  • Not at all - the more the merrier :) £1000 is fine for a target! :D

    Thanks. :)

Think I will continue with the challenge next year - every little helps as the saying goes and it all adds up :)

    Declaring for October.

Total balance across all accounts: £17,190.40

    Starting balance: £5,027.78

    Saved year to date: £12,062.62

    CHALLENGE MET.

Now to watch it slide away from me on a new kitchen. That has to be it now, I am out for the year. All my new appliances are already on my credit card and the workmen start tomorrow. This time next week, I'll be skint!

However - I will be back in January, and would like to thank each and every one of you for your help and encouragement along the way. I would never have made it without you.

    12 grand. Who'd a thunk it?

    Thank you!

    Hi everyone

Hard to believe we're only 2 months away from the end of this year's challenge isn't it? But really brilliant to see a few people already hitting their target for 2016 - a massive well done to you.

October has seen a few unexpected costs - expensive dog treatment on teeth for example! But overall can report £1917.35 going into savings this month.

    And 35 months to FIRE.

    Happy saving everyone.

I've just been doing my monthly portfolio 'snapshot' and noticed I could stick some money into the RS, so an additional £142.58 saved this month!

Which takes my September total to: £565.58

    Every little helps. ;)

    £923 saved for October.

    HTB ISA - £200
    Sharesave - £223
    Saving Stream P2P - £500

Nationwide flex-account has just finished its 12month and the RS 12 month finishes soon. So need to move them both away, looking at BoS and Tesco accounts both @ 3% or a fixed income fund or more into P2P...

    Decisions, decisions!

:T:T Well done RichyRich! That is another brilliant achievement for one of our thread members. I echo your comments about the help and encouragement provided on this thread, and an especial thanks to Slowlyfading for keeping it all tracked and up to date.

I am actively Tilly-Tidying every day at the moment, to squirrel away the maximum number of small-scale top-ups between now and the end of the year - just to try and push through my new challenge target. We have just had new windows and have two-thirds of the bill on 0% over two years to pick up starting the beginning of December, so now savings are all the more important.
