I initiated a switch from EDF to Avro Energy on the 16th of September. My switch date is the 7th of October. What happens if they go bust between now and then?0

What happens if they go bust between now and then? The switch should go ahead since it's controlled by the new supplier. It may take some time to get handover readings sorted, however.EditIf you don't already do so as a matter of course, it might be a good idea to send the new supplier a snapshot of your meter readings on the switch date.

How could Avro complete the switch if they go bust though? I'm in the process of switching TO them, not away.0

If in the circs that you describe the D/D is justifiable then the problem doesn't arise and this correspondence is irrelevant. Reading through the posts however it seems that this is not always the case and the question arises how best to react. I have for example used regular manual top ups to maintain a zero account balance. If this is not acceptable what alternative are you suggesting other than giving the supplier free hand to run up the credit balance to unreasonablr levels? Which in most cases is the default it would sppear.Telegraph Sam

To state the bl**ding obvious, it might be prudent for all Avro customers to download any account info they may need from their website - if it's still up and running.
