Coming up for renewal, and the price they are offering me for Simple and superpremier is £10 per month more than the simple and superpremium tariff they offer on comparison websites.
So, it seems to me they don't offer the same quotes to existing customers. And worse than that, they have chosen a very similar name for my tariff versus their open market tariff (premier versus premium) to reassure me that they are near the best buy end of the comparison table, when in fact that is not the case.
When I was with SP, they also had tariffs on comparison sites that were not offered to their existing customers.
But they would allow you to go through the comparison site to get the tariff even though you were already with them.
Don`t know if Avro would do the same.
Avro don't appear on many comparison sites, presumably because they don't pay them commission. Last time a looked (about 10 days ago), the CAB comparison site, which doesn't process switches, just shows available suppliers, had Avro at the top, but with a tariff that they withdrew last August. Is that a case of Avro not supplying CAB with up-to-date tariffs, or CAB not updating their system?

If by CAB you mean https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/
I`ve just run a check and the cheapest for me would be Simple and USuperSavvy12M  which is also available through the Avro site.
On the Avro site, at the moment, there are twelve tariffs available for me to switch to.
These are also all listed on the above link if you scroll down far enough.
This site must have been updated since you looked 10 days ago.
I`m fixed until next May so don`t have to bother at the moment.
Interesting, they only offer me the one tariff to switch to, Simple and SuperPremier. Once they know my address on their public page, they insist I log in to retrieve my quote, and just give me the one tariff.

I take care of my sisters utilities and switched her away from Avro but they blocked the switch without letting me know.  When I contacted them, I was told that the account was in arrears and could not switch until a payment of £400 was made to clear the account.  Now this amount may be owing and I have no problem paying it but stopping the switch without getting in contact is not right.
AVRO followed the terms of the contract.  Were you really unaware of such a large debt - and how that debt might affect matters?

    Thanks 2010 for that info.
I will be in the same boat soon. Perhaps gwapenut will let us know how that pans out.

From my experience, Avro don't allow existing customers to take up deals that show on some comparison sites.  On 8th January I received an email from Avro telling me my current contract is coming to an end (19th February) and inviting me to click on the "Get a quote" button, which I did - the deal I was offered was their Simple and SuperPremium tariff with a monthly DD of £96 (I currently pay £83pm on Simple and SuperFixed so they've over-inflated the DD as usual - more of that later*).  Coincidentally, this email arrived as I was looking at the four main comparison websites to see my options - Avro didn't appear on any of them.  I then used the CA comparison site and found the cheapest tariff available to me was Avro's Simple and MSuperSavvy12M and Simple and USuperSavvy12M (both the same price, but still £98pa more than I'm currently paying).  As you all know, you can't switch via the CA site, and as I was logged into my Avro account (having requested a quote from them), I looked for the two tariffs listed on the CA comparison site and they weren't there.  I then logged out of my account and searched for tariffs on Avro's website as if I was a new customer, but of course, the first thing they have you do is enter your postcode and then when they've had you enter the rest of your address details, their site recognises you're an existing customer and only offers you the tariff they already gave you in their customer quote!
*Anyway, as I can only find two companies who can provide cheaper tariffs, but the savings are pennies and I've never heard of either of them, I've renewed with Avro.  However, I'm currently in credit with Avro (I have been for most of the last year!) and don't expect this to be used up by my renewal, so I will do what I did last year; ask them to reduce the monthly DD and when the credit reaches more than one month's DD, ask them to repay it (they did both these things last year).

London Energy came up comparable for me, and they have an excellent rep, being small and new but owned by Octopus, but sadly are geo-locked to Londoners only.

If Avro get back to me, I may stick with them even if they don't let me have the cheaper tariff. If they don't respond at all, then I will switch away.

Exactly the same experience as me (see my previous post) except the tariff they're offering me is Simple and SuperPremium.

That shows me the same Simple and USuperSavvy12M (and Simple and MSuperSavvy12M at the same price), but the Avro site itself only shows one - Simple and SuperPremier - at a higher cost. I got that with the existing customer address and a nearby different address picked at random. Still only one tariff shown, how did you see 12 available on the Avro site?

I actually find their "Simple and...." tariffs anything but. There are hundreds of them!

Yes, but they're not offered to us as a switching optin. That's just a master price list.
