Social Services say i need to quit job

I'm not sure I'd feel so positive, are they offering support or setting them up? I don't know, but it would be naive to assume SS motivations are all good.
I actually think it's pretty irresponsible to try and scare the OP with this sort of rubbish.
Social workers don't always get it perfectly right, as they are human, but it's completely paranoid to think there's some sort of grand conspiracy to invest months of time and loads of resources into snatching one baby. It sounds like they are offering lots of support to try and keep the family together while ensuring that the baby is safe and the parents can learn to cope.
I'm sure people like yourself are the first to be up in arms when it hits the news that a child has suffered, blaming the evil social workers for not stepping in sooner!0 -

The parents I know who had one of these spent 4 months living in another town 250 miles away from home. , a lift to meetings, help with childcare, help with benefits, a letter to my employer to explain situation & a letter to a solicitor for legal advice, so they do OFFER things .. all of those are standard services not necessarily funded by themselves and accessible by most people who know where to look.. they haven't offered anything there.
We asked for help with money until benefits come through, which they have agreed to & help with diagnosis, but they are not sure if they can help with that
That's the kind of thing I meant.. Make sure your landlord is aware of any issues while you get housing benefit sorted too, some are not sympathetic.. SS can chivvy the councils along with those if you ask too.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

The rules changed in April this year, and fathers are now entitled to shared parental leave. My understanding is that you should be entitled to 50 weeks in the first year of your child's life. Go onto the Benefits Forum - there will be people there who can verify this - or confirm that you are correct. It is worth exploring - not all employers seem to understand that it is not just 2 weeks parental leave any more.0

Good luck OP and your partner. I can't add anything, but wanted to wish you the best so you can keep your baby.0

OK had a Case conference today & our daughter had been placed on a child protection plan (to be reviewed in 6 months), the issues surrounding work are still not clear, gonna have a chat with SW tomorrow, but my employer is saying I have to work at least 4 hours a week as my contract states that I must or be in breach of my contract, SW seems to be trying to push for me to stay in work at least part-time, but will have a new SW in January 2016, as current one is only duty SW (although she wanted to take the case on, but was not allowed to as she is duty SW only)
All professionals have spoke of us in a good light, but historic events & my partners Learning difficulties have dictated that we need a CPP0 -
Bad times.
I followed you other thread with interest while you tried to find work and it seems you are doing very well at your job. It would be a shame to give that up.0 -
