Avro Energy reviews: Give your feedback

I merely made the point that if you are not able to apply for a tariff then it is clearly not available - unless a browser setting was interfering with your ability to apply. Then you go off at the deep end because I tried to help.

There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
My Avro D/D normally gets taken on the 2nd of each month;...is it wise to leave the D/D in place?...or cancel it?
If the D/D is taken on the 2nd who would take it?...would it be Avro, the receivers or Octopus?.... and where would the money actually go?
My last (accurate) Avro bill dated 11th Sept says I’m £177 in credit and my D/D is £116/month.
If my next D/D goes to Octopus and counts towards my first bill that’s fine, but I don’t want the next D/D to increase my Avro credit balance only to find Octopus want a new D/D of £150’ish just a few days later.

If you pay by Direct Debit please do not cancel it. This will continue as usual and be paid to Octopus and not Avro. You will need to pay for the energy you use, and if you cancel your direct debit, you may start to build up debt. If you have cancelled it already, don't worry, we will contact you about this.

Personally, I do not see the point of building up even more credit (mine is north of £250 as of yesterday) until I know what I am going to be charged and have the option to move if I so wish. However much or little credit we have, I think it may be safe to assume we will not see it for some time yet so I see no reason to add to it and have, therefore, cancelled my DD.
For those in debt, it is perhaps different as cancelling will only compound the issue but I doubt that applies to many at this time of year.
On a different note, I still cannot log into the historical Avro site; the only way I can access it and get any information is by using the administrator's version quoted above.
At the risk of repeating myself, I have found this thread very helpful indeed and wish to thank those who have posted links particularly. Thanks.1 -

No, the only difference is that only certain tariffs are available to be selected by new customers, that doesn't alter which are current or historical.

I posted a request for information from a named poster. In response you have:
- stated that the named poster, who you knew absolutely nothing about, had "Probably applied to switch 3 weeks ago when it was available" when the tariff had only been available for 11 days, the poster did not apply for it three weeks ago and the tariff is still showing as "currently available" on the Octopus website.
- stated, in complete contradiction of the facts, "But surely, even if the site says the tariff is 'available' but you can't apply for it then either it is not actually available to apply for or else your browser settings may need some adjustment." when it had been explained to you that the Octopus website says that the tariff is currently available, and when there was no reason to suggest that there's anything wrong with my browser settings.
- doubled down on your error by saying "if you are not able to apply for a tariff then it is clearly not available - unless a browser setting was interfering with your ability to apply" when Octopus say it is available, and the poster to whom the original question was directed has explained how he got it, and when it has been carefully explained to you that Octopus have many tariffs currently available yet only provide online quotes, and an online application facility, for the two of them which they themselves describe as their "most popular".
-complained that a posting was "unkind" when there was no such unkindness present; and yet said yourself "There is certainly no need to get snotty" and "Then you go off at the deep end", both of which are unkind personal remarks which breach the forum rules.
- say "I tried to help" when what you have actually done is respond to a question to which you clearly didn't know the answer, post uninformed guesswork that didn't answer the question, and then respond with personal remarks when you are presented with actual facts which contradict the things you have made up.
