  • The missing prices page discussed earlier is back online with a new link https://customer.avroenergy.co.uk/Prices
They also appear to have launched Simple and SuperPrime to replace Simple and SuperConnect although I don't when they did this.
Both gas and electricity prices have gone up.

The link in the email notification  for the above doesn't work.

For some reason, the notification has dropped the dot that is in the posting.
Has anyone found any good points about the system MSE has foisted upon us?
The link that youravinalarrrf posted works for me (there's no missing full-stop between the co and uk in the link they posted).
  • On refection polymaff means the email notification for new posts which of course I never got because it was my new post.

There's nothing wrong with your original post.  This appears to be yet another ridiculous fault in MSE's latest forum software.
Why on earth did they abandon a competent system for an under-featured, bug-riddled load of  ......... ?
  • Just checked it now and edited it by removing the fullstop and putting it back in - it now works.
The mysteries of copy/pasting links. :)

I couldn't see anything wrong with the link you posted.  I clicked on it almost as soon as you posted it and it worked for me first time - thanks!
  • Just had an email re an offer to upgrade my old BG SMETS1 ‘smart’ meters to SMETS2 - coming a week on Tuesday - watch this space 😊
I'm looking forward to your update. :)
I'd love to get my old BritishGas smart (long since 'dumb') meters replaced.

I just tried that Avro link too and it worked just fine.  Only the first four in the list seem currently available but I think that is normal for most suppliers.

Can none of you read and comprehend?  I wrote:

Not just this thread affected, either. Here's another MSE forum EMAIL NOTIFICATION just received. It also has a crucial dot missing. Can you spot where it should be?

Why on earth did MSE abandon a very competent piece of software for this rubbish system?

Smodlet and I can both read and comprehend, but we both obviously did the same thing, namely, clicked on the "Check it out" button in the email notification we received to take us to the original comment posted on here, and then clicked on the posted link which has no full-stop missing between the "co" and the "uk" so took us straight away to the information the poster (avinalarrrf) referenced.  If you want to complain about MSE's email notifications corrupting the posted links, i.e. removing the full-stop between the "co" and the "uk", I suggest you send them a direct message, instead of clogging up a discussion thread titled "Avro Energy Reviews" with your irritation about various IT issues, as you see them, which is particularly ironic when you rudely tell other posters that their comments are "totally irrelevant" and suggest they remove them.
  • Re the Smart meter upgrade promise :-(
All was going ok until I had a pre-visit call from the installers.... when they asked what my current meters were (already disclosed to Avro!) and I told them, they cancelled the install and referred me to Avro.

    Avro’s response:
“Unfortunately as you have the 1st generation Smart Meter, the meter loses it Smart functionality upon switching. We are currently awaiting updates from the Smart meter regulator, which will allow ourselves and any other supplier to read your meter remotely. We are hopeful these updates will be completed by Summer 2021.
Due to the quickly approaching update we are now unable to now exchange the SMETS1 for a SMETS2 as per Government Regulations.
We did not cancel this but Lowri Beck have informed us they are now unable to complete the suggested.”
So back to square one, all upgrade hopes dashed again!
