if you cant afford a real range rover or a real BMW then don't bother

Both tend to be driven by cocks who can't afford the real thing.

What a couple of pointless posts. Probably something that our old friend DM would have come up with.

Yes that is what I was thinking as when you look at the specs sixe wise its not much different in size . thanks.
It's actually shorter than the old X1.

Rear visibility in the Evoque is poor due to the small windows.. In the back seats it feels like being in a cave due to the small windows.

The new X1 is nothing like a "scaled X3" and the fact that it's based on the 2 series tourer, probably the worst decision BMW have made, is certainly nothing to shout about.

You're right I shouldn't have compared the X1 to a 1 series, I'd rather to stick to a 1 series (particularly with Xdrive) than a front wheel drive, overpriced soft roader any day of the week. ;)

Wait! The new X1 is FWD?

Considering the 2Series chassis was not really considered particularly good by Fifth Gear this is a strange direction for BMW to take.

Yes almost identical opinions worded differently.

Either DM or just one of the many bitter internet trolls.

RAV4 or Subaru XV will be the better car

So in which way are either of those 2 vehicles better than an Evoque?

    Looks? No

    Depreciation? No

    Sales? No

I am a confirmed Subaru fan but seriously the XV? I have only seen one in London total.

The RAV4 fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

This is what I feel is wrong with the U.K.

A British Manufacturer (who owns the share is irrelevant) has produced a vehicle that they struggle to make fast enough and retains nearly 60% of its value over three years.

And some people still slag it off.

Why not be proud of what a relatively small company like JLR has produced.

It is also a proper off road er as has been proved time and time again.

Unlike an X1 that will likely struggle with a muddy field.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, looking at the Evoque makes me want to sand my eyeballs with glasspaper.

You really do seem eaten up with jealousy.

    Why?

So what is a real Range Rover?

Only a full fat Range? Or only a LWB full fat Range? Is the previous generation Sport a proper Range Rover? Only the current Range Rovers? So a four year old Range Rover Autobiography is no longer a "real" Range Rover? Despite costing £80/90k new and still being worth £30/40k?
What about a last of the old shape Sport? Cost £70k in Autobiography spec in 2013 and still worth £40k.

What about Fords? Is there something wrong, in your opinion, in owning a Fiesta or Focus rather than a Galaxy or Kuga.

    Would they be "cocks" ???

Would you use the same argument about that silly car badged up ''Discovery''

You are going to have to explain that a bit better as it makes zero sense.

You do realise that I consider an Evoque to be as much of a Range Rover as any other model.

And why are you mentioning a Discovery?

As that is a Land Rover not a Range Rover branded vehicle.

The popularity of the the vehicle new and used says more about the looks than any ones persons personal opinion.

What similar vehicle do you consider to be better looking? And to have a nicer interior?

    A CR-V?
