    Flexible Octopus October 2021 v1

    Electricity
        Unit rate: 20.3 p/kWh
        Standing charge: 24.01 p/day

    Gas
        Unit rate: 3.83 p/kWh
        Standing charge: 23.85 p/day

    Hope that helps

They vary by area though, hence the need for a postcode.

  • I have used that link extensively myself since it appears to be the authority. But the user still has the difficulty in interpreting "current" and "historical" tariffs referred to elsewhere.

Clue:  One lists older flexible Tariffs, the other more recent flexible tariffs... ;)

Sorry. That was for Eastern region. The poster was asking for a rough idea.
I've edited the post to add the Eastern region.

  • I merely made the point that if you are not able to apply for a tariff then it is clearly not available - unless a browser setting was interfering with your ability to apply. Then you go off at the deep end because I tried to help.

Just to let people know, the Avro website is still running and producing bills.
It'll be run by someone outside Avro and today's update on  https://octopus.energy/avro/  confirms this:
"We are now working with Avro's technology partners...".

From what others have reported, what is current and what is historical seems to depend on whether you are new to Octopus or not. Theory of Relativity.

  • My Avro D/D normally gets taken on the 2nd of each month;...is it wise to leave the D/D in place?...or cancel it?

If the D/D is taken on the 2nd who would take it?...would it be  Avro, the receivers or Octopus?.... and where would the money actually go?

My last (accurate) Avro bill dated 11th Sept says I’m £177 in credit and my D/D is £116/month.

If my next D/D goes to Octopus and counts towards my first bill that’s fine, but I don’t want the next D/D  to increase my Avro credit balance only to find Octopus want a new  D/D of £150’ish just a few days later.

If you pay by Direct Debit please do not cancel it. This will continue as usual and be paid to Octopus and not Avro. You will need to pay for the energy you use, and if you cancel your direct debit, you may start to build up debt. If you have cancelled it already, don't worry, we will contact you about this.
