I notice the meter reading s teen has improved from last month. Much easier. I tried the quote but after logging in couldn't then find a quote page etc?0

That's odd. I don't need to get a quote before log-in (using Firefox).victor2 said:. . . Still has the crazy need to request a quote before you login to see what an existing customer can get though!

The "Get a Quote" option is there before you sign in, but is replaced by "Sign out" once you have signed in. That is with Firefox too.Consumerist said:

As soon as you provide your address it realises you are an existing customer and gives you a log-in option. Do that and you get the quote. Been like that for ages and doesn't seem to have changed.

AFAIK, you have always needed to not be logged-in in order to get a quote. Not necessarily crazy - just a different - maybe, better - approach. ...

Suppose I could have worded my first comment better.Still think it's a crazy way for an existing customer to get a quote though!

I, being the charitable soul that I am, see this issue as part of AVRO's determination to offer everyone - both existing and prospective customers - the same rates. I know that they can fork after detecting that you are an existing customer - but I've not seen them do this.I, and many others, have saved a lot of money through AVRO's open approach to resetting the clock on a good tariff.1

I had smart meters installed in November. Last month I had an estimated bill even though I submitted a manual meter reading on the day I usually do.
This month, I submitted a manual meter reading a day earlier, so that even if it had 1 day estimated, it would be largely accurate.
However, my bill has come through estimated again, with no sign of my manual readings showing on the bill.
My current tariff ends in 2 months, so I need to look around, but I hope the billing gets sorted soon0 -
I may be guessing here but Avro were very reluctant about offering smart meters in the first place and were forced to do so by Ofgem, who stopped them from taking on new customers until they did so.rjmachin said:I had smart meters installed in November. You say your own readings are ignored but could it be the estimated readings are the smart meter readings?

Estimated readings would normally be indicated by an 'E' opposite the reading on the statement. I don't know how smart-meter readings would be indicated but I would think they would be regarded as 'actual' readings as opposed to 'customer' readings.2010 said:I may be guessing here but Avro were very reluctant about offering smart meters in the first place and were forced to do so by Ofgem, who stopped them from taking on new customers until they did so.
