-
A very good Afternoon, SPCers. Not such a great day here and just missed a rotten shower...then got dumped on by yet another b:silenced::silenced::silenced::silenced:r!!! Have a good day, all, but...don't forget those pots won't last without food!!
Many {{{Hugs}}} for all our poorly family members, I really hope you're soon feeling so much better! :happyhear
carbootcrazy wrote: »I love this thread! Everyone's doing so well, it's a joy to read your posts which are motivating and entertaining at the same time:beer:. Sue, your summary posts are a real tonic and always make me laugh. How sweet you are to respond to everyone who's posted and not leave anyone out:A
Meanwhile I've a mountain of washing and totally dead machine. The launderette it is then and it's a round trip of 30 miles to the nearest:eek:. I'm going to need more than that potted 50p to feed the machines:(. Not going to raid my pot though, I doubt the machines take coppers.
SWEET - Me??! Don't you believe it, carbootcrazy, you'll ruin my image if you're not careful and we can't have that.I'm so pleased you're happy here though as....happy folk so often means keen to save ones!!! :j Such a shame about your washing machine chap, but 32b3in2013 has given you a simple answer to it all, be sure to check it out as she's gone to great lengths [STRIKE]the silly fool[/STRIKE] bless her.
Kerry_Woman wrote: »Sue - Lovely news about your DGD's wedding in March. Please send her and her OH my best wishes for the big day. Glad you enjoyed your shopping trip with your eldest DGD and middle DGS. You have potted a great amount.
Bless you, Kerry, everyone else also, you're such a lovely lot. I will most certainly send our Amy your best wishes, thank you all. :grinheartMy DH is terrible to go shopping with, BUT..when the DGC are there he almost behaves himself. We'll need to have them along when choosing my outfit or it'll be...."Come on, we've been here 5 whole mintes already!!" "You don't want to go in there too surely!! leave it until we're on the way back" BUT we never go back - or I forget the blasted shop!! It's an angel in EVERY other way, but shopping!!!!! Unless it's photography, DIY shops or similar.....now that's a different matter! *shrugs shoulders in total despair*
Well done, 12 month challenge, keep looking just in case there are any more hiding!sunshine81 wrote:Found my stray pound coin from the other day! I had put it in my cardigan for safe keeping while my one year old had a tantrum... Haha. So potted it, with another £4.70
You found £1 so potted....another £4.70, sunshine, are you of Irish descent perhaps?! Well done even if you're not!! :j
Thank you, 32b3, didn't do bad at all did I!He always gives me more when we're shopping, most of it as a bribe to...get out of the shop!!!!! :rotfl: Good saving yourself, though rubbish ideas about washing machine fixing!!! :rotfl:
Ahh..I bet you'll miss your DS now eh, Lynne, still at least you've had a lovely time. 7 weeks in SA...oooh how gorgeous that'll be. What a parting gift too, bless him!
Oh, I quite agree with sticking to what you normally give, jakes-mum, not to do so would be a little like switching lottery Nos after always having done the same ones. Don't you worry...I've got your number where £2s are concerned and...you AN'T having any near me!!!!!So there.
Your housemate sounds a bit slow, TheCatsandDogsMother! Still, maybe her loss will be your gain of a person who's worthy of having the title 'housemate'. Fingers crossed for you.tatabubbly wrote:Been invited to lots of Christmas dos ATM but I'm going to decline as I'd rather save my money for actually going home at Christmas!
Very wise indeed, tatabubbly!Have a smashing long weekend and great potting!
mugwump79 wrote:Thanks for asking Sue, Mum has gone to have her heart put under stress today as she has problems with artery number two as well, so will see what that brings. She told me she has had a sneaky half a cigarette since her heart attack, I was so disapointed but have to accept she is an adult and will do as she pleases, I got upset with her and told her not to tell me if she does it again as I don`t want to know, so feeling miffed at the mo x
Oh dear, !!!!!!, still all the best to her as they're certainly trying for her. BTW. Be careful you're not playing into her hands with your remarks! Try the opposite tactics as caring can do wonders for those trying to quit!!Half a ciggie is VERY good, believe me, she needs praise - even if you feel a little doubtful of giving it. Excellent potting!
Hiya little_sweetie! :hello: It really is so good to see more of you, do keep it up though or you'll have me in. Good luck with the NatWest gifts and...see you soon. Love to G, you too.

I see your point, suz_87, but try looking for ways to budget more; spending less on things you might not really need too. If you buy food/drink out then it's amazing what you can save by making your own food at home and not having a coffee out. We all do that sort of things which helps us save poinds per week. Give anything like that a go, you might surprise yourself. BTW. That 10p is better saved than spent so be happy, proud also! :grinheart
Many thanks, everyone, for your lovely words and wishes, so very much appreciate by all the family.:xmassmile Be sure to enjoy your Thursday, Potters....don't forget them there POTS!

Thanks, jakes-mum I can't find a Giving Tree anywhere. I'll try the banks in the area now though. I still donate food to the food bank trolley in Sainsbobs but it would be lovely to buy a gift/gifts for an actual person. In the said store a large box has appeared. It's requested that you make a card, address it 'To Someone Special' and pop it in the box. They will be distributed to lonely people in the area, which is a lovely idea I think. They have a Facebook page but I can't find it (I'm hopeless with things like that ) maybe they are doing that in other areas too?
Our local plumber has a toy collection point in his shop for various local charities. They ask for gifts to be new and unwrapped, for them to be able to be given to the appropriate child. This is for children of any age, from 0 to 16, with a particular need for teenage boys' gifts.
Anyway, back to sealed pots... managed to snaffle 40p from DH's bedside table. You snooze, you lose. :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Hiya Sue ! Congratulations on the wonderful DGD's news. How exciting!
Anyway, popped in to say 50p potted after the food shop, there might be more at the weekend when I find out how frugal I've actually been this week
Where are the STRAGGLERS???? Come on we need the total! The declared totals are absolutely amazing and I intend to get my ar*se into gear and do better next time!
Have a lovely day everyone x
Hi
In London the giving tree is organised by the Metropolitan Police. Last year they did it by individual area, but it has been centrally organised this year. Maybe try your local constabulary website?

No money potted today unfortunately. Can't wait until next week so payday comes...although it all goes in and then straight out again. Grrrr...
Question...does anyone know if I could create a diary on the DFW diary boards for saving? Am saving for a big trip next year and would like a diary to keep track of it and rant when it's not going right but as I'm not paying off debt with the money, I'm unsure if it's allowed? Or could someone direct me to someone who can help? Thanks!Sealed Pot Challenge No - 492

which I think is a kind of on-going thread for people wanting to save. You could always ask on there anyway.
