Personally, I do not see the point of building up even more credit (mine is north of £250 as of yesterday) until I know what I am going to be charged and have the option to move if I so wish. However much or little credit we have, I think it may be safe to assume we will not see it for some time yet so I see no reason to add to it and have, therefore, cancelled my DD.
For those in debt, it is perhaps different as cancelling will only compound the issue but I doubt that applies to many at this time of year.
On a different note, I still cannot log into the historical Avro site; the only way I can access it and get any information is by using the administrator's version quoted above.
At the risk of repeating myself, I have found this thread very helpful indeed and wish to thank those who have posted links particularly. Thanks.1 -

No, the only difference is that only certain tariffs are available to be selected by new customers, that doesn't alter which are current or historical.

I realise everyone here is attempting to be helpful but fail to see what difference it makes whether we use the historical Avro site or the administrators' one, where we don't have to keep trying or be told to wait 15 minutes. It is a website, not a bus and my meter readings are on the admin one so why should I bother with that of a company which has traded fraudulently and left us all in a very deep hole?
I just realised this p.m. why I have been feeling so unwell for the last three days; I have been too cold and that does not work for me at all. I have been reluctant to turn on the heating when, before, I would not have hesitated to do so. Octopus really need to step up and tell us what they will be charging so we can do something about it before we run up one penny of debt we don't need to. If Ofgem can move this quickly, so can Octopus, imo. All they need to do is post the tariff rates on their Avro page, after all. It would take them five minutes, if that.0 -
IanManc said:I did not "go off at the deep end". . . blah, blah, blahThanks for the summary. Here's mine:Q: 'may I ask you how you changed to Octopus today and got onto a variable tariff?'A: 'Probably applied to switch 3 weeks ago when it was available.'So my response was largely accurate but you don't want to admit it.

It would take them five minutes, if that.As explained a few pages earlier, you can get the tariff info from <Octopus>. Enter your postcode then just wait a few seconds for the tariff list to load. At the top, click on the 'Filters' drop-down list. Select 'flexible' from the options. In my case the flexible October 2021 v1 is third on the list.Let us know how you get on.

Telegraph_Sam said:Does the "new customer" / "existing [Octopus] customer" debate come into it?Sam, forget about that part, it is only relevant in the original context that I raised it, which is if you apply to join Octopus as a new customer you will only see a small fraction of the published tariffs.0
