@IanManc and @Consumerist, can I respectfully request that you take your personal vendetta elsewhere and keep this thread focussed on relevant information?

I must admit, I'm a bit fed up with it too. In hindsight this would have been better dealt with using PM.

Just noticed that email Octopus sent out yesterday as have been laid up ill last couple of days. Just replied to them as requested that  i applied to leave Avro on 20th September and have start date of 7th October with Sainsburys. I also gave them another couple of readings today using the link in email but they probably won't need them as they should have gas and electricity readings for 22nd and 26th anyway.

Why are Avro still sending out meter reading reminders even today?
My understanding is that they are no longer in business and Octopus have taken over with effect from 26th September.
My meter readings have already been provided for both 22nd September (when Avro announced they had ceased trading) and 26th September (the date when Octopus stated they had officially taken over from).
I have no intention of providing Avro with any further meter readings!
  • i got one yesterday as well ????

I got a lovely reminder my direct debit was going to be taken in 5 days time...
I suspect someone forgot to turn off all the automated reminder software.
In the end I've resorted to cancelling it and re-creating a new one with Octopus.

Octopus claim they will receive the money Avro are taking, however I'm not convinced & I cancelled mine and set up a new one.

Nobody has turned it off, the software is probably hosted elsewhere.

Who is going to pay for the work to turn it off?

Who knows, but work on the old systems is still happening, e.g. the "finalread" website which was sent to customers a couple of days ago.

I would hope that it would be the first action taken by any appointed responsible and competent administrator to make their job easier and less complicated? .......but then again this is Avro! :D
