    What utter rubbish

In your enthusiasm to defend the card you appear to have got carried away .....or just sitting there with your fingers in your ears not wanting to hear that like every form of payment there are always risks.

Of course their are risks but like I said in my post carrying cash is riskier and people are happy to do that. But what part of my post do you actually disagree with?. You have made a big point about how I am wrong but have been unable to explain your point of view?

And buses like in London don't take cash you have to use contactless or oyster and with android and apple pay using fingerprints to authorise payments with no limit on android pay it's safe as no one else has your fingerprint so I always use android pay and only cash say at places like the fish and chip shop or burger bar which is cash only

I don't get why people are so against contactless cards... It's been proven they are much safer than cash and have the same level of security as normal chip and pin. The unique code which changes for each transaction ensures it cannot be copied (unlike normal chip and pin). And if you lose a contactless card then it should be pretty easy to identify which transactions were fraudulent, and eventually a pin code is going to be asked for.

Not to mention how much it speeds up the entire process of things. Nothing is worse than waiting in line at the supermarket whilst someone is faffing around grabbing their card, putting it in the machine, waiting, pin, pulling it out, faffing out more. Or counting coins. It's so frustrating. So much easier with contactless.

And I'm sure if the people who are so against it actually gave it a chance, they'd see the benefits.
  • I flew out to New York last week, and Boots in Luton has contactless now! :D

Tesco CS told me they hope to get all stores contactless by the end of the year. They are starting in London, Birmingham, Manchester, then working down in size, though small stores have been enabled, nationwide.

Why is Sainsburys still not putting the contactless payment option in their stores?

And what about Asda? Tesco store in Birmingham City Centre takes contactless payments.

They cannot possibly have the same level of security as chip and pin.

If I lose my non-contactless card in the street, no one can use it without knowing my PIN.

If I lose my contactless card in the street, someone can use it for tranactions up to 30 pounds.

Contactless removes security for low value transactions - its nonsense to say the security level is the same.

Whether people want it or not is a personal choice, but peddling nonsense doesn't really help make the case in favour.

But you don't loose any money because the bank will refund any fraudulent transactions.

Plus it's better than money because it you loose a £20 note you will loose £20 guesnteed. If you loose your card you won't loose any money at all.

But people should be taking better care of their cards anyway, I have never lost a card in my life.
