Very mixed feelings as I really didn't want to do it in this weather but I'd have gone through with it come what may as I'd made a commitment. But I'm hopping mad that she didn't let me know it was off, I'd have been spending all day today worrying about getting the brochures and what tomorrow would bring.

some people really just don't care about other people's feelings
for all this woman knows you rearranged your whole life to make sure these leaflets were delivered. a courtesy call would not have taken her much time to tell you what the situation was.

hugs. silly cow is the woman!!

Also, if anyone's interested, I'm trying to set up the Great Big Budget 2016 challenge - for setting spending targets over multiple categories and trying to get outgoings under control (as many or few categories as you need/want)

Thanks for that, lexbubbles, it sounds an interesting challenge:T

Haven't had any time to read it yet but I will, promise:)

I'm a bit challenged-out at the moment though:o. I know my limitations and don't want to commit to anything that I'm unlikely to see through.

Very good luck with it though:beer:

they xray them and will destroy them. I know someone who sent over £100 worth of nail varnishes abroad as a gift for someone. The PO didn't check what he was sending and when the items went through royal mail they xrayed and destroyed the parcel.

The poor sender was only notified they had been destroyed :(

guttted is not the word. This is why I stick with couriers for most items as can see what they will and will not accept.

I know myhermes just weigh parcels, they don't xray.

But my local PO are horrific! they never check what is in your parcel! I always have to say it is a single nail varnish please put on the special sticker! say with mobile phones that are being sent for repair. Have to make sure I tell them. otherwise it will get destroyed.

I maligned the poor Postmistress who dealt with me then :o. Not a jobsworth after all, just obeying Royal Mail instructions;)

I never knew any of this about x-raying and destroying:eek:

There's something valuable and useful to be learned every single day on this wonderful thread:A

£40 onto my signature after someone paid me back something that was owed.
Chugging away with surveys and the like too. I'm doing sealed pot this year and forging ahead with that but I'm not counting change from the food budget and what not that gets dropped in there UNLESS I've specifically earned the money i.e. a survey etc and then choose to pot it.
