I also emailed Matalan to complain about 2 pairs of shoes I had bought recently and both broke within 6 weeks but I didn't have the receipts and I never take anything back anyway (I have another pair sat on the dining table waiting to be returned that have been there for weeks). They sent me £42 of vouchers to use in store. I don't know whether I will keep them or sell them so I won't add it yet, either way it will be going on baby clothes as my little man suddenly doesn't fit in anything.
So I am up to £183.32 so far, I have relisted the bits that didn't sell on ebay and have 15 free listings left so will try and get them done tomorrow x

Evening guys
Thanks for all your support and suggestions about my council tax.
My goodness, I can't half ramble on!

Lots of big squishy hugs and some calming vibes.
You must have needed the sleep and things will sort out in the wash if you stay calm and in control and sort and send the paperwork. Things are sometimes sent to try us I think

Thanks Lynne
It all feels a bit much just now but OH has just been offered some regular work. It's only 3 shifts a fortnight but at least it's regular money coming in - instead of going out for a change!
Hope you are ok - sending big squishy hugs back at you

Evening folks
Moan alert !!
It's getting difficult to stay positive here atm. I now have a hacking, going nowhere, cough and a sore throat thanks to DH bringing his home a couple of weeks ago
However, even worse, is the relentless cold and wet and windy weather here for the last five days. Trouble is the wind is straight across the Firth onto the front and the wind is getting through every tiny crack in the old, decrepit double-glazing. Even the blinds and thermal curtains aren't keeping it all out and I've had to have all the heating on all day to try to stay warm. I am already wearing thermals, a jumper and a fleece - if only the wind would turn. It's also so dark that I've had the lights on all day as well so hate to think what my bill's going to be
Now my boiler is playing up. It's not heating on normal timed white meter and I'm having to keep putting the boost on to get any hot water - or boil the kettle !
Sorry - just needed to get it all out !
Anyways - it's cheering to see how well you're all doing already this month :T
I braved the weather and did a small M Shop and, together with a couple of surveys, that's another £9 on the total :j
Hope you all have a super Thursday

Received my New Look card from topcashback today (only requested on Monday) so once activated that will be another £40.21 to add.
Haven't managed to get on to do any surveys today but hopefully will be back in the zone shortly.
Good luck with the challenge for the rest of the month

First post in this challenge is just to say that I've received 30p interest and 11p from Qmee. It's not much but it's a start! My target will mostly be made up of the income from my second job which I don't get paid from until the end of the month.0

Hope you feel better soon Lynne. You need a good nights sleep but if you are any thing like me.....the minute you lay down you start coughing and it keeps you awake all night.
I had pharyngitis just before Christmas and didnt sleep for a couple of nights with the tickly cough.
I read somewhere on the net.(in desperation) that if you lather your chest , back and feet....yes feet! in vicks you will sleep.
Amazingly it worked for me and sleep was resumed.
Not sure how or why it works but who cares.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
shellyosborne wrote: »Uh how annoying, when I had my ebay shop the post office guy where I lived in Swansea used to just take the bag off me and I would go back in the evening and pay. I used to go there everyday so he was happy to do it, it was even his idea. Next time write what's in each one on the back and then she won't have an excuse lol x
I'll certainly do that next time, although I doubt there'll ever be anything like that amount of stuff to post all at once again:eek:.
I could have just made something up I suppose, like telling her that they were all the same thing but they were such a mix of shapes and sizes I'd have been rumbled:rotfl:
I've only ever been there with 3 books to post at most at any one time. It's a tiny village store type PO and it's recently changed hands. I don't think the staff are fully au fait with the workings of it yet;). The alternative PO I use sometimes seems to take bags of parcels from people just as yours did. Will try there if there's a next time;)0 -
Big hugs from me too, for shariann and Lynne and anyone else who's feeling blue or ill at the moment:kisses3::grouphug:
The only thing I've got to moan about is that when I went online to try to buy a Lottery ticket for the rollover tonight the website had crashed:(. Seems like everyone and his dog was trying to buy tickets. Never got one in time but I'm glad really as not a single one of my numbers came up so I'm pleased that my £2 lives to be spent another day;)
Just seen the TV weather forecast and it looks as if next week is going to be a lot colder with slight snowfalls in places, mainly Scotland. Thinking of you and your cold house, Lynne. It's just the same here:eek:. I wish I hadn't taken the refund from Scottish Power now, it might have gone some way to cover the big bills that will surely come:mad:0
