  • Coping vibes to Dizzy. We have never been flooded, but living in York we are familiar with the misery it brings.

Tomorrow morning I meet our new dentist. He is going to love me! The advice going into treatment was no dental treatment, and then my bridge fell out just before I started treatment... The bridge had been on borrowed time for 4 years and I fully expect whatever we do to be .. Expensive.

However dentist is the other side of York, so I may go and visit DD1 at the warehouse..

Dizzy chin up chick, sounds like you are being very stoical. I hope all drying/fixing goes to plan, I cannot imagine what a nightmare it is. I hope you live somewhere so lovely it is worth this hassle.

Spent a lot of time sorting papers but still oodles to do but tomorrow now.

Going to tidy kitchen, set DW and probably have an early night.

Back home after a busy day; most of this evening seems to have been spent ferrying Z around! Just had to give in to my stomach cramps and have a paracetamol; J is home now so he's made me a lovely hot cup of tea and is going to fetch Z from Scouts. Agility didn't go well - poor Whiz has managed to pull off part of his dew claw so we had blood everywhere and he's pretty sore. This was all after just 5 minutes. Hoping we won't have to go to the vets; will see how he is tomorrow but I've cleaned him up and he's seeming OK for now.

Did most of my cleaning but didn't wipe the windows. House does look better for sure.

    See you tomorrow x

    Evening all,

So I have just decluttered my necker and woggle. I've "resigned" from beavers - although I've said I'll "work" two weeks notice ;) so we have up until Christmas. Aww. Everyone was so nice about it, when I explained about all the other changes going on in our lives. I have told DS if beavers didn't make him happy then we should free up the space for another boy, and free up the time for something he really wants to do. I've taken that advice for myself too.
If I am made redundant, we won't be using school club any more either so I can "resign" from the committee there too. I've volunteered there for 2 years, the are lots of other parents using the club who can contribute their share.

So we are in reasonable shape here. Tomorrow I need to get a few foodie bits in for the weekend, so will plan a couple of meals. I might wrap a few gifts, and I have DS assembly to go to in the afternoon.

We also have the show tomorrow night :D DD is really looking forward to that! (Me too!)

Hope everythings ok at home mumof2 xx

  • I feel a bit brain dead so sorry all, its been one of those days.

Dizzy you poor thing. We live close to an area that floods so I have seen the devastation that can be caused. As Bossy says is there anything we can do? Is there anything you need that can be posted?

I am off to bed soon I think. Flying has been minimal this week. Doesnt help that I now have half a bathroom suite in my living room and various other bits of tools, equipment and bathroom stuff in my bedroom.

    Night all x

Honeybear- glad to see your post. I was thinking the other day that you have been 'missing'. Hope everything is ok for you.

Well kiddies got a thumbs up at the dentist! Why do I always get so nervous taking them?? I feel like they are judging me so relieved that it was all good although the 15 minute journey back took over an hour as there had been an accident on the parkway.

Spent a couple of hours ironing so almost up to date now!

Tonight the elf has been back to the north pole and will be caught coming through the letter box with a bell from santa's sleigh. It's beautiful. In a lovely lined box with a poem about 'believing' the elves have brought reindeer socks too!

The kiddies are at nanny's tomorrow so will have to think of a straight forward one!

Finished my secret Santa pressie today so need to pop that in the post at some point. Better find where I stashed the wrapping paper!

    Evening all.

Dizzy - Glad you're safe. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

This afternoon/evening has been all about running errands. :D All Christmas pressies are now well on their way to being finished. However the dog is less than impressed at being left home for about 7 hours on his own. I did pop back regularly and gave him treats for being good while I was out, and that bit he enjoyed :rotfl:

Tomorrow I need to run to Mr A for more milk, bread for next weeks lunches, and top a few perishable things up. Then clean the house top to bottom. We don't have odour-de-pooch, we have stinky-dog smell which is not helped by him passing wind :rotfl::rotfl: Plan is to deodorise as much as possible, then get my new Christmas oil diffusers going and maybe burn a candle or two which is in the same scent for a little while. Since DD is going away I'll be changing the beds tomorrow as I can easily jump in the bath once she's gone or even before if I really move myself ;)

So my list for Friday goes something like this (if its gone it's done or doesn't apply!):

    - Slice black pudding and freeze three-quarters done!
    - Read instructions for new boiler
    - Read instructions for CM alarm and put it up in right place
    - Buy curtain pole for kitchen & put up Its bought, I'll either put it up over the weekend or next weekend.
    - Paint window (only during daylight hours so plenty of time to fly while its dark ;)) Pictures printed and cut ready to go.
    - Keep on top of fly lists, minus extras unless required.
    - Laundry (sofa cover spot clean, dark, lights, towels)
    - Deo the sofas
    - Check over DD's bag she's packed to make sure she has everything, add mobile charger, toothbrush

Make those beds - do any need clean linen? - Clean bedding going on Friday with DD going away and me going out.
    Level 3
Wipe a window or two - let that sun shine through! Yeah, right :p

    Friday: A bit of Everything!
    Level 1

    Clear a hot spot
Get your dusting stick and go round hall, stairs, landing
Wipe any grotty marks in this area

    Catch up with laundry
    Level 3
Back to kitchen - needs S&S again?
Replace any bath, hand or tea towels that need washing

Right, I'm off to bed. I have a very busy day ahead of me and I need it all done by 3.30 ideally  . See you tomorrow

Evening ladies - hope everyone is doing OK. Hugs to Mumof2 - hope life at home gets better for you xxx To all in need of hugs, I am sending out a clutch of them xxx

DH's star of a mate Chris has just left, and thanks to him being a top-class electrician, we have power to all hip-height and above sockets, lights and heating. He is just the most wonderful man.

Insurance company have asked what accommodation we would like as our budget immediately allows £120K (!!!) So have plumped for a static caravan on our land so we can be close to school and on hand for renovations. Never lived in a caravan before, so it will be novel. Been told to leave all packing to the storage company and not to bother cleaning at all, so no flying at all to report. Actually, I did clean the main bathroom, which is upstairs as it was a little mud-splattered from Hettie the hen, who seems to have recovered from her earlier mauling band even laid an egg in the towel while I had her wrapped up all snug. Bless her x

Sleep now - see you all tomorrow x
