Bag of potatoes - I presume that means she 'closes her eyes and thinks of England... or Enrique, or Paul, Or...'0 -
Answering OP question. Splitting assets on divorce are considered by completing form E which sets out respective earnings, savings, assets, debts, pension etc.
How proceeds are split ( if a fight ) is to look at the length of married, earning capacity, contributions etc. Without kids start point is often 50/50 but thats a start. On a long marriage with one party earning substantially less than the other - it may be 60/40 to allow for lesser earnings capacity. No one on here can advise as every single fact needs to be considered.
The inheritance is already " in the pot " of assets - you dont need to continue with the house purchase.Stuck on the carousel in Disneyland's Fantasyland

I just had a quick google myself to confirm that my memory wasn't letting me down - it is indeed potatoes.
This may, of course, be a reference to the fact that the (hypothetical?) woman is overweight?
But - if she is real - then I certainly wouldn't expect a man in my life to be trekking round either the Internet (or ITRW) generally making with a "She is lucky to have me - as I am such a catch" attitude. That applies even if she is a 5 out of 10 on the "Good catch" scale and he is a 9 out of 10.0 -

Ahh, you see I thought if the asset was in joint names it would be 50/50 but if the asset was in her name, I would have a harder fight.
It raises another question, because her income is lower, she wouldn't really get a proper mortgage on her own so maybe the judge would rule in her favour.
Would the judge be swayed if the affair was proven?0 -

she does behave like a sack of spuds which irks me because clearly the boxer shorts were under her side of the bed whereas I have to take my own off.0 -
I think the OP should post a pic of the boxers on here, some poor sod may be forced to go commando until he gets reunited with these.0

No....
Look it's simple, you're both young, there's no children.
Aside from the inheritance, you'd likely get 50/50 split.0 -
Oh dear and now giggling at the thought that this (hypothetical?) woman isn't ripping OP's boxers off with desire...:rotfl:
Can't think why...0 -
If she were cheating why wouldn't she drive off now into the sunset with the Range Rover, her inheritance, and 50% of the equity in your current home.nearlysingle wrote: »rightly or wrongly, I have probably contributed to her lifestyle 50% of the value of her inheritance. I don't want to have to settle with 12.5% of this house and she drives off into the Sunset in my range rover.0
