A couple of years later and this scam is still going on - what does it take to get it stopped?

It took all but the penultimate post before yours to figure this out - evidently what is being done atm isn't enough! Comntact MP's, get them to pressure the new chancellor and treasurer and get them to stop the companies from being alloed to trade. Ask for more regulation and perhaps more legislation to stop this.

These companes have wikipedia pages dont they? Try using them to alert the public of this! If the main company is based in the US which it seems to be, contact the SEC, or DoJ which is much more politically based/motivated. Heck even the WTC may give this a look and or the write to the Attorney General in either country. Watchdogs? Try regulatory agencies if its what your approach is.

Other than France in recent years with rioting and Greece this year that western world countries aren't capable of following our lead in the US in learning how to cause a commotion? Get it together people!

I really don't want yet more laws (with more loopholes which allow the previous behaviour to continue) to be made.

Yeah this is the worst part for me - i am a conservative more than a libertarian but the government is not the solution...

But that being said, the UK seems to be full of mindless drones these days and sheep need a shepphard, so if government action is the way you want to go, doing a halfass way (letters and phone calls) is not going to cut it.

Strange as it is, every time John Stossel talks about regulation and i agree with him that the market should be truly free some fuking crap like this comes up and it reminds me why consumer protection laws were put in place to start with.

In a shop? How sweet, you're mgt in a shop!

My OH is opening and will be running (well, currently decorating with a view to opening in 2 weeks) a floristry shop, could they be considered part of the management team? Pretty please? They have a C&G, and experience in doing stuff with flowers and all sorts!!! They've even done weddings and funerals and pre-nuptuals! They even have backing and don't need bank loans to run the shop!

And they already have two staff (from previous non-flower related businesses) to boss around so far. I suspect I'll be a third on my time off from my full time job. If only to deliver the flowers.

I've heard about what needs to be done to 'condition flowers' and it's not really to my liking. Too cold for starters, and it involves cutting stems off in their prime, at a 45' angle..

    On a more serious note...

(Not kidding - they've now got higher qualifications than I have, and I do computers for a job! They do flowers!)

BTW, they looked into Interflora; until I pointed them in this direction. That said, they weren't impressed with the terms to begin with. As a business.

I think you can tell from this thead what the customers think.

They're going with eflorist (Teleflora renamed for those who remember them! I'd reccommend them in preference to interflora. Biased? Me? Yes, but still... )

Thanks for this thread, chaps. Details duly noted before I placed my order today.

For anyone ordering via Interflora, the web page to treat with caution comes after you have completed transaction and paid for your flowers.

Following the page confirming the details of your order, another page appears

  • ME TOOOOOO!!!!

I got scammed back in November!!! Using Ticket Master, yes I clicked on the £15 voucher, but I don't think I ever got it cause I remember the laptop crashing 3 times in fact.

Anyway not much luck via the bank (lloyds TSB) and have sent a rather blunt email to Shopper Discount, lets see if I get my £80 back. Guess it will teach me to check my bank statements more often!!!

I really cant believe that these people have been getting away with this for so many years!!! It's just not right!!!

Funny thing about them is when I googled them I havn't found one positive comment about the company!!! I tried to email Ticket Master to tell them I wasn't impressed, much to my annoyance I can't seem to contact them, any ideas!!!

If I get any money back I'll let you know, fingers crossed!!!
  • I bought train tickets on thetrainline.com a couple of days back and clicked on a button identical to this one. I'll keep an eye out to see if they're doing this scam too. I clicked on it and was taken to https://www.onlinevaluepack.com/?epid=13&actid=28 but it wasn't obvious what to do so I closed the site down.

If it's a scam then it looks really convincing on the originating website, normally I check the statusbar to see where the link is pointing to but as thetrainline.com is sound, I didn't do it. It sounds as though it's the same scam though.

  • Having been a victim of this scam I was eventually given this number by Barclaycard 08007319935 and promptly cancelled my "membership" When I asked how I had joined the person at shopper discount said that after ticking a box for a voucher on Interflora's site I would have been passed to another page belonging to shopper discount and then been asked for my details. I have absolutely no recollection of taking this action and suggest that this has now been implemented to make it seem more regular. Hope anyonelse gets more joy from their credit card company Barclaycard were hopeless to say the least. They had no interest whatsoever. Now intend to contact Interflora and complain to them.
  • How can Interflora possibly justify using a company like shopperdiscount on their web page. I was asked on your site if I wanted a £10 discount voucher. Who wouldn't? Now I realise I was conned into a company taking £10 out of my account for five months. Perhaps a voucher from Interflora for £50 would make it better. I assure you this is the only way I would use Interflora again. Get this looked into as you are bound to lose customers.
  • shopper discounts have been taking 10 pounds of my account, this is because the interflora site linked me to shopper discounts site and my details were passed on ... i phoned s/discounts spoke to a person called jo and said they would reimburce me 3 months ,, anymore and i would have to fill in a form ,, yes ,, silly me for being scamned but silly interflora for loseing me .
