For those who have used Uber and Lyft.

Can they accommodate 3 people with holiday luggage ?

This trip there will be 3 of us,so 3 large cases, and 2 cabin size cases.

Taxis manage ok...but would uber or Lyft have the room for 5 cases ?

With Uber there is an option to choose a larger car.

All the cars we had were nice clean larger cars from both services. There was only two of us but we had 5 cases including the trolley bags plus a couple of rucksacks.
I think you would be fine.

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has been to the top of the Stratosphere at night to view the strip etc and is it worth it?

Does anyone know if there are any deals if you book early?

    Thanks

You can go to the Level 107 SkyLounge for happy hour and get up there for free. I think the HH times are 4 to 7 pm and 11 pm to 4 am.

Back from our 4 night Vegas trip;it was not without its dramas. Booked with Virgin holidays.

We went for four days due to my friends wedding and the return of my daughter from her holiday with her Father. This was all the time we had.

We left my friends wedding at 11pm in Solihull and drove to the Hilton at the airport. Booked a prepaid upgraded room. They had given it away. They only had a basic smoking room. Offered us breakfast and a drink to compensate. Did not want breakfast but was tired after wedding. So we accepted the room. Complained to Hilton ( since offered a comp stay ).

We took a Virgin premium economy flight from Manchester to Atlanta. Lovely flight. Three hour layover in Atlanta. This is where it all went a bit wrong.

The next flight was with Delta. It was delayed an hour due to a problem with the cabin pressure. They " fixed" this and were on our way-an hour later. Well half way through the flight the plane feels like its plummeting down. It went from 34 k feet to 10k in approx 4 minutes. The captain says the cabin pressure has failed. So have to use the auxiliary back up so hence lowering to 10k feet. Then he announced we were making an emergency divert to Dallas Fort Worth. :-0

Anyway false promises from Delta , a night on the floor at the airport. I did not sleep. Phones ran out. Overworked unhelpful staff ( not really their fault) 12 hours later we were on our way to vegas. Not impressed by this point.

We got a presedential limo to the MGM. They were great with the flight delay etc. We had champagne but had been awake 36 hours and felt dirty.

Joined queue to check in at the MGM. It was long due to a sisco conference. We had booked a Tower Spa Suite. Nope! They had given it away due to us missing the night before. They said they can give us a west wing room but it was our fault for not telling them. I started to cry ( been awake 36 hours) I said we paid in good faith. Not our fault stuck at a gate. They say they will sort it tomorrow but will have to take the west wing room.

In the room which is small but ok certainly not the spa suite. The virgin reps call. I explain the issue. She says she will speak to the broker and try and sort it. An hour later the reservations team call. They have a room and tell us to pack and wait for a call. They call back and apologise again. They do not have a room. But she can give me two comped dinner buffets for her mistake.

Annoyed but in Vegas. So we forget and have the dinner buffet. I am a veggie and fussy. I was impressed with the buffet it was really nice. We then go to Penn and Teller. Decent seats and I had already my money back from ticketmaster for the cancelled night. Really enjoyed it. I wanted to stay to meet them but we were totally exhausted by this point.

Next day we phone reception. They say they can swop the room at 4pm. Grrr. So we head out for the day. Join Mlife -easy. Look through MGM. Go to NYNY and redeem our rewards. We did not have loads but still quite impressed :-two free coaster rides. 50 dollars at Times square, bogof at Toms urban and a jello shot.
After all that went back to MGM changed rooms and headed to Fremont. Insane place. Loved it. It started to rain and people danced in the streets.

Next day we did Excalibur, Tropicana M and M world and I then said to OH shall we try Hooters? I think I was tipsy by this point. I actually liked it. Don't know what I was expecting but it was similar to elsewhere with cheaper beer. Not seedy at all.

Then we went to the Bellagio and got a comped mlife buffet. It was ok. I thought MGM was better too much seafood at the Bellagio. We watched the water show and walked back via Paris and the street entertainment. Lovely night.

Left the next day on Delta. No divert and extra flight this time. Uneventful. We flew back Virgin economy which was a lot more cramped and you can't move the arm wrests.

We only had two days as we essentially lost a day but after the awful start we enjoyed it. Impressed with mlife and how easy it was. So thanks everyone for information about that.

    hi

We did this 2 years ago and loved it, My brother loves to takes pics and we both loved the sights from the top.
Im not 100% sure but prehaps the tix4tonight booths may have some *discounted tickets*

As pebblesmax has said also is a good idea, i wish we had known that before we went !:D

Rebecca01- thanks alot for the trip report, i am a nosey so and so !:p

It was a shame about your flights , which sounds scary by the way and then the whole mgm room mixup, what did you think of the Tower Spa Suite?

Unsure if you know or would be intrested but you can go to Mlife.com and put your account number( on your card) in as well as your info( i think name, date of birth and email) and depending on how much you gambled, you may get offers, though even if you did not gamble too much there would be still a chance of some offers prehaps?

Surely smoking rooms dont exist any more in the UK??? It's illegal to do so.

Also, sounds like you've got a £500 a head compo claim against Virgin, assuming your whole flight was on the one ticket.

Rebecca01 - I hope u pursue a claim against any firm that messed you around... I really do!
As for the plane drama, wow!!! if that happened to me, I think it would be beyond a brown trouser moment!!!! :D

    Kit1 -
Have jumped off the Strat late at night. It was perfect, as there was no queue of jumpers, so I was able to stand on the ledge for about 2 minutes looking at the lights everywhere!
Have also been at the 107 lounge late at night, again, great views by night.....

3 years ago, we did the bar near the top of the building in Mandalay Bay, think it was called Mix, unsure if its still there ?
Good views, big pane of glass stops u thinking your Superman mind! :D

Another good view is from VooDoo Lounge at the top of Rio. I think it's free before 8 or 10pm, not sure which. The entrance is on the second level of the Masquerade tower near where the Show In The Sky used to be.
