It's getting difficult to stay positive here atm. I now have a hacking, going nowhere, cough and a sore throat thanks to DH bringing his home a couple of weeks ago
However, even worse, is the relentless cold and wet and windy weather here for the last five days.
I braved the weather and did a small M Shop and, together with a couple of surveys, that's another £9 on the total :j
Hope you all have a super Thursday
Lx
so sorry you are ill Lynne, not what you need. Hope your other home troubles are sorted now too.
I was going to suggest fleece blankets in your windows behind the curtains, helps keep the heat in, but you have thermal curtain already. How annoying
anyone have a tosco near them? there is a nice offer that compares well to M(rr*sons and you will get money off your shop for it0 -
It's to do with the current regulations for the PO, which have been updated and the staff have to check a whole list of what is not allowed and what is.
I know this because I've done a couple of M shops checking up on this to ensure they are asking all the right questions and not accepting barred items. They also know that they are being M shopped so probably being extra careful.
I have been doing these too and guess what? my POs haven't been checking the items! luckily what I send doesn't matter if destroyed! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for all your support and suggestions about my council tax. I didn't have the strength to deal with it today and left the paperwork at home anyway so will see if there is an email address and try to sort tomorrow.
He has had a bit of help from government but didn't realise he was entitled to it for a few months and although the advisor told him they could back date it in the end they decided they couldn't.
To add to the stress I had a nasty letter from Concentrix accusing me of lying about my tax credits claim just before Christmas. This is because I claimed as a single person and my partner now lives with me.
If you are still being messed around with Council Tax, then do as I suggest, set up a standing order to make the 4 payments, tell the Council that is what you are doing. What can they do? they are receiving their money which is all they are interested in. If they take you to court, court will say but you are making payments and standing orders mean you pay a set amount monthly. Direct debit means the council can claim what they like.
I would get OH to appeal against the non backdating of his original claim. Especially if he was working with an advisor. some of them are completely useless and he should have been informed correctly.
I know, I know, I am just adding to your stress, but I am sitting here trying to summon up the strength to write more letters fighting for money and my rights. They expect us to give up as the whole process is so stressful but at the end of the day I have my rights and if they didn't mess around in the first place, I wouldn't be in this situation. So I am plodding on with it all. In six months time it should all have been dealt with and I will be in a much happier place.
About Concentrix, are you on facebook? think there is a group about tax credits, I will look for the link if you are and pM you. they can help.
and lastly big squidgy hugs to you. not how you want to start the new year I know xxx0 -

I also emailed Matalan to complain about 2 pairs of shoes I had bought recently and both broke within 6 weeks but I didn't have the receipts and I never take anything back anyway (I have another pair sat on the dining table waiting to be returned that have been there for weeks). They sent me £42 of vouchers to use in store. I don't know whether I will keep them or sell them so I won't add it yet, either way it will be going on baby clothes as my little man suddenly doesn't fit in anything.
So I am up to £183.32 so far, I have relisted the bits that didn't sell on ebay and have 15 free listings left so will try and get them done tomorrow x
brilliant! the problem with returns and stuff is the time it all takes isn;t it.0 -

that's great lex, good luck with the challenge.
I won't join as have far too much going on and head getting a bit woolly with it all.
I have challenges that I haven't kept up with this month and I do stuff on facebook too.
Black dog nipping at my heels and am trying to fight it.0 -

Yesterday I did a study on listening to sentences which I probably got just over half way through. Froze twice on me....the first time I could carry on with it but second it just went kaputt.
Thought no more of it as I have had years of experience with survey sites ..............but
I got a message from the lady who had done the study asking why I didnt complete it. I explained what had happened and she is going to pay me £2.70 for the time I DID manage!
Quite amazed and pleased.
Its only the second study I have done.......is there a best time to check the site or is it just a matter of checking often?
The studys are far more interesting than any other survey site I have done.
some of the academics are lovely. some are not :rotfl: I had one put up a survey incorrectly and declined my payment but then I couldnt access the correct one, I couldn't be bothered to complain and left it.
there was another time when I got declined and spoke to the academic, they agreed to pay me. others I know that did the same survey also got declined, pa overturned the academic's decision not to pay them and they all got paid too.
By far the best site, better than the forest people.:rotfl:
I have a notifier on my desktop, so when I am on line, it tells me if I have a new survey.
otherwise it is a case of logging in often and checking or if you have emails on your smartphone, using the survey notifier that surfchik80 set up here0 -
Yes I asked the nurse if I should fast and he said yes. Was talking to Dr friend who said fast but then things change so much!!!.
Now had to change appointment to 12pmgot British gas insurance coming soon...
Might have a biscuit lol
I had blood test, got told to book appointment for 2 weeks time, which I thought was a bit far ahead as results are usually available in a few days. Got text today, results in and I have to call surgery :rotfl:0 -
So much to read since last night but the gist seems to be that so many of you are really going through it at the moment:(. It's just not fair that companies and institutions mess us about like they do. It's so true what you said, Aesop, about having to fight for what is rightly ours. Sending as much positivity as I can find to anyone who needs it. Be strong and keep at 'em:beer:
That delivery job I'd been booked for tomorrow is OFF:j. Mixed feelings as I was looking forward to the money, albeit a smallish amount for the effort and time involved but I can't afford to turn down any opportunity:o. It's been raining non-stop all night and the lane outside here is partly flooded. All the grass verges have been churned up and look like ploughed fields as vehicles have to pull off the road if anything bigger than cars need to pass. Wasn't exactly looking forward to spending the whole of tomorrow sloshing through it.
Dug out my heaviest-duty waterproofs from the shed yesterday but have been worried about footwear as my normal boots are not very waterproof and wellies would be more appropriate but I find it impossible to drive in them:o
Long story but major moan coming up:o. The person who booked me for the job (over the phone) promised to email me a map and details of the job and let me know when the leaflets/brochures would be delivered to me or where I had to collect them from today. No phone call yesterday and no sign of anything online so I've just phoned her, mainly wanting to make sure I fetched the brochures in time if they weren't coming direct to me. She was full of apologies that she had 'forgotten' all about promising to send the map and details or let me know about brochure collection:mad:
Not only that but the company who had booked the distributors to organise deliver had decided not to go ahead after all and they didn't need anything delivering:(. Apparently she was informed yesterday lunchtime:mad:. Why can't people who get paid for doing a job do it right?????
Very mixed feelings as I really didn't want to do it in this weather but I'd have gone through with it come what may as I'd made a commitment. But I'm hopping mad that she didn't let me know it was off, I'd have been spending all day today worrying about getting the brochures and what tomorrow would bring.0 -
