read lol
Cherry keep on calling the solicitors - they will hate you but you're just making sure they do their job in a timely mannerI'll keep an eye out for an asos discount
Vulpix thank you! I'm really nervous but whatever happens happens
Chrissy did you just say you've wrapped all of your presents  I haven't even bought wrapping paper yet for this year lol glad your dog raised the alarm...this is just adding to the reasons I need a dog! Hope the independence training went smoothly
I've got a corporate go karting day tomorrow and I'm really excited!!! Will probably end up with some form of injury knowing me though lol
Hope everyone has a nice day and those with lurgies are on the mend
Enjoy your gokarting today!Afternoon all!
0462 - Congratulations! All the best for your new job. :T
CHRISSYG - Well done your dog! How awful though. Hope nothing else happens! xx
I bring news of Xmas products in the Asda Free From section. My little niece is dariy intolerant bless her, so we always have a look at the free from shelves. They had a gingerbread house kit that was dairy free and something else free. It was adorable! There was also xmas puds, cranberry and orange tiffin, and gingerbread men (or they migh have been Father Christmas shaped). Sorry I can't remember what they were all free from but they do have some of them on the website.
Still got my health problem. I'm waiting on my Drs appt next week. Might be getting a bit better anyway?? Touch wood!
Hope those under the weather feel better soon. And hope everything goes smoothly for the house movers!
I hope you start to feel better soon xsammy_kaye18 wrote: »Afternoon All
Well I started slimming world yesterday and nearly cried with the amount I weighed in at - I will get there though and shift some weight - need to feel better about myself and to be fair the weanign myself of junk will be a good thing in the long run as I eat far too much of it - surprising how much you can eat though! Crazy
Also had one of the gus from work acost me in the bus station - we very rarely talk as we only see each other in passing but he said its ridiculous in our store especially with the 3 for 2 starting (in Ar*os) on toys so he had been run off his feet upstairs with another lad Rich - trying to put away 50 boxes of toy delivery as well as filling peoples orders so my shift tomorrow may be an interesting one.....so Im looking forward to that :eek::eek: in fairness I probably will as I love it when it is busy there and the christmas period means Im not stood about bored!
Also have a nice weekend off so thats nice. I can actually unwind and catch up on sleep - Im still full of this cold so I have no idea whats going on. Although my !!!!! is in season at the minute and my boy knows it so its been fighting to keep them apart daily! Before you ask - hes too old to neuter (17 years) and she has a medical with her stomach and insides being twisted form a previous pregnancy and because the vets don't know how old she is for definite they wont operate. Needless to say Bruno performs like he did last night and he wont make it to 18 so I wouldnt worry!:mad::mad:
Also - need to finish my snow project but forgot to pick something up for them today so will get it done tomorrow.
Hope we are all well - didnt want to pop in and flit out - so will read back and catch up!
x
I always prefer to be busy too! I have my eye on a few 3for2 offers for little My, fingers crossed she likes them
Welcome to all the newbies!
I logged on to update you all on our work news (and get some moral support) but little My has just woken, so I will be back later x[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Well, having decided that I can no longer deal with the pain in my arm, I phoned surgery yesterday, appointment next Wednesday. Had to override that this morning and make an emergency appointment as I suspected and have now had it confirmed, I have shingles
Oh dear ! I had shingles when DD was 6 months old on my collar bone it hurt like hell. It always worried me that they said it would likely reoccur. So far it hasn't [touch wood]This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I popped into my local Tesco earlier and they had quite a few shelves of Christmas confectionery, not just the big tubs but all the little Christmas chocolates, Snow bites, Kinder Surprise, chocolate coins and biscuit tins etc! :T I usually start buying the food gifts I need in October so I’ll give it a couple of weeks and stock up, hopefully there’ll be some offers on then too.
Hello and welcome patentgirl and Bonfire Bride!
Clumsy I do hope your health problem is improving.
Sammy good luck with slimming world, it’s all small steps in the beginning.
whitesatin that sounds like a lovely present for your DGS.
GTQ oh no that sounds really unpleasant, I hope it clears up quickly for you.
Cherry I do hope the contracts get signed and sent off today!0 -
I'm afraid to say I'm half way through my present shopping. I have over 40 to buy for. Most of them small gifts but we do a proper family Christmas and not birthdays!
It has very much been a case of buying things as I see them. I learnt my lesson a few years ago when I got sort of organised by the end of October, so I relaxed.... then I got ill in early December and it was a huge rush and I really didn't enjoy December at all. I missed out on all the small things as I was so disorganised.
I'm not saying my way is the right way - just that it works for me.0 -

After a bit of a hassle with delivery my busy b Christmas planner has arrived today :j I can't wait to start filling it in. I was doing it all on the computer but my spreadsheet didn't save properly and I lost it. So now I will have it written down in my planner and won't need to worry about it being deleted. My Holland and Barrett Order came and the lip balm kit looks great I like the label that it's got on it. The bath bomb kit looks like great fun to make wish,I bought one of each for myself now. went into wilko today and they have a few Christmas pet toys on the shelf and not bad prices either. The dreamies gift tin for cats looked good might get one for my aunts cats, not bad for £4.00.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480

Hello my fellow christmas crazies,
Ok I have failed miserably in catching up as the pages are moving along soooo quickly.
Welcome to ALL newbies, if you love everything christmas you are all in the right place. We hold a monthly Christmas craft challenge as a bit of fun. I set the theme on the first of the month and we can make our own version of the theme. We then share pictures on the last day of the month. Its fun, we started last month. This months theme is snow. You are welcome to join in if you wish.
I finally have an idea for mine so just need to get it sorted out now.
GTQ- So sorry to hear you have shingles, what a shame. Please be careful and rest up.
Cherry24- Do not even get me started on solicitors! car accident 2 years ago and i am still awaiting appts to see 2 specialists!!!
Fiesty- Hope you are ok xx
Free- Hope you are ok lovelie xx
princesskitty29-its beginning to look alot like christmas isnt it?
Gwendolyn-Half way through is an achievement and you have a couple of months to go so well done to you xxx
On the job front, Im holding judgement as the info I get changes on a daily basis. Got told it was 3 days then 5 days now its 3 days again. Not sure what hours as different staff start at different hours. I will give it a fair chance until october hols and see what I think then.
Got DS birthday next month so I have been sorting that out. Ordered a double buggy for part of DDs gift. She has decided she does not want her ikea kitchen that she has had 18 months and has hardly used. It has got loads of kitchen stuff included too so im going to get it on ebay and facebook. Try to raise the funds to get her a new bike xx0 -
Ooh another four recruits, welcome BONFIREBRIDE, PATENTGIRL, GWENDOLYN and CBSEXEC. The Christmas spirit is alive and kicking all year round on here.
GTQ glad you finally know what's wrong. Hope the pain eases up very soon. I've never had shingles but have heard it's very painful so sending healing vibes your way.
TREASUREQUEEN thanks for the heads up, I love the JL Christmas section although don't usually buy much as its a bit pricey. Lovely to wander through though.
PRINCESSKITTY have you got a moving date yet?
0462 hope things settle down with the job, you do sometimes have to wonder how people can be so disorganised.
MURIE have you started your new SNOW CHALLENGE yet? I'm still waiting for DH to cut me a circle of Mdf but once he's done that I can put mine together. If he diesnt hurry up though I'll be late again!
PINKSTEPS, hoping you're ok, will FB message you later.
Well I've been up since four but I've managed to sort out a poster for the Santa Paws project, claim DH's tax rebate for last year online and just generally get some thoughts together. No doubt I'll be shattered later but feeling quite on the ball at the moment. Did some tiling for DD yesterday and had a lovely time doing 'in and out the dusty bluebells' with the DGS's. Mybath bomb and lip balm kits are on the way to the store, my Asda click and collect bedding order is ready and I've got a parcel to pick up from the sorting office - all is right with the world. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
