  • I had to open up my pot :( the housemate didn't deliver her half of the bills so needed to cover them. Am continuing with the shrapnel that is left.
    Number 495 :)
  • I'm excited to be a brand new member -#548. I'm saving specific coins - £2, 20p and 50p. I've got about £25 so far but haven't counted. I'm aiming to save as much as possible rather than a fixed amount to add to my Xmas pound a day challenge.
This thread looks like good fun so I'm really happy to be part of it.

Have potted some shrapnel - including 5p road kill. The poor wee thing was out in the wind and rain - am sure it was shivering ;). So I rescued it, dried it off and its now in making friends with others of its ilk in my pot :D.

  • I have to walk 6.5 miles to collect something from the PO sorting office today. Customs charge on an xmas pressie from US for £13.43 arrived on the 9th but couldn't pay until Friday but cos they only keep it until today (21 days) they wouldn't redeliver it because they "need 2 working days from payment, within 21 day limit"

The area sorting office is 3.2 miles away...

Also £13.43 charge on a £20 item is taking the p***

Probably won't pot anything as I expect I'll be using my card for that one.

Ah...Missu, I see you noticed your shiny new number then, I gave you a formal welcome on the day you first asked (last week) but I know it's difficult on MSE with so many challenges going on. Anyway, you're a fully fledged member and obviously quite happoly spending. :D It's lovely to see your final sentence, we have great fun here - as well as always saving all we can! :j

That's such a rotten shame so early in, TheCatsandDogsMother, though I certainly hope she pays you back so you're no worse off!!

Happy Monday afternoon to you all, hope it's not as wet and windy with you as it is with us. May have to save to buy a boat if this carries on :rotfl:

Went to a Christmas Fayre at a National Trust house nearby yesterday and made a start on Christmas shopping  Just checked my purse and I've got £4.68 to feed into my pot tonight when I get home.:D

    Keep warm everyone

Dear lord never again. Sorting office is in an industrial estate off the motorway (because that's a super convenient location). Bleakest walk ever.

Got a drink and a choccie bar from the shop on the way up there so potted 65p change.

@sue it's like £5 VAT and an £8 'handling' charge. It's the handling charge that gets my goat tbh. Don't mind paying tax where tax is due but what's the handling charge even for and why is it like an hour's wage pay? Not like you pay handling on any other mail is it.

  • lexbubbles - the D represents darling and dear, sometimes dear is a better choice other times darling is more :kisses2: passionate, it depends who we're speaking of. ;););)

And sometimes the 'D' stands for Doofus!! especially where my OH is concerned hahaha!!!

I am on the hunt for a new pot. I have decided. I no longer want to split all my change, I'm just going to get a big ish pot and throw everything in. I'll still have a separate £2 pot though.

So i have thrown my change into my spare purse for the time being.

Love and hugs to you all
