Have given up on this as no-one really cares how much I am saving or what for at the end of the day.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0

Hello, I'd also like to join this challenge next year as I am now debt free. I'd like there to be £15k in savings by end Dec next year. Currently there is about £2k.Spend less now, work less later.0

#72 here, just reported a bumper £1148.15 for November. The vast majority of this was a very kind gift from family rather than saving from income. Realistically I think I will use a chunk of this for redecorating next month so may well see a negative December but oh well, might as well stick it into the savings for the time being...2018 wins: Aspinal of London jewellery box, Boudavida gym outfit, HP Pavilion laptop, The List party tickets, All Points East festival tickets, Kiehls moisturiser, By Terry cc serum, Nars Liquid Bronzer, Benefit highlighter, Nars illuminator, Fresh advanced lip trio set, Cetaphil sample set, signed copy of My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent0

that's sad tempus_fugit hope you're ok? For me I use this thread as a personal motivator, I do like to see how others are doing though and how they're doing it, I know I don't post as much as I should do either...

Hi all
I've just submitted my November update of £250. That brings my YTD total to £2900; £900 past my goal and it will be £1150 when we get to the December update. I fully expected to be able to save that much when I set my goal, but had intended to stop submitting money into my long term savings once I reached £2k and use anything beyond this to give my rainy day pot (aka my new to me car fund) a boost. However, since then, I set up a regular saver and decided to continue counting it as long term savings after all.
The car I'm after is still a fair stretch away from being within my means, and I'm not sure how I'll address the shortfall if there is one when I decide to take the plunge but, as long term savings, the money will be safely tucked away for a while longer AND I'm still managing to top up the rainy day pot by a reasonable amount each month, so I will get there... eventually!
Maybe I'll use the interest from the regular savers to top up the fund instead, as it will still be a step in the right direction?!
Well done to everyone for making it this far into the year! :T£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

No 133 declaring £3600 for November. Most I have saved in one month ever I think.
SF please could you add me to the list for 2017. Definitely want to continue with the motivation I get from this thread. As always huge thanks for running the thread and for the inspiration from your blog.0 -
Sign me up to the 2017 list as well! And give me my same number lucky #8!!

Just checking in to report £733.29 for November. Higher than I was expecting as I just had some pretty terrible news at work so have spent much of the last week not in the most sober of states! Anyway, I'm pleased to be back in the £700s - hopefully next month I'll be back in the £800s.
Keep going everyone, just one month left now!0
