So like many here I have a TSB classic plus account and want to use it to get the 5% cashback before the deal runs out.
Stores I've tried or have been reported in this thread that don't accept the contactless method::(
B & Q
Tesco
Tesco Fuel
Sainsburys
All Shell garages
Asda (inc Enniskillen, Northern Ireland)
Iceland
Boots (at Luton airport)
Farmfoods (some stores now installing contactless)
Sports Direct
Crown Carveries
Card Factory
Holland & Barrett
Toby Carvery
All Bar One
Starbucks (at some service stations)
We should lobby these stores HQs to see why their payment systems are so prehistoric. Some card machines do have the contactless symbol but I'm told by the cashier that it doesn't work!
Stores reported which DO accept contactless:D
Some BP stations (Derbyshire)
Asda (Not N.Ireland)
M&S (London)
Post Office (London)
WH Smith (London)
Wilkinson
Mc Donalds
Boots
Some KFC
Poundland
Lidl
Aldi
Morrisons
Heron Foods
Farmfoods Milton Keynes
Co-op (London)
Greggs (London)
JD Wetherspoons pubs
Costa Coffee
Nandos (London)
Pret (London)
Eat (London)
I hope to keep this list updated and please feel free to post any you like, or correct me.

Banks want you to use contactless so you can lose your card and someone can go ahead and get you overdrawn, or people will buy stuff without realising, wish it never existedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Worse case scenario: someone steals your wallet/purse. Anyone using your credit/debit card (up to £30) fraudulently would lead to the bank reimbursing you.
You have to hold the card quite closely to the card terminal; you can't be accidentally charged just walking past a checkout where someone's using it.
There are plenty of options for those of us who don't want to use contactless (such as requesting your bank to give you a non-contactless card, buying a shielded wallet/purse).It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

A pitifully small list. I hope to keep this list updated and please feel free to add any you like, or correct.
BIB: There are 500 Tesco stores within the London area capable of contactless payments; I used Apple Pay at the High Street (Kensington) branch of Tesco Metro in September.
According to their Twitter feed "it's a trial" and should it prove successful it'll be rolled out nationwide. Given my local Tesco Metro (in Derby) now sports an Ingenico terminal capable of such transactions I'd imagine it's a case of sometime in the not too distant future.
In terms of Boots the Chemist they do have contactless; so why the branch at Luton Airport doesn't is a mystery.
Morrison's has contactless, so do BP. I believe Lidl do as well (according to the Apple Pay website) but it's not somewhere I visit often. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I used contactless at self service till at boots the other day.0

I'm sure that you're right. The banks have spent millions implementing the whole contactless system so that they can charge for additional overdraft fees. It all makes sense now.0 -
I've used mine recently in lidl, Aldi, Burger King, morrisons, superdrug and co-op.0

NatWest don't offer this, you have to downgrade to a Solo card.
We've gone for your latter option:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I've used it this week in Waitrose, but Sainsbury don't accept it.0

On the subject of contactless cards, how many credit cards are contactless? My Barclaycard is but I'm not aware of any others.0

My OH was sent a contactless card by his bank when his card was due for renewal. He then had to ring them up and tell them he did not want one, and then had to wait for an ordinary one to be sent out.
I think this is wrong to be sent one without it being requested.0
