    Is this a serious post?

    Why are you being nasty?
  • some people have no other option but to work in retail or fast food, some people even want to work in these places (an alien concept to some of you I am sure)

but the point is that wothout retail workers, fast food workers, kitchen workers & the such kind, where would the world be
  • Respect has to be earned not expected, we are not all fortunate to have been able to get nationally recognized qualifications, or be born into our jobs

Completely agree. That being the case, they should be paid a respectable wage for doing so, not TOLD they have to do it voluntarily or WORSE being told there are only voluntary vacancies available

Nothing wrong with demeaning jobs whatsoever, so long as you are happy and get paid for it. ;)

You talk as if they have to do it voluntarily for good, it only 8 weeks, and if you put it on your CV then it can look good to prospective employers, plus they are not doing it for nowt are they they get HB, CTB and their JSA, so the same as respect, entitlement is earned too

Why are you accusing me of being nasty when I'm not being nasty?

    Stop it.

    Now who is being nasty?

No need to verbally abuse me because I am saying things you don't agree with.

I don't know what your problem is, but you seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder, both of you, so I'm out of here.

    Entitlement is not earned -

    entitlement ‎(plural entitlements)
    1. The right to have something, whether actual or perceived.
    2. power, authority to do something
    3. Something that one is entitled to.
For nearly 30 Years I have PAID into a safety net to secure me if I found my self out of work. I dont EARN it, I pay for it.

I EARN my wages, I would not be working otherwise. ;)
