I had the same Estimate issue with them (discussed about 100 pages back), although not complicated by a smart meter in my case, in that whatever reading I submitted, between their reminder and the billing date (3 day window), it might use it for the date submitted, then an estimate for the period of time between my reading and the exact billing time, even if it was only a few hours. I tried submitting, a little after midnight on my billing anniversary (which changed, because it's a property I was managing under an LPA, but have now inherited, so not my own home) and it still did an estimate.
So my bill would always have the format of 3 readings for the month (E, C, E) - their closing estimate from the previous month, my reading in the middle, then their estimate for the closing reading of that month. The difference was only the odd pound or two, but it was frustrating when I'd taken the time to submit an accurate reading at their requested time and there was a perpetual error carried forward.
I did email them about it and after some back and forth, they made some tweaks on my account and now if I submit a reading when I get up, on the billing date (a time they suggested), it uses it each month and my bills now tally with my own calculations. It seems there's some setting on the account that they can adjust to ensure it takes your reading - as the first month when I was hoping it was going to be right, it was for electric (E, C), but not gas (again E, C, E), so I went back to the same person that had sorted it and she said something about the adjustment not seemingly working for gas, but she'd sorted it now and it would be okay going forwards, which it has been - to the penny.
So it might be worth emailing them and seeing if you can get it sorted for your own account.0 -

When I was with SP, they also had tariffs on comparison sites that were not offered to their existing customers.gwapenut said:Coming up for renewal, and the price they are offering me for Simple and superpremier is £10 per month more than the simple and superpremium tariff they offer on comparison websites.
So, it seems to me they don't offer the same quotes to existing customers. And worse than that, they have chosen a very similar name for my tariff versus their open market tariff (premier versus premium) to reassure me that they are near the best buy end of the comparison table, when in fact that is not the case.
But they would allow you to go through the comparison site to get the tariff even though you were already with them.
Don`t know if Avro would do the same.2 -
Avro don't appear on many comparison sites, presumably because they don't pay them commission. Last time a looked (about 10 days ago), the CAB comparison site, which doesn't process switches, just shows available suppliers, had Avro at the top, but with a tariff that they withdrew last August. Is that a case of Avro not supplying CAB with up-to-date tariffs, or CAB not updating their system?2010 said:

I tried Energylinx last night and Avro appears on their site but directed me to the Avro site.victor2 said:

Yes, I will let you know. I've already contacted their renewals people (by email) asking about the other tariffs. No response yet.Consumerist said:2010 said:

I take care of my sisters utilities and switched her away from Avro but they blocked the switch without letting me know. When I contacted them, I was told that the account was in arrears and could not switch until a payment of £400 was made to clear the account. Now this amount may be owing and I have no problem paying it but stopping the switch without getting in contact is not right.0

I have just renewed again with Avro. I always do a check and never see on the two comparison sites visited. I looked at Avro renewal charge. The cheapest unheard of companies were either both under 85p and 45p a month cheaper - yep a small saving...nearest heard of was £2 a month more...so for third year running have stuck with Avro - not had any problems so far.0

Don`t know if Avro would do the same.
I`ve just run a check and the cheapest for me would be Simple and USuperSavvy12M which is also available through the Avro site.
On the Avro site, at the moment, there are twelve tariffs available for me to switch to.
These are also all listed on the above link if you scroll down far enough.
This site must have been updated since you looked 10 days ago.
I`m fixed until next May so don`t have to bother at the moment.
