Hi everyone!
Stewby well done on clearing the credit card!
No damage caused by yesterday's flooding, thankfully, but it did give me the kick up the bum I needed to sort our contents insurance. It should have been done a few weeks ago but the company I decided to use wouldn't accept my email address for some reason. All sorted now, and a £20 voucher on its way too.
Weekly shop done today. £40, which included a new kettle, as ours has given up, and party supplies, so not too bad! It's DDs birthday tomorrow. hoping she will be made up as she is getting the item she was disappointed not to get for Xmas (she didn't say she was disappointed, but I could just see it in her face!). Will just be a small family party, but have started prepping some food already so there's less to do tomorrow.
Now enjoying some alone time on the sofa as everyone else is in bed already.0 -

Woohoo Stewby  :j :T Well done!!! So pleased for you :T
Calling, flirt with no shame-whatever it takes :rotfl: Well yesterday I was held hostage in DS's bedroom! The cat came into the living room with a mouse  I locked him in the front room with it and ran upstairs-I was petrifiedWhen the kids came in they sorted it out! The neighbours have been getting them too, but with no cat theirs are alive. I started my exercise yesterday, not a lot, but I started so that's a positive.
Not much to report, I feel really lazy and just want to stay indoors and feel really guilty as I really need to do more with my youngest. We attempted to build one of the lego sets I got him for christmas. Not my forte to be honest. It certainly showed, he was doing so well, I put a couple of pieces on and broke half of it and he burst into tears :A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Stewby - congratulations!
Traveller - awww poor little boy. I'd probably have done the same thoughas in broken the set. It's not my forte either.

calling you've made me blush and I was just reading it.I wonder what thoughts were running through your neighbour roofer's mind.
Hahaha.
Hugs fmess :grouphug: I hope you had a nice me time last night.
Well done welshkitty on sorting out your contents insurance. In the recent events of floodings even in places where floodings are unheard of, you can't really be too sure. I too need to get a kick on the back side and get my life insurance sorted. I'm not getting any younger and I need to organise my estate before it's too late (that sounded morbid, but unfortunately true).
Finished my last shift in my old job last Saturday night, hopefully that's the last night shift in my entire working life (who knows where the wind will blow in the future). I am off this week and I'm planning to use this week to do major cleaning and decluttering to get ready for my 9-5 job. I would need to be very organised and establish a good routine to keep things from getting on top of me. (As per Bob's advice).
I have so far avoided the sales. I've been a good girl.. The boys need a thing or two for their wardrobe but will try to make it a quick trip either tomorrow or Wednesday. There's £80 in the kitty for clothes and shoes but hoping not to use the whole lot.

Wrote a long post but lost it because I accidentally closed Chrome
So here it goes again!!
As I've been absent for a few days I decided I would write 12 things I am grateful for:
Christmas Day
1. Spending time with my family
2. My presents
3. My mum cooking a yummy dinner
Boxing Day
4. Spending time with MIL
5. Northern family are all ok (hubby is northern and from Todmorden where the floods are)
6. Mum and dad letting us stay Christmas night so we could both drink (not that we had much haha)
Yesterday
7. Next door helping us with boiler
8. Mum and dad letting us have a bath at theirs
9. Wasn't too cold so didn't need to use electric heaters
Today
10. Boiler has been fixed so I now have heating and hot water
11. Started work and hour later so I had extra time in bed
12. Boiler engineer coming early so hubby could still get into work
Have a good day every one

Thanks very much for the congratulations.
Feeling really quite awesome and actually (rather embarassingly) a bit proud of myself as I paid it all off without resorting to the usual "bank of mum and dad" when the 0% deal finished.
Have gotten my plan to mangle the mortgage all sorted and have started it today (working it from the 28th - 28th of each month). Am really excited about this next stage of my life. Going to be an actual responsible adult with an overpayment plan for my mortgage and an emergency fund building.
Wow... couldn't have even imagined this a few years ago. It's a bit scary to be honest.
Hugs to everyone and thanks again for the well wishes.
