Hugs to you Dizzy Imp :(

I have finally got my tree up, has only took me 2 days to get it all done, but its now twinkling away in all its glory with all the lovely new decs I bought at craft fairs and nichey type shops when my mum took me to a christmas market few weeks ago, didn't quite realise how many decs I already had . . . tree is now a tad full :D

DH and I have been a teeny tiny bit spendy this week :o we went to 'look' at a new bed as it was black friday so 25% off beds and mattresses (we like to do that every 6 months or so, and have been looking for roughly 7 years now as ours is held together by a rather spiffy bit of wood underneath after DS decided to use it as a trampoline 8 years ago . . ) and actually bought one
They wanted £1230 for it   and reluctantly (read that as dragged kicking and screaming by DH to the till) I agreed. Sales lady is taking her merry time putting it through so i'm having a play with my phone, think 'ooo, i'll just check quidco as they do cashback for here' and it was 10% back  'STOP!!!!' no thankyou very much, i'll go home and order it. Sales lady looks a bit confuddled, so have to explain to her about quicdo, then explain it to her manager who grudgingly agrees to take the 10% off if I buy direct from them :D they also then took 25% off the headboard so I got a bed with mattress, topper and headboard for £1010.
DH is sat opposite me chuckling to himself, we get in the car and i'm like 'what was so funny?' he said 'when that manager walked round the corner he said to his colleague . . 'that woman knows her stuff', he didn't sound pleased' :D :rotfl:

And just incase we hadn't spent enough money, we had a bloke come round and view the front garden to renovate it (another job that we have liked to look at over the years but never get round to) and agreed to him coming and doing the work before new year  I feel a bit faint with all this spending!! :rotfl:

Anyway £2 in the £2 coin tin after a trip to the post office, would have been more but eldest has gone off to camp for the weekend and robbed me blind :o

    Happy new bed Jakes-mum.

I hope the flood recovery doesn't take as long as estimated Dizzy Imp.

I have been sorting out one of my wardrobes today, it's a boring job and I should just stop buying stuff then I wouldn't need to keep having a clear out!!

    £6 potted today.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

The new bed sounds lovely jakes-mum though it's horrendous how expensive they are now. Well done on getting the discount and hope you have many years of sweet dreams :j

Potted a tenner today. I keep a couple in the drawer in case DH needs cash, we feel like popping out for a pint or three or I/we have to get a taxi somewhere. I only use my cards now for shopping as I get the cash back on them ;)

Hope you all have a super weekend

  • Came back from my boot sale £31 up. Replaced the money I took out of the pot for float and added £1.90 to it.

Do not recommend walking your stuff 2 miles to a carboot in a storm, though. 0/10 don't do it. I'm still damp and I've been inside all day. I may never be dry again.

I couldn't agree more, 32b3, it's lovely to have some laughter on the thread. :rotfl:

WOW... you did exceptionally well, jakes-mum, hats off to you with a GREAT BUY!!! I bet you won't get the garden renovated using Quidco....will you?!!!

I hope things get no worse for you today, Dizzy Imp. Thoughts go out to you for sure.

Don't forget to look at the 1st post on page 1, lexbubbles, at what it says about "Holding Pots" as, in all honesty, your pot should be sealed!! :naughty: I'd hate others to think that opening their pots is the right thing to do! Glad to hear you put it back in.....more besides as well ;) Be careful in the weather!

Good for you, Westie! Don't worry about potting being slower though as it happen to us all....hence there being fewer posters right now. It'll pick up. :D

Very wise indeed, Lynne! Well done with the £10er.

:xmassmile Be sure you enjoy a super Saturday, SPCers, a FANTASTIC WEEKEND too...and don't remember your POTS!
