Well done stewby! I can remember when you joined so nice to see you have finished your dfw journey
I am looking forward to the jan challenge starting as I have been very spendy the past few months. I've been renting my spare room on airbnb and got used to earning £600 per month then this month I only had a £26 booking! Luckily I've now had a longer booking but it has made me think about not relying on it. Since I've been debt free ive been pretty lax on the budgets and have got a 0% card and am definetely slipping back into my old waysi am going to stop using the cards for a few days after I've ordered something tomorrow so I can check balances ready for starting on Friday

Hi everyone.
Heard some awful news this morning that an old school friend has passed away. She was 30, fit, always exercising, and ate a healthy diet. I don't know the circumstances but it has come as a shock. We weren't close after leaving school but it still puts life into perspective.
In happier news, DDs birthday has gone rather well. She had 2 friends and some family round for a buffet style lunch, which went down well. She is happy with her presents and has spent most of the day playing with her main present.
I have just done a stock take on my freezer and am attempting a meal plan and shopping list for January. (Thinking of doing a main shop at the beginning of the month then smaller weekly ones for items like milk and bread.) Once that's done I will set my budgets and goals for January. Am looking forward to 2016.0 -
Clippy,I'm glad you got a better booking:T Welshkitty, sorry for your bad news

Evening all,
traveller glad ds got his Lego sorted
welshkitty sorry to hear about your old friend
Today was a spendy day as I caught up with a couple of friends over lunch. It is, in my mind, my only outing until meeting friends for my birthday towards the end of January. At least I have the excuse of the electrician to help me say no this month.
Tomorrow is another chiropractor appointment and I'm hoping she'll let me go to an appointment every 2 weeks as my budget can't cope with it every week (it can't cope with it every 2 weeks either but at least it'd be half the damage!)
Today I am grateful for:-
1.) supportive friends
2.) my warm home
3.) feeling a bit more motivated to tidy and declutter my homeLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Welshkitty very sad news,hugs.
Fmess good luck with chiropractor. I did some decluttering the other day and can't understand why I didn't do it a long time ago. Now have neat cupboards, storage space, binned a whole drawful of old make up. So old wouldn't have used. Tomorrow's plan clear bottom of fitted wardrobes out. Could sell quite a bit of stuff lurking in there, hopefullyLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Was aiming for NSD today, but DH stopped by at Mr. A for petrol top up (only 99.7p/liter) then called in to the sm for milk and came out with 3 loaves of bread for 5p each and 12 cinnamon rolls (yum yum) for 30p. Oh and we got 25p cash back for the milk from shopitise."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150

Morning today transferred £15 into my EF.
Found £3 spare so transferred to my debts.
Welshkitty just realised last night my daughter was telling me about her friend on Facebook died suddenly when we were walking around the zoo, must be the same one. Very sad by the sounds of it she did suffer bouts of depression.
Will be Sfd for me today, maybe stroll in fresh air, off out for lunch tomorrow so keeping what cash I have for that.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
welshkitty sorry to hear about your sad news.
stewby congratulations
Almost New Year so for the last part of December's challenge, I would like everyone to think about the goal they identified at the start of the month to achieve next year. Break it down into smaller manageable steps, think about what might prevent you from achieving your goal and what you can do to overcome any barriers. You don't have to post about it but just have a wee think.
Right I'm off to post my intentions in January's thread and then I suppose I better get ready for work. Back later, hope everyone has a good day.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Welshkitty - how sad.
Yesterday was a spendy day, both cars were filled up but it is all budgeted for.
DH is back at work today so it is just me and the kids, the sun is shining so I think we may get out for a walk at some point but I do have to wait for a parcel to be delivered (DS's birthday next week and this is one of his presents) which is a pain.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
