Stores that DON'T accept contactless payments - name and shame!

A little off-topic perhaps, but it does relate to the OP stating they wanted to take advantage of TSB's 5% cashback on contactless ...
If you attempt a contactless transaction but the machine instead requests your PIN, does it still count as a contactless transaction?
Does it matter ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Of course it matters as if it was possible to obtain a 5% rebate by keying in your PIN after a failed contactless attempt we'd all be a bit happier, wouldn't we?
I certainly would have been last week, as I got a PIN prompt on what turned out to be my largest contactless transaction of the week.
Oh well, I guess I can forget about getting my 5% on that one!0 -
Even if that did happen then you would get a full refund from the bank for any unauthorised transactions. It's a lot better than carrying cash which if lost you will never get back if someone spends it.
Really? That's madness. It isn't the bank's fault that you were careless with your card so why should they stump up?0 -
Given that Apple Pay (and any comparable smart technology method) is safer than C&P and cheques and cash, it is really hard to understand why someone as security conscious as yourself would reject it.
Bet you would fail to convince your grand kids, and even your kids.
I'm not worried about the security of Apple pay, it's just I have an adversion to anything Apple. Overpriced and too controlling. I like the open source of Android. But hey anything that helps them achieve world domination.0 -
In my small town only the BP garage is contactless - Boots, Tesco Express and Asda are not.
Do you want to mention your small town?0 -

There is just about nothing non-commercial about Android. The freebies are designed to catch the unexpecting.
Sounds like you are only against world domination because your open source model hasn't achieved world domination. And it never will, as it is fundamentally flawed.
Contrary to some political convictions, there is nothing free in this world. Eventually, a commercial element has to come into it because nobody can afford to work for nothing forever.0
