Evening peeps.
Just wanted an opinion from you veteran Vegas vistiors as to which hotel you'd recommend out of these 4.
Mirage, Venetian, Palazzo & Cosmopolitan.
Myself and DH haven't been to LV for 5 years and we are in the early stages of planning, but things looked to have changed quite a bit so we just wanted a bit of advice. They are all the same price roughly on Expedia, but we've never stayed in any of them and wanted somewhere different this time. Also, I've seen a few things mentioned and can't remember what they were called (excuse my numptyness) The best place for car hire please?
And, there was an online game that I'm sure was mentioned on here where you could build up points for freebies, is that still going?
Apologies for the questions, it's been a while - still getting over the stupid resort fees, and the car parking news.
Thanks in advance for any adviceBEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Ive stayed in both mirage and cosmo, cosmo has the young, boutique hotel vibe in a great location and fountain view rooms. Mirage has a big pool!
Myvegas is the game but rewards take longer to get now and a lot of good ones gone.0 -

If all hotels are the same price (assuming a standard room) then the Venetian/Palazzo for me
Cosmo if you can get a terrace room
There are a few carhire links on the first page
The last few times I have been I have found Alamobrits the best price coupled with the fact if you "join"alamo you can check in online and walk straight to your car with no lines whatsover

@dontone...
Its a self made deal, couple of hoops to jump through but worth it:
£45 Ryanair - LGW to DUB (inc bags) - 1 way
£10 each towards hirecar in Dublin for 1 day
£30 each for San Juan B&B in Dublin
£364 DUB-LAS (Dub to LGW, then Virgin from LGW to LAS, and rtn part we miss the last leg back to Dublin)
12 of the 14 nights have been comp'd through Mlife & my Host
£15 each towards 2 nights in Luxor hotel
Total - £475 each !
I don't include R Fee's in my costs, hopefully i'll get most of them waived, but will use winnings and some of my express comps to cover that.... Still got the carpark charging to figure out yet !
@photome
When looking at AlamoBrits, compare using Netflights too....
Last year, I booked my 1 way, 1 day SUV hire with Alamo via Netflights, and it cost £35, and then I chose the full fuel option for an extra £70 -
Booked for Halloween again this year.Staying at the Wynn this time(TI was booked up!!) OH gave me the choice between Wynn and Bellagio but since we have stayed at Bellagio 3 times already decided to try the Wynn.Going direct with Thomas Cook so will book extra legroom and extra luggage (that is if the dollar improves!!).Read up on the resort fee there and it's says something to the effect of it depends on the length of your stay....well if they only charge us for 3 days it's better than a week coz their resorts fees are bigger than some of the others $37 I think .0

Venetian/Palazzo definately a rung higher than Mirage. Would stay there 10/10. Not stayed at Cosmo.illegitimi non carborundum0

We've stayed at the Wynn. It's very nice, but the only grumble was at the weekends. We were on the 34th floor, and on Friday & Saturday night, we could hear the music from their nightclub. So, try and get a high a floor as you possibly can. Other than that, the rooms are lovely.
Thanks for the advice regarding where to stay next, everybody. It's looking like it's going to be the Venetian. Just need to do the pricing and what have youBEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

so we have jumped in and booked another jolly in may ( went in September and loved it) as mrs flybynight thought it was a tad hot last time. have booked the second part of the hols ( weekish in harrahs) and hotels in san fran and Yosemite and death valley as we are driving to vegas.
the bit we are struggling with is the first part. we are flying into vegas on the sat morning and then flying to san fran on tues luchtime. plan is to spend 3 nights in vegas somewhere different and then go on. we have booked the golden nugget as we wanted to try downtown for a few nights, but have since seen loads of iffy reviews, its a cancellable room, so we are now looking for a similar sort of priced hotel ideally near Fremont street and wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations.saving for more holidays0
