    Merry Christmas everyone.

I am itching to sort through my receipts but trying to have an entire day without doing anything that could be construed as 'work' - need to learn to switch off completely from time to time.

Today I am grateful for a visit from DS2, for lovely food, for candles, for books (reading through a whole pile of Hamish Macbeth murder mysteries) and Christmas University Challenge (not keeping score but think I am winning, so far).

    Good morning

Well we have some how managed a lie in! No one woke before 6 today, my son slept till 7 which is unheard of and we've stayed in bed with the baby till now. Feels such a treat.

Have just been on to make a £10 PAD which is coming from Christmas money but I think it's a good use of it. Good morning Calling btw who had just beat me on the PAD thread this morning.

It's a really good feeling to know Christmas was lovely yesterday and was paid for 100% with cash and not credit.

I can't decide whether to try for another day at home with a walk at some point to break it up, or to pop down to Mr S and scan my 4000 points coupon for having done the right number of shops in December to qualify..that's £20 in nectar points. But we don't need anything food wise so would it just be a temptation we don't need? I can't decide. Ah well one for later. I also wombled a 48 point reciept yesterday on our xmas walk so could get that added on too if we did go.

    Back later

    Bob

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great day :) Well done everyone for extra payments :T Well mine was interesting! Mum was more interested in watching T.V after the dinner than speaking me and my sister and made this clear by turning the volume up when we had a quiet chat! It really got on nerves as in the end we had to communicate by notes to eachother  Mothernerd-NEXT TIME I'M LISTENING TO YOU :rotfl: The positive is that my sister is off to San Diego next year and I am half considering going there when we go away next year.

My exes brother really shocked me. Apparently he asked my youngest what he had got me for christmas? My youngest replied nothing as he has no money. He then gave him 20.00 telling him to buy me a gift as he has to get me a present :) Ironic, their own dad couldn't give a rats !!!!! if I got anything! As kind as the sentiment is, that money is going towards debt or the holiday rather than tat I don't need :T Well i feel really tired today, so I'm going back to sleep :) Have a good day everyone :)

Bob, glad you were able to lie in-bliss :D I would avoid the supermarket unless it has to be done today? I'm glad you confirmed indirectly that my use of my unexpected present is a good one as I too will be using that cash for some sort of payment :D And good luck with your holiday fund :T Keep a close eye on holiday pirates. They always have great deals on there :)

Traveller - that's terrible of your mum with the TV thing! It sounds like you and your sister enjoyed each others company though? Good to compare travel notes :)
I don't see why gift money can't be spent on repayments. It's yours to do as you please with. I'd just tell a white lie if anyone asks you about it specifically. Thanks for the tip off on that site too.

  • We had a lovely day yesterday - just the 3 of us pottering around the house. We had a lovely phone call with my mum, exchanged emails with sd2 who was off to the beach in Melbourne for an 'orphan's Christmas' and was expecting 28 degrees, had a phone call from ss, and skyped sd1 in Canada where snow was falling.

I am pleased to say it was also another NSD so I have reached December's target!

Can't quite comprehend that the sales started BEFORE Christmas - I need nowt and have no plans to buy anything. Am looking forward to scooping over what is left at the end of the month and paying down the mortgage a little more.

Cheers for those using monies to pay down debts - well done you!!
