Stewby, congratulations on being DF hurrah!
Welshkitty- that's so sad, I'm sorry to hear that, that must have been such a shock.
Pleased to report I have paid £200 off my debt so I'm not far off myself, hoping to shave another £100 off in January.
My plan for next year is to get DF and then start making the moves to leave my H. I can't take anymore, he's a borderline alcoholic and a complete workaholic, he won't try and make things better and will not admit he has a problem, I believe he is the root of my depression and anxiety and although he is not a bad person and does not hurt me or the kids of anything, I have gradually lost all my self confidence and self esteem, i have single handedly project managed our building work, I manage everything and try to keep things ticking over but something has got to give. I'm so frightened, I don't know how I will get through this or even where to start. Looks like next year will be just as tough as this one has been,

    Hello all!

Gosh, where do I start? Can I summarise by saying sorry to hear the sad news :( and congratulations on the acievements :) to respective posters.

A nice respite and a certain amount of over-indulgence behind me. Now time to buckle down, ready for the next month/year. Now up to 13/15 SFDs, unlikely to avoid expenditure today and tomorrow, but I'm going to try.

Misstara: good idea about the big objective for next year. I realised the other day that I haven't had a proper "away from home" holiday for 6 years, so I'm going to make that, and to stop smoking, additional targets for next year.
GSRcat: just seen your post, was writing mine while you posted. So sorry to hear of your situation. You sound like you could really do with some support. Aside from your GP and local NHS, MIND is a national mental health charity that might be able to help in confidence. I hope you get the support you deserve and I'm sure you will find the strength to deal with it and move forward. Here's a link to search for your nearest local MIND centre:-
    Grateful for:-
    Warm scarf (gift)
Having the willpower to vape and not to smoke at my sister's
    Effective analgesics

Keep up the good effort everyone, the successes are rewarding to hear about and very encouraging! :D

MrsGSR It sounds like you are making a very positive decision in a very difficult situation. I was not married, or had children with my ex but leaving him has been life changing, as I felt like you do, that he was the cause of my low self confidence and was eroding all the good things about me. If you want to talk, I'm here, PM me and definitely go to your GP and get counselling (if you haven't already), my counsellor has really helped put my old relationship into perspective.

So I came on here because I can't quite believe what has just happened. I was going to move my new credit card debt (electrician/chiropractor related) to a 0% deal that came through the post the other day, however this morning another 0% deal from one of my current credit cards came through and they are also offering a 0% cash advance with a 2.99% charge. This got me thinking. I called my loan company and they said my balance was £160 less than I thought :j and that if I paid it off within 30 days, I'd save £450 interest. The charge for getting a cash advance from the credit card company would only be £45, therefore saving me £405 in interest :j I am so excited and off to put all of this into motion!

GSRcat - tough times ahead for sure but we are all here for you.

Fmess - wow that is fab news about your deal.

Me and the kids have walked the dog in the woods, he and the kids were charging around like lunatics and seem to have enjoyed it. We called at McD's for a free coffee after. The house is a bit cleaner and I've got two loads of washing dry outside which is a result at this time of year.

Not time to read through. I am okay. My cursor is sticking so currently on library computer and only have about 12 minutes left. Just updated my figures. Some are not as bad as they look.

Had a call on Sunday from mum. She was too ill to open a can of soup, so spent most of Sunday and yesterday there, dispensing soup, butties, pills and trying to control her partner (he has Alzheimers amongst other things). He keeps switching the light on (it's hurting mum's eyes because of the shingles), followed her upstairs yesterday when she went for a lie down in the dark, switched the light on 3 times, she was screaming).

His hearing aids were turned up too loud and were whistling (more like tiny bagpipes). Yesterday he had taken them out and I think they were in his pockets (I wouldn't go in his pockets). He could no longer hear them, mum can't because the spots are making her aids too sore to wear, so just me plagued by mini bagpipes all day, following a night trying to sleep in a reclining chair with a flashing Christmas tree by my head. So glad to be home

    Good afternoon.

I have been checking my credit card account daily (well more than daily actually) and today is the day where it actually says £0.00!!!!!

I can't believe how awesome this feels and I can't wait to watch you all experience this for yourself (hope this doesn't sound cheeky or anything, it's not my intention).
    :o

Roll on 2016 and the next challenge. Thank you all for the congratulations. I am really grateful for all the help and support on here. I would have definitely gotten bored and given up if it wasn't for you all.
    Hugs.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Sorry I have spent most of the last week out of proper signal and have had lots of really annoying spend ages posting only for it to be gone when I pressed send, moments.

Mothernerd - your poor mum. And her partner. Are they getting any carer visits at all? That sounds like way too much for you to be doing considering your own health.

GSRCAT - I really sympathise with your situation. It sounds like getting out is truly the best thing to do for you.

Well. I was chuffed to log on and see my shiny new shopping trolly badge. It's for having my wombling thread included in the newsletter apparently. A nice feeling to have been of use to others

There were terrible high winds last night where we were. Glad to be getting home soon :)
