A very good Morning, everyone. Not such a bad day today at all, not anywhere near as windy as yesterday, thank goodness. Have a great day, and if you can...feed those pots!! Many {{{Hugs}}} for all our poorly family members and I really hope you're soon feeling very much better! :D
Thanks Sue-UU and evo5819 I will continue potting and hoping that I get paid back eventually. On the bright side it's an excuse for making a new pot :)

Thanks TheCatsandDogsMother, when in doubt of having enough 'free' money to get at for desperate situations, create a "Holding Pot" to pop your SPC cash in - just in case you need it (but keep it safe!!) - then transfer it to your Sealed Pot when things are ok. That way you won't need to break into your pot!!!

Hello there, Helen! Well done with your saving whatever it was and I'm so pleased your headache is so much better today. Don't worry about your potting slowing down over and after Christmas, it's natural for us all. :D
Did manage to find a few coins in there to pot(5p and 1p coins mainly so hardly hidden treasure;)). This is slow-going for me :o

One plus was a 50p piece I found under the washing machine when we half pulled it out ready for the repair man's visit. How did that get under there, a 50p is one of the few coins that don't roll:rotfl:

I don't pot anything as high-value as 50p (I need them for spending) but did pot this one, devil that I am;)

Fantastic work with that 50p, carbootcrazy!!!! I can quite see why you potted that! Please don't worry about potting being slow-going for you, I promise you that you're not alone! The most important things is that YOU ARE SAVING and that whatever you pot throughout SPC 9 will benefit you for next Christmas!! So, do the very best you can and...please don't worry! ;) Don't go too much by what some folk pot as we're all different, different jobs, different circumstances etc; YOU ARE YOU!! We love you joviality...so be happy - and proud! :kisses3::grinheart

VERY well done, Missu, not bad at all for a day so keep it up as and when you're able! :D
We have no free to use cash machine by us so if you want cash later than 5pm it's a bit of pain to get any, without taking the car to the local supermarket! And I've been trying very very hard to reduce my petrol bill. Taking it from £40 a week (working) to £20 a week with not working.
I also smoke, which means a lot of money goes on that. However quitting is hard when your partner smokes and the old "get rid of all smoking paraphanalia" doesn't work when he still smokes, but have switched u both to tobacco which although is still an expense, is a lot cheaper in the long run whilst I convince him to quit with me! Haha.

17p potted this morning, from change from my other half after he removed all his silvers and golds from it. So out of about £6 I was left with 17p but I'm not complaining!
But I must start using cash instead of plastic!!!!
    X

I understand things aren't easy for you, Lyndsey-michelle, but have a look through what I've highlighted above and really, you've done marvelously!!!! :T Keep the petrol down as much as you possibly can, and definitely stick to rollies whilst you're trying to give puffing the chop, they're a darned sight cheaper than tailor-mades!! If you can smoke outside that too will help, so will not having each alternate one that you WOULD have had! Where there's a will..... Yes, you're talking to an ex smoker (17 years come Christmas Day! :j) there are a LOT of us here on MSE, but it's so much easier to give it the flick than you might think, truly! ;) I'll be in touch so look for a PM. Don't forget that plastic - don't touch it...stand well back!!!!!

ooooooooh, it sounds as though you're doing jsy great, Lucy! Well done your hubby! :T Your dear lass might yet be glad of that Christmas dinner IF she has a Christmas baby!!!! :j I don't mind when she has it or which flavour it is, so long as it's healthy, she's well......and YOU COME ON SPC AND LET US KNOW!!!!!!! Please! :A

Excellent saving, sunshine, and 10 out of 10 for staying consistant!!!
:xmassmile Have a great Tuesday, Savers....taking good care of your pots!

Haha don't worry Sue my pot is well and truly sealed this time round! It's a celebrations tub with near enough a full roll of duct tape wrapped around it so no easy feat to open!

Edit: 21p potted today! Every little helps! (This post is not sponsored by Tesco) :D

  • Hi folks, some good potting going on here!
Managed to pot some change when I got home from Mum's, and am about to empty my purse too as I got paid today so I'm feeling flush :rotfl:
Oh I'd better pay the house insurance too  we moved in here on Dec 23rd and every year when the insurance comes due I think what a daft time to move!

  • FIVE £2 coins today - sometimes I can go weeks without getting one! A pound a day and all £2 coins as a minimum are going in the pot.

I'm combining my "Save a pound a day" and "Sealed Pot #9" into a single pot for simplicity.
