Don't forget to look at the 1st post on page 1, lexbubbles, at what it says about "Holding Pots" as, in all honesty, your pot should be sealed!! :naughty: I'd hate others to think that opening their pots is the right thing to do! Glad to hear you put it back in.....more besides as well ;) Be careful in the weather!

The holding pot's a lovely idea in theory but I know myself and know that it is categorically 100% a terrible idea for me. Because I'd never save anything. Ever.

(I'd have gotten change from somewhere else if it weren't for the fact that nobody here will change up notes at all. Sure I could buy a small cheap thing and pay with notes until sufficient change happened but spending money to get small coins for a car-boot didn't seem very :money: )

  • Only managed £2 again today. Its all the change I had left in my purse after doing my lottery.

Did think about buying another lucky dip with it but thought my sealed pot needs it more :)

Will be potting a whole lot more if I win :rotfl:

Came back from my boot sale £31 up. Replaced the money I took out of the pot for float and added £1.90 to it.

Do not recommend walking your stuff 2 miles to a carboot in a storm, though. 0/10 don't do it. I'm still damp and I've been inside all day. I may never be dry again.

Well done on the earnings, but wasn't your stuff in a car boot???

    I admire your dedication :D

£5.91 potted today, and loads of stuff listed on eBay. My friend's husband came to pick up some stuff I had cleared out so that's one wardrobe done. One more to go and then on to 12 drawers and then I might be done,

    Keep warm everyone.

  • 77p potted today. Had to take my daughter (age 7) to the opticians and came away £109 lighter

  • Potted some shrapnel on our return from our walk - much less muddy today but I was being blown about something terrible :rotfl:
Dizzy I do hope you get sorted out soon I can't imagine anything worse than being flooded :(
Lots of brilliant potting going on!
  • Did a bit better at the table-top sale than I expected and made £39.27 after fees etc paid:j. Even better than the money (well, maybe not, let's not get carried away;)) is getting rid of long-term clutter like an artificial Christmas tree and decorations that have been up in the loft, unused for at least 12 christmases:o.

I only plan to pot coins of 20p and under but I think my brain's been taken over by aliens as I just kept the £15 in notes and 3 x £2 coins from my sale profit and potted all the rest including lots of £1 and 50p coins. I hope I don't regret being so rash, there's a lot of December to go and my pot is well and truly sealed:eek:

£2.50 in the pot! And a couple of notes in my purse still, ready to break into this week :)

No, because I don't have a car. If I did, S & I wouldn't have walked there through Storm Desmond.

My joints are fair in agony now and I think parts of me are still waterlogged, but worth it for £30 (most people would probably disagree, but that's the equivalent of 2 weeks' food money for me, or 75% of what I live on a week. It's a lot of money). Granted it all went to the CC, but that'll reduce the interest a bit next month.

Well I for one definitely agree that it was worth it, lexbubbles:beer:

Lots of people think I'm a bit strange for doing car boot sales but I usually love them. Decluttering and making a bit of much-needed extra money, what's not to like?

Many people would have taken one look at the weather yesterday morning and cancelled their plans. I may well have done the same myself if I'd had to walk all the way carrying my stuff:o. Unloading the car and carrying everything into the venue with the wind getting stronger by the minute was bad enough for me! I'm genuinely full of admiration for your determination despite health issues that would make many resort to a duvet day instead:A.

I hope you'll be feeling better soon and that you can have an easier day today to look after yourself:coffee:
