Sorry for the late update. New total £7,560, #176 - I believe that is £860 for the month - very pleased with that, as the past few months have been a minus. I'm definately not going to make £12,000, but I will be very happy with whatever I make from hereon.
I had to read that twice, thought you said you'd be very happy with whatever you make from heroin...
Well done on the new plan sf! Hope it goes well for you12K in 2017 No.029: £7154.37/ 18,000 (40%)

Hi all,
I've been awol for a few weeks as I'm ashamed of my savings (or lack of)
DS has started driving lessons & we stupidly lent him some money to buy a car that he can't afford. Not a penny has been paid back & he can't afford to tax or insure it either So much for promising to get a job.I am mad at myself.
We've also been on a big holiday & due to the drop in sterlings value, we've spent more than expected. we did have a lovely time though.
On a positive note, pension contributions and regular savings have continued as usual so hopefully the numbers won't be negative in every month - just some.
I'm off to add everything up now...10lb to lose & keep off in 20204.5lb/10lb:rotfl:0 -
Ok sorry been away from forum but had problems with pc, spent most of October in repair shop and then real live took over - many doctors/hospital appointments for my parents and myself, someone smashing our car window - police not really interested (a story for another time), getting a parking fine for taking my disabled brother to a&e and I will never be buying anything from currys again - took 4 deliveries to get a working dishwasher.
So even though I've met my target in Nov £6100 tomorrow I will spend some of it to payoff my credit card of £1400. So if I still save in Dec my £600 I will have only saved £5300 for the entire year which is still good considering the very stressful year I've had.0 -
Quick late to update my October total, but after a little more focus I am back on track. I may struggle to make my year-end target of £4k but it does look like a possibility at least! Fingers crossed I manage to resist too many Christmas splurges...
Thanks all for the updates and to SF for running the thread. The element of "accountability" really helps me to focus. Good luck all.0 -
Last standing order has just gone out so i'm declaring£1650
I dont think Ill be saving as much next month, as one of the regular savers is maturing, so I will reduce my total accordingly, although Im sure Ill have some christmas and birthday money to bridge the gap in my regular savers, so may increase some of them, as current account rates/rewards are dropping.
Hope all is okay, and those that live in the south coast have survived storm Angus.
