Respect has to be earned not expected, we are not all fortunate to have been able to get nationally recognized qualifications, or be born into our jobs

Completely agree. That being the case, they should be paid a respectable wage for doing so, not TOLD they have to do it voluntarily or WORSE being told there are only voluntary vacancies available

You talk as if they have to do it voluntarily for good, it only 8 weeks, and if you put it on your CV then it can look good to prospective employers, plus they are not doing it for nowt are they they get HB, CTB and their JSA, so the same as respect, entitlement is earned too

Entitlement is not earned -

entitlement ‎(plural entitlements)

1. The right to have something, whether actual or perceived.
2. power, authority to do something
3. Something that one is entitled to.

For nearly 30 Years I have PAID into a safety net to secure me if I found my self out of work. I dont EARN it, I pay for it.


I EARN my wages, I would not be working otherwise.
