    fellow passengers might... :D

    Nah MaccyD's don't do beans.

Whenever I've flown Virgin from Gatwick they always seem to go from the most remote gate possible and feel like I've walked half the journey before I even board the ruddy plane.

After reading about this $10 per day parking charge (so that's $140 for us), + bad currency conversion, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Might be our last trip to Vegas!
I remember when peeps would say to me, Vegas is really to stay in a hotel! haha!
So like, say u stay mid-week, in Monte C, and it Costs $60 for room + $33 resort fee + $10 parking + bad currency conver = not so cheap at all !!!!
oh well, best I win loads! :D

well i know the feeling about bad currency convertion, and how mad it seems with new charges with parking(doesn't effect me luckily enough).
Im telling my brother if he could help us out and win a big amount on the machines, last year i took him down to the casino and gave him a £10 for his birthday and he stuck it in the machine ,i went to get drinks and my mum was with us she came upto me, and was like " your brothers just won £800".
The next day(honestly) i was putting a bet on and he put some money in a machine and won £400.
so fingers crossed he can win a few $1000 to help us out!

Don't mean for this to sound rude.
But some of you who go to Vegas say you take many thousands of pounds.
I assume most of it for gambling.
Surely putting a few dollars each year on resort fees,or a little parking charge....however irritating it may be....shouldnt influence whether or not Vegas is taken off the holiday list.
I,like everyone else, get annoyed by the constant increase in resort fees.
But they wouldn't stop me from going to Vegas.
I don't take many thousands of pounds to gamble with on holiday.I take enough to eat, shop and have a little play when I feel like it.
I have NEVER had so much as 1 night comped by any resort hotel, which goes to show our gambling spends are minimal. So we always,as we already have this twice this year, pay for each, and every nights stay.
In fact,if we took a lot to gamble with,we could never manage to go twice in a year sometimes.
As I say,I hope this post doesn't offend anyone,it's just meant to put things into context...a few dollars less in the machines because of other charges wouldn't stop me returning each year.

I guess that will happen when either I cannot afford it for some reason,or I no longer get the thrill out of the place....I hope neither happens for a long time.
  • There is a link on the Vitalvegas.com site suggesting hotels will shortly do away with resort fees as it seems in surveys it does put a lot of people off.
It will mean higher room rates though.

MGM resorts going to start charging for parking sometime between April and June this year, up to $10 a night for guests self parking and a higher charge for valet.

    excuse my language, but !!!!!!?
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I think part of the reason I would be angry about paying for parking (assuming the resort fee was not reduced in line) is because we gamble a fair amount. Now we have to pay for the honour of parking, too? This is about 14 steps too far, IMHO...and I'm one that (begrudgingly) accepts the resort fee as we would buy internet access at least every few days.

Sometimes our hire car sits in the garage for 2 days at a stretch, unused...but we prefer to have access to it when we want it. Paying even more for it to sit there would be aggravating.

I cannot in a million years believe that this will fly. March is our first proper stay at an MGM property in years and we were considering focusing on the group over CET going forward. It would be incredibly irksome if they did this. Though I agree that, like resort fees, if one does it and gets away with it, everyone will.

All that said, it wouldn't stop us going...

For us Vegas is/was a cheap holiday (gambling apart) we do gamble more now than we used to but you dont have to gamble thousands to get comped rooms. If you gamble a minimal amount at Orleans you are almost gteed a free 2 night offer.

we always used to eat buffets and almost all of them free/subsidised with coupons

We dont eat so many buffets now so the costs of eating have gone up, coupled with resort fees and parking charges, it seems to us that Vegas isnt the bargain it used to be

we are going in May/June, will it be our last time? maybe

You post did not offend me!
I think alot of people maybe take a set amount(like my brother and I) and like you have said i think people just get annoyed by the constant increase in fees.So for example if people took x amount part of that set amount is lost due to stupid fees ,what next, fees for the sunlight? fees for playing machines?
As a poster above has said things seem to be going up and up , so instead of getting enjoyment from say $3000 you may, because of fees and stuff(and the weird exchange rate, which doesn't help) may now have that $3000 turning into $2500 which is a fair big wack.
