Am looking at a trip for next March, hotel prices are coming our really expensive over the weekend of 10-12 March 2017, anyone know why? I think March Madness isn't until the weekend after.

March madness affects all the weekends in March, I think. It's a huge thing for them.

As far as I can see there isn't anything major on that weekend, not even any conventions. But the fact that it is a Friday and Saturday will make it appear expensive straight away, just the way Vegas Hotel prices work.

It is probably also considered an early start of March Madness weekend, which also collides with St. Patrick's Day the next weekend. Add to that Spring Break influx, even if LV is not a major Spring break destination, and it adds up to an expensive weekend.

Just checked CET, and that weekend is actually considerably more expensive at all their Hotels, compared to the March Madness weekend a week later.

most of our trips have been in March/April as both of our birthdays are in March.

I wouldn't worry too much about the prices at this stage.

Usual advice applies - book something not you'd be comfortable with direct with the hotel on a cancellable rate and keep an eye out. As others have said weekend nights will be more expensive than weekdays but you'll start to see offers extending into your travel period the closer you get to it. Keep an eye on the links from he 1st page.

Thanks for the info guys. Just got flights booked:

Thurs 9 March: Gatwick - Vegas direct
Tues 14 March: LAX - Gatwick direct

£350 return which seems incredible for direct return flights. Only 5 nights but it's for a mate's stag do so I don't think we could handle much more than that :D

Just read up on this. No longer giving the valet a $5 tip now, minimum is $15.

I can't see Caesars not doing this as well.

It's gonna be cheaper for us to get Uber cabs everywhere, or not visit MGM properties (It's going to be the latter)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I must admit, we don't very often park on the strip, but it's nice to be able to!! We tend to stay off strip, and only park when we go out in the car, which tends not to be to the strip.

It did start but not at all properties until next week.

I dont park at MGM properties as a rule but had to a couple of days ago for the my vegas free buffet at MB, They start charging on the 13th.

( the MB buffet is 100 times better than the MC)

I wont park at any MGM properties in the future, of course if Caesers also start charging,it may mean i wont have a car

We only have a car for part of our trip. It's rare we ever park at an MGM property and even rarer we ever gamble there anymore. Our expriences have not been good when we have stayed there in recent years. I'll still do a free night or two courtesy of MyVegas, but we won't be bothering apart from that. Too much hassle these days.
