Got my Natwide card through today so I've initiated the switch to TSB. I've moved £1,902 from my FD eSaver to my Natwide donor account, so that should move over to TSB in the next seven days, to be augmented by the £100 switcher bonus. Internet banking and paperless activated. I'm going to wait till the switch goes through to set up the TSB regular saver. All going in the right direction now.

I know, right?!?! I think my sigh of relief yesterday was the biggest I've ever had - my current account balance was down to 60p! All planned n all but still, that's not a nice thing to look at when you log in to your bank...

I can FINALLY declare now yay! A grand total of £926.73. Gosh, I didn't realise it was so high!! That's really spurred me on. That's more than 1/12 of my target :)

This month was a bit special because I had some rollover from December, having had a successful flight delay payout meaning I could top my First Direct regular saver up to £3,600 (meant a monthly pay-in of £575). And I opened the TSB monthly saver yesterday, desposited in today. The rest is VSP, Christmas cheque from my grandmother, delay repay cheques I've claimed, money from selling my bike (a whole £20) etc. Really shows that every little helps!

Onwards and upwards now. I already have £300 from my pay yesterday earmarked for my brand new FD regular saver in the middle of Feb...
  • hi everyone

helped by the fact there was 5 Fridays this month

  • Well that's me for Jan £770.50, fairly please about that, a few things coming to fruition in the next couple of months so should get back on track for £1000 a month.
My laptop has been poorly so I've not been able to update my finance spreadsheets, this has upset me more than it should!! :rotfl:

Ha definitely!! It was really hard because this is the first time in my life I've been on monthly pay in 12 years of working (started last April) It's usually hard enough waiting 4-5 weeks but we got paid a week early in December and 6 weeks was a crazy long time! :p
I didn't really need money, I just wanted to update my spreadsheet! :rotfl:

Congrats on smashing your monthly target!!! :T

  • Only able to put away £500 for January unfortunately, not very impressed with the start, but hopefully things will pick up. Well done to the rest of you this month, some really good numbers!
