Hi, can I join in please. I have been saving and have £6,200. I am hoping to save £800+ per month. I fell from grace last year, as my circumstances drastically changed. Hope to make it this time. My lucky number is 3 - I think I was that last year - or 33, can't remember which one, if any of them are available it would be lovely. Thanks.0

Hello all. Everyone is making great progress, we just need to keep it up until the end of the year.
I saved £1350 in March, which is reasonable. It's payday today and the new job has finally got me on the right tax code and refunded all that emergency tax. So I'm expecting April to be a bumper month..Mortgage overpayments 2018: £4602, 2019: £7870
Mortgage overpayments 2020: £4620
Mortgage 2017 £145K, June 2020 £112.6k0 -
I have managed (with a surprise gift from family) to save £1,175 this month.
This brings me up to £2,853 so far which is close to half my target. :j
I have always been a saver but this challenge is definitely helping me to try to save as much as possible, I'm loving it.
So glad I saw this thread and decided to join the challenge.Save £8,000 in 2023 #10: £49,148/ £8,000 :j0 -
1663.44 for jan, feb and march. (i had to average it out as it was difficult to determine the exact amount per month)0

Just blew £50 on the dental hygienist. Apparently my Corsodyl mouthwash causes staining. It's a crazy £9 per 600ml bottle. And considering I go though around 8-10 bottles a year, I'm quite pleased to know that I don't need to use mouthwash!
It's the little things...Plan to save £100k:
July 2018 53k
Jan 2019: 65k
July 2019: 77k
Jan 2020: 89k
July 2020: 101k0 -
Quick success story: I bought 6 bottles of wine at Tesco yesterday for their 25% off 6+ bottles promotion. My favourite wine was on offer from £6 down to £5. Unfortunately, this didn't register at the till and I didn't realise until later when I was YNAB-ing that I effectively overspent by £4.50. I filled out the Tesco feedback thing as usual (for the clubcard points) and noted this. Within a day, over a bank holiday weekend, they'd got in touch and were sending me a giftcard for £4.50 to my house. Pretty good customer service I think
So that's £4.50 towards April's totals already!
You were overcharged and they sent tesco cash, make a complaint asking for your cash ontop or card reversal payment with the bank and use the giftcard as evidence to the bank
Giftcard as a overcharge refund!

Hello,
Just reported my March number, £0, which takes my total savings for the year to £0!
Yes, still haven't been able to get started
After paying off credit cards in full in Jan and Feb I decided to move flat earlier than planned this year and just did so two weeks ago. Between the duplicate rent for half the month, the new higher rent, the higher deposit, and the stuff (flat largely unfurnished), this move has cost me about £2500 this month! So now I'm overdrawn big time and will have to pay that off in April/May before I can potentially start to save in June.
At least I'm trying to be good and decided not to go on holidays this year so I can get as close as possible to my £10000 target. There will be better days and I will make it happen, just gotta stay positive!0 -
